The Mundane [Small-Town Superheroes]

"I immediately called my wife to tell her about the windows. They cost a fortune to get when we first opened our store. Now, we will wait a couple weeks to fix them, especially with that storm coming." one of the store owners said to Ashton as he typed down the man's words into his phone. This was his second interview and it was not worth the time. No new information was given and the stories were similar. They walked to their store and saw the broken windows. That's it. Ashton thanked the man as he finished typing and asked for any additional statements. The man said that people should get ready for the incoming storm and clear up the glass before it hurts someone. While he was typing that final statement, he heard a familiar voice as the voice got closer.

“You shouldn’t be here y’know. Mixed race kid wearing poor-people clothes in the middle of Verona’s biggest vandalism case? Might as well climb into the Sheriff’s car.” Abigail tried to upset Ashton but it failed as usual, "Nah, nah, I’m kidding. Whole fuckin’ town knows you’re too much of a nerd to do something like this…"

Abigail sat down on the counter as she asked, "...Who works on a Sunday anyway?"

"Whoever isn't at church or sitting at home doing nothing." he answered his friend's question as he quickly saved the interview and put his phone away. He saw Abigail pulled out her phone and texting someone. That someone was most likely Veronica, another close friend of both Ashton and Abigail. Veronica and Ashton's relationship started out as his relationship was Abigail, but they get close and became friends. She also did something with her hands, wanting the interview to end as soon as possible. He thanked the man once more and got back to clearing up Main Street. After dismissing the interviewee, she looked around the street and saw pieces of glass all over.

“Man, either Verona’s got a team of exceptionally dumb, angry kids or one incredibly determined psychopath.” Abigail smiled while holding her hands up, “I couldn’t manage this much chaos on my own, so that’s me out of the suspect list. Where we going next, mister Journalist?”

"Thankfully, people aren't pointing their fingers at you. Since no-one else knows what happened and I am getting the same shit, I report what I have to my boss." Ashton said as he pointed at Andrew Marlowe, his boss and friend. He has respect for Andrew as a good friend and a great boss, giving Ashton this job helped improve his skills for the future. The sheriff was busy answering Marlowe's questions to notice Ashton approaching behind. He waved down his boss and mouth the words, "Meet me when you are finished."

He walked away for the sheriff and went back to his friend while saying, "Now, we wait until he's done."

Species
The United Nations of Earth and Solar System's population is mostly made up of humans with some species from different worlds. Species can live and become citizens of the United Nations after passing the International Galactic Citizenship Test and living on one of the UN-controlled planets for ten years (living aboard space stations does not count). There are also augmented humans that make up about twenty-eight percent of the human population.

Allegiance
Since the fall of the Old Empire, the United Nations of Earth and Solar System agreed that the planets owned by the newly established republic would be neutral towards any sort of factions. For the most part, the republic does trades with different members of the galactic community—no matter their allegiance. Despite their neutrality, they have standing fleet and military preparing for any signs of an invasion or declaration of war.

History
After the fall of the Empire, Earth entered a state of chaos as the people rose up against the collapsing empire. Government officials and loyalists were hunted down and killed in several cities all over the systems. The violence and killings lasted several weeks before most of the loyalists either left or got killed. During the last week, the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland and the United States of America reestablished themselves and started to expand into the unrest lands. Then, other countries formed to protect themselves for the two larger nations. Eventually, fifty-six countries had formed and war was soon entering everyone's minds.

The Earth was still healthy and handed the Empire's usages of their resources. However, that was changing as nuclear war was getting closer. Until the reformation of the United Nation, where it included all of the countries. Their goal at the time was to reclaim the entire Solar System for any newly formed empires on those planets. They managed to put aside their differences and built a better fleet than the Empire's old and dying fleet. Their first targets was the Moon and Mars, which had been claimed by newly established countries. With their army and fleet, they attacked and spent four years on retaking them. Thousands died and millions of dollar spent on keeping the war engine going.

Eventually, both nations surrounded and were annexed into the Federation. But the goal of retaking the Solar System was not over. That goal took fifty years to accomplish due to resistance and cost of maintaining the planets and their colonies all over the hundreds of moons. After finishing their goal, they decided to end their expansion into other systems and tried to rebuild that the Empire destroyed. All of a sudden, the Copernican Federation made contract with the Federation and discovered the Earth for the first time since the Empire's fall. The Copernican didn't like the fact that they were welcoming aliens with open arms into Earth, the home of Humanity.

The formation of their political rivalry began after their first contact and the Copernican Federation is trying to pull the Federation towards their sphere of influence. However, the Federation refuses to be influenced and they are willing to stand their ground even if they could lose everything. Despite their warnings, Earth was declared to be sanctity and any permanently destructive weapons are not allowed towards the planet. They will even help defend Earth if it's invaded by another military force.

The surprise attack on Titan forces was over for now as the tanks kept firing for two minutes. During that time, eight people succumbed to their injuries. The apartment building provided some medical aid and food while scouting the first level. Despite the other levels, the place seemed safe for any enemies and perfect for a headquarters. The commander, Abdul Ghani el-Allam, sent some soldiers outside to gather any remaining supplies that they left behind. The tanks provided some sort of protection while the men searched the entire area. They returned with some extra ammo and a small radio for the streets. Abdul then began to order men to set up headquarters at the staff room nearby the check-in area.

It took some time, but they were able to set up a nice little station to contract command. After trying to establish communication with the general for a hour, they were able to finally get information about the recent backup units coming towards the city. Sadly, they did not know how long until reinforcements arrived to provide aid. Command suggested to stand down and wait until further orders. They warned of incoming air strikes and bombing over the next couple days to destroy any chance of ISIL getting supplies. After the briefing, Abdul went back to finishing up HQ.

It had been four days since the briefing and no word for command since. ISIL forces advanced towards the apartment several attacks, resulting deaths on both sides.
