Hey Mahz, what's causing the nesting issue?

I don't often work with regexp.

One issue is that if you want to parse "[tag][/tag] [tag][/tag]", then it seems reasonable to match the closest [/tag] for every [tag].

But what if it's nested? "[tag][tag][/tag][/tag]". Well, now the first [tag] is going to match the first [/tag] and break the nested tag.

When I have time, I will write a proper parser for BBCode without regexp. This is something I've done before: demo.

Nested quotes and hiders aren't even really on my priority list. But I do need to improve the quote button, roll out a preview feature, and add editor buttons so that people don't need to type it manually.

Oh gee the brown nosing in here is insane

It's pretty sad that you think "thank you" is ingratiating.
I fixed this. It'll get deployed tonight when I do the next push.
Yeah, unfortunately the way to do it now is to just remake it and then ask for the old one to be closed. I just closed it in case the other person needs to recover their post.

In the future when the close/hide/delete tools are better, you'll be able to go back through closed RPs and remove them yourself. And move them yourself, too.

This request seems to be a stretch, but I recalled a feature speculated on an old forum about giving people access to multiple avatars to use when making posts. Like, when you're making an IC post in an RPG as a certain character, you can use the avatar of that certain character for specifically those posts... I'm not sure if I'm making sense or not...

Yeah, there is definitely something to this idea. There's some way to make the forum "character aware" in a way that doesn't just add another layer of rigidity to roleplays.

A common request I get is to add a "Characters" tab next to the "IC" and "OOC" tabs so that you don't have to trawl through pages of OOC to find everyone's sheet.

That's the simplest approach, but it doesn't link IC to a character without the user manually doing it. (Perhaps BBCode like [char=...] can be introduced)

One step further would be: when you make an IC post, you can select one of those characters from a dropdown list.

Another step further might involve a "Characters" tab in your profile -- a central place for your characters. And when you join a roleplay, you can link 1+ of your characters to the roleplay. In each IC post, you choose which character is posting it from a dropdown list.

Eventually I think there will be some form of this sort of thing, but the hard part is actually planning it out in detail.
@idlehands:

Easily the only avatar that doesn't actually look randomly generated.

The composition is compelling. The horn just a few hues lighter than the mane. Elegantly resting in the purple pasture instead of derping across it.

What a treat.
@Mtntopview:

Each part of the unicorn seems to be doing something different until you realize the unicorn is falling from a jump. Unique.
@The Nexerus:

Great colors. Great girth on that rainbow. Great cloud placement. Great gallop. The mane matches the horn. What a treasure.

Shame about the snoutbulb.
Yeah, I agree. I need to add a global footer margin to space things out.
