The noises made it clear: whatever was happening outside wasn't good. This wasn't also a good time for them to stay here.


Lilina: W-What's going on?!

Masaru: We're being attacked! We need to run!

Lilina: B-But to where?! And what about Kail?!

Masaru: I don't know, but here's not a good place to stay, Lilina!
Drake: Hey, you two!!

When they looked at the window from behind them, Drake went in, already armed.


Lilina: Drake!

Drake: C'mon, let's get out of here! I'll take you all somewhere safe!

Masaru: Wait, we can't leave Sir Kail behind like this!

Lilina: It's all my fault... if it wasn't this curse living inside me...

Drake: Now's not the time for you to lament! We need to hide you and fast!

Lilina gave one last glance at the door, worried about Kail. She didn't want to leave him behind, but she had no choice other than running.


Lilina: ... It might trap us, but we have no choice other than the basement. It's the only place I can see for me to hide.

Drake: You're worried about that guy, right? I know he's going to be OK.

Lilina: I hope so... he has to be...!

Masaru: Let's go downstairs then! Hurry!

Lilina, Masaru and Drake went quickly downstairs as the fighting noises seemed to increase. They were surrounded, so the best option was to fake that Lilina could've escaped somewhere, since Drake left the window open.

Sayaka was terribly frightened. The memories from the day where she was almost kidnapped began to torture her again as she trembled in fear.


Sayaka: N-No... not this again... am I going to be captured, just like this?!

Sayaka: M-Miss Rosa... I'm so worried... and scared... I need to call help!

She picked her cellphone and ran immediately to her room. She locked the doors and the windows and quickly dialed Veronica's number.


Sayaka: (Please, Veronica, pick up! Please...! Please!!)

Location: Spring Zone - Intermezzo Mansion

As Veronica still watched over Bloo, her phone began to ring. It was Sayaka.


Veronica: Hi, Sayaka! How's it going-
Sayaka: V-Veronica, I'm being attacked! By the same guys from before!!

Veronica: No way! Sayaka, are you alright?!
Sayaka: I locked myself into my room, but I don't know for how long I'll stay safe!! Veronica, I need help!! I'm scared...!! I don't know what to do!!

Veronica: D-Don't worry, I'll call for help! Please, hang on tight!
Sayaka: *sob* Please, hurry!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIEEEEEEEEEEEE- *call turns off*

Veronica: Sayaka?! Sayaka!!

She tried to call her, but no response came from Sayaka. Veronica started to get desperate herself.


Veronica: (I need to call someone! Maybe Big Bro...! Wait, if he gets into this, he'll get caught! There has to be someone else...)

Veronica: (... I hate to do this, but they're my only hope...!!)

Location: Spring Zone - Alice's House

Loud thunders could be heard from the window, which seemed as if the rain would fall even stronger. Alice went to the local market, so only the brothers were at home. Soon, Marina's phone started ringing.


Marina: Marina speaking.
Veronica's Voice: Marina!! Marina!!

Marina: Veronica? Is something wrong?
Veronica's Voice: It's Sayaka!! She's being attacked!!

Marina: What?! Sayaka is being attacked?!

Upon hearing his sister, Xaizor hurried and took the phone from her hand.


Xaizor: Veronica?! What the hell happened?!
Veronica's Voice: The terrorists are attacking again!! They got Sayaka!! She just called to me right now and-

Xaizor: Then the thunder we heard earlier...!!
Veronica's Voice: I don't know what to do!! I don't want to call Big Bro or the others on this! Please, I need you to help Sayaka!!

Her desperate plea made Xaizor throw Marina's phone on the couch and he quickly went to the door.


Marina: Xaizor, where are you going?!

Xaizor: I'm going after Sayaka! I'm rescuing her before it's too late!

Marina: But Miss Rayla just said-

Xaizor: To hell with what Rayla said!! If she wants to pick a fight with me later, I don't give a damn!! I'm saving that girl and you're not stopping me!!

Not even taking an umbrella, Xaizor left to Sayaka's house. Marina looked to the window, only to see a trail of smoke rising from one of the buildings at a short distance.

The pink-haired girl walked around a lone part of the streets, close to the Suburbs. She calmly walked along the other people in the rain. While holding her umbrella, she looked around, calm.


???: The rain may not be a lot helpful to people, but it has its wonders. At least the people don't suffer too much attacks from the thugs.

???: I guess my rounds are done. I should return to the Winter District and inform Sir Krantz about the situation.

The portal opened right next to her and Azrel soon landed at the sidewalk. His landing did quite a slightly loud splash, which made the girl notice.


Azrel: (So, this is Unitia then. I think I should begin by getting a little of information around. And a map as well.)

Azrel: (Hopefully, I wasn't found by anyone who'd deem me that suspicious.)

???: What? Hey, you!

Azrel: And I got found... wonderful.

???: You did got found! Who in the blazes are you?! How did you managed to appear like this?!

Azrel: Sorry, girlie, but I've no obligation to tell you.
???: You... don't you have a little more respect for authorities?!

Azrel: Authorities...? You don't look like one. By the by, who are you?
???: If I remember well, I asked you first!

Azrel: Sheesh, calm down, will you? Everybody's staring.

When she finally looked, people were indeed staring at her. They began to walk on their ways as her face got red.

Mia took her special handcuffs and went to bind Azrel. In the moment she touched him, her hand passed through him. In fact, herself went right through him.


Mia: What?

Azrel's Illusion: Oh, I forgot to mention... you fell on the oldest trick on a book. You were so convinced that I used this moment to escape.

Azrel's Illusion: Goodbye for now, officer Mia. Maybe our paths will cross again.
Mia: Hold it right there! I'm not done with you!

But in a second, the illusion finally disappeared, leaving Mia completely astonished at her failure.


Mia: Damn it, I can't believe I fell for a stupid illusion trick! How could I be so careless?!

Mia: *sigh* Best if I return to the Base. I've already done my round in here. I'll leave Sir Krantz and the others informed about the situation here.

The Winter District was the shopping center and business domain of Unitia, possessing a variety of offices and shops for people to go. Of course, there are people who live there. Among the skyscrapers and the commerce, an unknown manor stood there.

Limil's Voice: Yes, come in.

The butler went in the room. Sitting in the bed, playing with a teddy bear like a small kid, the boy looked at him.

With a snap of her finger, Amalia made three corpses appear.


Amalia: For once, a streak of luck has hit me and I managed to find their original corpses. I will leave them under your command for now, but if anything goes haywire and someone questions who ordered them, instruct them as my agents.

Amalia: After all, since Amilia, Zeena and Isana are doing the groundwork at your name, we wouldn't wish for you to be entirely targeted, would we?

A dark hole opened once again under Amalia. She slowly descended as her image began to vanish inside it.


Amalia: Now, I'll return to my research. Finding Brongaa's reincarnation may not be sufficient, so I'll try to learn a way of recreate Ba'als. Goodbye for now, Lady Amandra.

With her goodbye, Amalia's figure vanished inside the dark hole, which closed right after that.

The space was filled with light as a single crystal orb stood upon a pedestal. A small kid looked incessantly at it, curious.


???: Would you look at that? Seems like Azura already did a move on those kids. Though I don't think that just Branding them will be enough.

Another young man went in the light-filled room. He seemed rather nonchalant.


???: You're the one saying it. I don't have ways to tell you whether you're right or wrong.

???: Aww, you know me so well, don't you?

???: But to think that a god would want my services... and that he has the body of a kid.

???: Kiddy as I may look, you know my powers can actually do some little mix at destiny, right?

5T took Conflict's Blade at his hand and gave it a short swing. Sparks came out of it for an instant but they soon stopped. The blade seemed greatly improved, in comparison to what it was before.

Lucent and Kaito smiled as Kaori said her "see you tomorrow", meaning she already felt comfortable. Auror, however, opened the limo's door and called them.


Auror: Alright, hop on. We'll drop Ted first since his house is kinda closer from here and you guys from the Orphanage later.

Lucent: (Someone's in a hurry...)

Kaito: I'm going in first then.

Location: World Crossers Guild - Underground Laboratory

The door opened and 5T went in. He silently closed the door, though it still made an echoing noise. As he kept going downstairs, Touko reaches his sight. She seemed heavily concentrated, but he still needed to confirm if everything was fine with his weaponry.


5T: Sorry to interrupt you at such important task, but I came to see if my blade's adjustments are done, Miss Touko.

Her lantern began to shine as three flames went out of it. Those were souls Amalia has taken, in order to use them into their plan.


Amalia: I've taken the liberty to take these three souls and show them here as reinforcements. One of the belongs to an assassin princess of a now fallen empire, one belongs to a demon that once served the Overlord of the Multiversal Netherworld and the other one belongs to an angel who fell to protect his dear family.

Amalia: They are powerful warriors and I suppose they shall serve our purpose well, considering this new interference from that meddlesome Lumino and his motley crew...

Amalia had joined Amandra since they hold the same vision: the Multiverse needs to return to its prior state, where chaos ran through before the rise of countless heroes. The rain fell, but just as he said, he wasn't being bothered by it. Human as he looked, the speed he ran wasn't something normal. Soon, the guild was in his sight. He touched his ear and spoke.


Quill: Pod, open the window of my room. I'm almost there.
Voice: Affirmative.

A window opened. Quill went into its direction and did a double jump, being able to reach it. Soaking wet, a flying machine close the window as Quill went inside a capsule.

Capsule AI: All systems checked. No apparent damages caused to system or external hardware. YoRHa unit 5T is ready to be deployed.

Living under the alias of Quill Rune, 5T has joined the Guild not so long ago, being present around the time of the terrorist invasion. While some members were tasked to watch over the victims, he was directly instructed to find informations about the attack, since it happened without any sort of restraint from the government.


5T: You AIs could stop referring me as a YoRHa unit.
Pod: Query: why did unit 5T return after the established hour? It is unlikely for 5T to have forgotten such rule.

5T: One of the victims suddenly collapsed. I was in the vicinity, so I checked on her before coming back.
Pod: Proposal: Unit 5T should inform this directly to Nancy and report about the collapse-

5T: Kail will report about Lilina soon. Rosa and Jerry will report about Sayaka and Kaori soon as well. My report is nothing necessary.

As the silence went on, it suddenly got interrupted by a cellphone ringing. When Auror looked, it was Veronica. He picked it up and turned the speaker on. It was his intention to let everyone hear her. At the very least, it would turn the mood up a little.

BGM: Inside the Castle Walls -Qumu Remix-

Veronica: Big Bro, I've been trying to reach you for ages! Didn't you see my lost calls?!

Auror: Yeah, I saw the... uh, 5 lost calls?
Veronica: Sheesh, don't leave me hanging like that! I seriously got worried!

Auror: Alright, alright, calm down, I'm perfectly fine.
Veronica: Well, now that I'm sure you're fine, how are things out there? Is Miss Kaori OK?

Auror: Sure, she's doing well. In fact, she- we all can hear you.

Veronica: He took two kicks on that spot and survived, so I'm sure it's not that dangerous. Besides, his hand was reaching my body.

Veronica: Seriously... and he has the looks, but his personality is just... ugh, I find it so gross.

Woking up, Lilina looked around, utterly confused. When she finally came to, she was back in her house.


Lilina: This place... it's my room.

Before she could think of the dream she just had, voices could be heard from the living room. She went quietly and leaned next to the wall.


Lilina: (Someone else is here?)
Masaru: Look, in my opinion, I don't think that's a good idea.

???: Never said it was. But if she collapsed, it's not safe to dismiss it as irrelevant.

Masaru: Still, doing this analysis of yours seems extreme for me. What if it's just a cold?

???: Was she feverish the moment she collapsed?

Lucent closed his eyes for a brief moment and focused on hearing Azura. Soon, a faint sound of her voice reached his ears.

Alice got into the room and observed that both of them were awake. With a tray holding two cups, her appearance made them lower their guard a little.


Alice: Oh good, you two are awake.

Marina: Umm... excuse me, but who are you?

Alice: My name is Alice Margatroid. Friend of your father's.

Xaizor: Father's... friend?

Alice: Yes. I came from Reimu's world.

Xaizor: I see... so uh...

Alice: Here, I brewed hot chocolate for the both of you.

Alice hands out the cups to Marina and Xaizor. She also gives them blankets to wrap around themselves.


Alice: I've spoken with Reimu and she said that it's best that you two rest here for today. The rain doesn't seem to be ceasing for the day.

Marina: I appreciate it, Miss Alice, but I think we are prepared to head back to the shrine.

Alice: Reimu also told me that you shouldn't go back since you fainted. She also said that she's... busy right now.

Xaizor: Busy? With what?

Alice: That I don't know. She hasn't told me, either.

Marina: I suppose we have no choice but to accept it, Xaizor. Sorry for bothering you, Miss Alice.

Xaizor: I just hope Sayaka got safe home. She was accompained, but still...

Lucent opened his eyes. He was laying down at the ground and when he looked, Kaito was staring directly at his face.


Lucent: Ah!!

Kaito: Whoa, you finally woke up! What the hell happened?

Lucent: H-Huh... where am I...?

Kaito: At Kaori's house? You and the others suddenly fell down without a response. Your eyes were wide open and it was kinda creeping me out...

Auror got up as fast as he could, taking breaths as if he had a nightmare and woke up in fear. He looked around to see that they were back at Kaori's house


Auror: (What the hell? We're back. Was that a dream?)

Once he looked at Lucent, he confirmed it wasn't a dream: his Brand was visible.


Auror: (Wait, I can see that mark at Lucent's hand... so it did happen...)

Agni and Celica

Celica smiled as they have introduced each other, though Samson's earlier remark to Agni did hit her ears. Her senses were far more precise, now that she is somehow a cat woman. As for him, he just took it and didn't give a single reaction to it. He'd rather not start a discussion over something so futile as his emotional state. In the meanwhile, she carefully placed her things on her bed and did looked at the bathroom. Then, she heard Samson asking about special accomodations to either her or him."Oh no, there is no need for the special accomodations just to myself. Believe me, different treatment is something I clearly despise. And please, there is no need for you to leave as well, Sir Samson." She said, answering his question.

Agni had catched that she was unsure about that last part of her answer. This time, he indulged into asking her. "There's a reason why you answered so nervously, right?" He questioned. "Yes, there... is. It is because of my Alteration." Celica spoke, worried. "If it's because you're a cat, then don't worry about it. There are people with side effects far worse than yours." Agni spoke. "Sir Agni, I appreciate the concern, but please refrain from diminishing yourself because of your lack of emotions. As you have noticed I was nervous, I noticed you badmouth yourself oftenly." Celica's tone got a little more serious. "Hey, don't you dare to order Master around like that!!" Cerberus stood up for Agni, who just gave him a third bonk with the book.
