-Independent Action A: Archer can stay in the world for about a week without the mana supply from a master. It is possible for him to act and even engage in combat without his master’s energy, but to use his noble phantasm at full power would be too much of a drain.
-Magic Resistance C+: Archer can cancel the effects of any spell with a chant below two verses targeting him. This skill cannot protect Archer from the likes of High-Thaumaturgy or Greater Rituals, although he is much more resistant to things like divine curses and the sacraments of the Church.

-Battle Continuation B: Archer can continue to fight normally even after taking significant damage. If he escapes from combat, it is almost impossible for him to succumb to his wounds afterwards.
-Clairvoyance C+: Archer can keep track of fast-moving objects within a range of four kilometres. In particular, Archer’s vision can ignore most forms of cover and visual obstruction from his target, such as heavy fog or trees. He cannot see through complete obstructions, such as a wall, though he might be able to discern the presence of an invisible target depending on how much they disturb the terrain. This bypassing also extends to “status effects” on Archer’s body or mind that would reduce his accuracy.
-Blessing of the Sea Breeze B: An effect that can be applied to Archer’s weapons, projectiles, vehicles, or body. It causes the air to be briefly removed in front of the target's path, and forcefully filled in behind, speeding up the target’s movement, or making adjustments in midair. In function, it could be compared to the Mana Burst skill, or reinforcement magic, although it only directly affects the speed of the target, with the power of an attack only being increased due to the increased force behind it. Obviously, this skill can have no effect if air or a similar gas is not present.

Description: The crossbow Archer carried through his terrible voyage, he can cheaply create ammunition for it in the same action as loading it. Having killed the albatross that was thought to have been sent by god to save Archer and his crew, Storm-Blast can bypass any protective skills or NPs of rank C or lower and lessen the effects of those with higher ranks. When Storm-Blast kills a target, any ongoing spell or magical effect the target instigated immediately ends. When its true name is called while firing it, storm blast launches a projectile infused with the fury of the storms that assaulted Archer’s ship at the beginning of its journey. When this bolt lands or is destroyed in midair, the force of that storm is released, producing a blast of thunder, lightning, frost, wind and water that sustains itself for a few seconds over roughly a 100m radius from the point of impact. If the projectile pierces into an entity, this blast is released within its body. Should this happen, lightning sears their veins, thunder shakes their bones, frost forms over their muscles and the force of wind and waves batters their flesh. A normal human would be instantly torn apart by this, and the rest of the storm’s force would be released as normal. Most servants could contain most of the storm inside their body, although with an endurance of C or less, the servant in question would likely be killed. If a servant with endurance of B or higher suffers the internal storm, their chances of survival are higher, depending on where the arrow struck, though the effects on their body would still be extremely debilitating. Archer is immune to damage from his own storms, although the wind can still push him and the frost can still affect his body somewhat.

A man who doesn’t give up easily, August believes that the best approach to a difficult situation is to remain calm, confident, and focus on making optimal decisions. His respect is highest toward those who deny their lot in life and never give up, while he has little patience for people who give up easily or waste time worrying about their chances of failure. August isn’t afraid to contend with enemies while at a disadvantage and has very few moral qualms. However, he has a strong understanding of the value of mage bloodlines, and tries to refrain from killing a mage when it would result in the destruction of their family’s careers as mages. As a mage trying to further his family, August’s intent for the Holy Grail is to reach the root. However, if he should end up unable or unwilling to sacrifice his servant, he would be satisfied with gaining the second magic: “Kaleidoscope”.

The Thane's magic bloodline stretches back many generations, and for most of those generations, they’ve been just barely tolerated by the Mage’s Association. The Thanes were known for taking little pride in their own work as mages, making indecent use of modern technology to make up for what was seen as a weak magic crest, and were suspected of stealing mystic codes and research notes from various minor families throughout history. In a secluded home in rural England in 1978, August Thane was born into the family as an only child. His mother, Marianne, was little more than a stooge, selected by his family because for her high capacity to bear magically inclined children, and because she wasn’t from a high-up family that would demand much in return. His father, Charles, was a somewhat unforgiving man, and so August began an early education in magic, combat, and “treasure hunting”. When August was 19, Charles suffered an unusual injury during an expedition that left him unable to properly utilize his magic circuits, and August inherited the Thane magic crest. Throughout the years that followed, August completed his training under his mother and set off to salvage the Thane family name in the eyes of the greater magic community.

In the years that followed, August managed to establish himself as someone the clock tower could rely on, retrieving various artifacts for private clients in positions of power in the association. Recently, however, his jobs have gotten riskier and risker, causing August to wonder if the Association is testing the limits of a new operative, or trying to get rid of him without getting blood on their hands.
