Just don't let us edit those posts. But you gotta have a preview button.

Yeah, a preview function will exist by then. It's much simpler if edits aren't allowed in PMs.

But edit is useful as long as private roleplays are stuck using the convo system.
This is how it's represented in the c0d3:

- Being a participant to a convo means that you have a window into a hidden topic.
- "Leaving" closes the window. All you have on file (all you see from a UI standpoint) is the latest snapshot of whatever came through that window before you closed it.
- "Deleting" closes the window and scrubs your inbox of the evidence.

If that sounds confusing, consider a most basic UI example :

- In a convo, you have "Reply" and "Leave".
- When you click "Leave", let's say the convo is moved to some Archive folder.
- Now when you open the convo in the archive, "Reply" and "Leave" are replaced with "Delete".
- You can read all the posts as you'd expect. After the last post, it says "You left on <timestamp>".
- Clicking "Delete" obviously scraps your snapshot of the convo.

Would we be able to leave the conversation but still have in in our inbox? I've had a few conversations that I wanted out, of but wanted to keep a record of.

Yeah exactly.

Well, the question is whether or not your contributions to the chat are removed for everyone, or just for you.I mean, my guild girlfriend could still show my irl girlfriend the messages I sent her if they're still in her inbox. If I hit "leave convo," my comments would still show up in everyone else's inbox, right? I imagine so, since that is how it normally works. Not that it really matters, because I'd just like to organize my inbox a bit. But its something to think about.

This raises a good point since currently you can edit any past PM for eternity since I haven't yet restricted it.

You shouldn't be able to delete PMs from the system. Perhaps it makes sense to be able to delete/edit them on some short time scale to fix typos and BB-blunders, but that's about it.

It's kinda like email -- If you could edit emails, then you're actually revising history.

The same can be said for public posts, but with more leniency since they're public-facing. Of course, there are exceptions and that just means you've gotta contact me.
Is it fixed now?
Oh yeah. I forgot that I removed it on smaller screens back when it just said "Total PM count -->".

Now it actually has the count, so I'll add it back. (I'm assuming you're browsing on a tablet or something smaller)
That said, I think I fixed it. Can ya confirm?

So far I just scale it to 100% post width.
Think I got it.
@GirlieDovahkiin:

Can you give me a use-case for the tracking feature?

It reminds me of Facebook's messaging system where it tells you exactly when someone read a message, which often feels like a violation of my privacy.

I never used it in vBulletin, so I might be overlooking some useful aspects of it. Or I might not understand how it works.
Keep these issues in mind:

- Convos can involve 2+ people.
- One person shouldn't be able to end a conversation for everyone else. They can only drop out.

---

## My Idea:

- There's are "Leave" and "Delete" buttons on the convo screen.

When you "Leave" a conversation:

- You get crossed off the participants list for posterity.

- The remaining participants can remain talking.
- You can't be invited back to the convo (once the invitation system is implemented)
- The convo gets moved to some sort of convo archive folder/tab. (From which you can then manually delete it)

When you "Delete" a conversation:

- It both leaves and deletes it.

The main function of delete is to keep your irl girlfriends from reading your convos with your guild girlfriends. In other words, it's only to remove the convo from your UI so that it's like the convo never happened. I don't think people should have to delete convos to "save space". It's more useful to have it on record that someone said something to you no matter what it is.

Would that be intuitive to yall? Got a better idea?
