level two // scrapyard - end // 286 words

Roadhog looked at the hooded man and laughed at his threat. He was easily able to take a few people down before being put down. He wasn’t sure about the others, but it won’t be different than fighting Overwatch’s strange members like their talking monkey. But, the girl from earlier approached him with answers. And he just listened. For the most part, things made sense, but there were still more answers that the hooded man needed to answer. Roadhog didn’t care if he had to fight them. He was going to make sure that the hooded man answered since it seemed like he knew about this mess.

But nobody was prepared for what was coming. Some sort of airship appeared out of nowhere that created a massive wave of air. Roadhog immediately ran for cover as he was nearly taken away by the winds. Someone pointed out that they saw a child in the airship while Roadhog left cover. Then, a giant version of the talking lizard landed in front of the bridge. It looked like it wanted a fight. However, it seemed like the cowboy managed to wake up the unconscious man. He got his shotgun and hook ready for the incoming battle. Then, he looked at the group and saw that the girl was dancing while the cowboy was trying to distract the giant monster. Roadhog turned towards the group and saw a child with the hat with them.

For some reason, she looked like she had no color besides her glowing red eyes. But he knew that she was an enemy. He just felt it in his huge gut. Roadhog pointed at the child and said in a cold demanding tone, “Kill her now.”

I am able to post during the night.

EDIT: And posted! I can't wait until everyone hates Roadhog. lel

"As we augment our bodies and our societies with ever more pervasive and possibly
invasive sensing, computation, and communication, there comes a point when
we ourselves become these technologies"

Budapest was the first Central European city to make human augmentation illegal to buy while Hungary was the third country to ban and segregate augmented people. As the result, Budapest and several Hungarian cities introduced a district only for people with augmentations regardless of status. This idea was adopted into several Central and Eastern Europeans countries, while pro-augmented groups expressed their concerns. Two years after the introduction of the segregated districts, the remaining European Union shared reports about abuses within Budapest’s district to the United Nations. They sent a UN investigator to find out the truth behind the reports in the district with their informant, Fábián Alexandra.

Alexandra was a former augmented model for Vogue before the Hungarian government forced her to live in the district and quit her job. She was the district’s unofficial spokesperson for thousands of augmented people, and it got the United Nation’s attention. The United Nations believed that she had information regarding the mistreatment of augmented people in these districts by the authorities and citizens with anti-augmented views. If the information was accurate, then the United Nations would have enough evidence to declare the districts and possibility the anti-augmentation law as a human rights violation. Of course, they would have needed the evidence.

The United Nations made sure that their investigator didn’t have any problems entering Budapest’s augmented district. And informed them that Alexandra was waiting at a local café called Mehetnék (it meant Wanderlust in English). It used to be a popular place for tourists before the district forced the original owners to sell their café to the government. Now, it was being run by the government. It wasn’t the ideal place to meet, but it seemed less suspicious than meeting at a park. Plus, they had to go to Alexandra’s place to retrieve the file of complaints and reports.

Alexandra was drinking her coffee while waiting for the United Nation’s investigator to show up.

Since the twentieth century, mankind has always made advancements in technology of medicine and
the television to the internet and the nuclear bomb. In 1964, the great minds of our planet met up in
Paris to discuss the possibility of human augmentation. Plastic surgery and implants were becoming more
common as the century was ending. The conference discussed the ethical and moral quandaries of human
augmentation only being made available to wealthy, developed countries. It also talked about the “need”
and “want” in human augmentation, and the potential for human augmentation over the next century. After
the discussions, The Code of Ethics on Human Augmentation was shown to the world.

The world didn't take it seriously since it created standards for a form of technology that is still in
its infancy. And soon after, world leaders at the time were too forced on the second major period of
globalization and scientist began their shift towards global warming. The world soon forgot about the
code until the year 2025. The Digital Revolution was still going strong as holograms are becoming
popular as a form of entertainment. The Middle East finally saw peace for the first time in decades
with the end of the civil war and the defeat of ISIL; however, terrorist attacks are on a rise. NATO
Russian relations are more strained than ever because of the annexation and puppet of Ukraine. The gap
between rich and poor nations got worse with third world countries being affected the most. And the
European Union was on the verge of collage as three more countries left.

However, the world has advanced technologically and more countries are adopting liberal social politics
like same-sex marriage. And suddenly, augmentation started to become popular in the
world. It started with elf ears and then advanced into prosthesis. And the world witnessed cyberware
becoming a fashion statement overnight. Transhumanism starts to become popular with the youth. Russia,
along with several Central and Eastern European countries, made all of them illegal, citing that it was
going against human nature. The augmented citizens are facing discrimination and brutality from both
citizens and police every single day while living in separated districts. At the moment, several
European countries are requesting for a United Nations investigation into the law and whether they are
violating human rights or not.

And if you don't have discord, here's the announcement!

Thanks @Bea for the image!
Banned because that eye is looking at me.
So many posts to read. I am also working on a response.

"protocol three: protect the pilot."
Roadhog stared at the tourists for a moment and looked how tired they were. He thought about how much trouble and trauma that they had to deal. It was unusual for him to care about somebody, especially a group of tourists. But he couldn't leave them to rot away in the hell that Mako made. So, he turned and walked away from both Junkrat and the tourists without saying a word. Roadhog went outside and saw dozens of captured vehicles, knowing that most of them had their parts stripped and sold to other junkers. Regardless, he spent several minutes looking at the hood of a fee dozen tour buses and jeeps until he found one that looked recently stolen. It was a tour bus that looked like it could fit everyone, and the parts haven't been touched. So, it was the tourists' way of escaping back to civilization if there was enough fuel. Roadhog headed back inside and said towards the tourists, "Follow me."

The tourists obeyed his order and followed him outside. Roadhog pointed at the bus and explained, "Get out of here. Go south and you will make it to the border. And then, never come back here again."

As the tourists got on the bus, one of them sat in the driver's seat, looked at Roadhog, and asked, "What happens if we run out of fuel?"

"Then you run."

He watched as the tour bus drove off and believed that they weren’t going to make it to the border. But it was better than leaving them with no chance of surviving. Roadhog pulled out the map of Junkertown and knew it was essential to the plan. Now, they needed something to distract the guards.
