Feel free to lurk as much as you like. And those of you who were accepted, feel free to post your characters in the characters tab.
Alright, after serious deliberation, we're going with @dreamingflowers, @RenegadeRunaway, @Amy and @Lord of Evil's characters. Though there were more than enough good characters, I feel that those are the most likely to produce an interesting group dynamic. I'll start up the IC thread in a day or so - in the meantime, we can hash out any remaining questions, settle character relationships and what not.
I don't see anything about your friendship anywhere on your sheets - not that you need to, but I wouldn't have had any idea if you hadn't told me there. I think I'm gonna read through everyone's sheets one last time, and then decide.
Be sure to let me know if you're changing your sheets, by the way. Judgement day is fast approaching.
@RenegadeRunaway Why would they take a person like that with them to begin with, though? That's the question that needs answering.

Made it a new post. This is my thread, I can double-post if I want to.

@TheWizardLizard Actually, I was talking about The Evil One's character. His sheet specifically says he might poke a beedrill nest just because, especially if someone tells him not to.

@dreamingflowers Ultimately, I don't think your character is the problem here. I'm worried that Lord of Evil and RenegadeRunaway's characters will risk alienating others through antisocial behaviour. BUT that's just a suspicion on my part. I'm mentioning it here because I'm hoping the two of them will explain to me either how I'm misinterpreting their sheets, or how they plan to develop their characters to avoid these problems.

It's fine to have tensions in a group, but when characters don't want to interact with each other, role plays die. If you are hoping to, for example, play the brooding loner type who slowly opens up to the people around her, that usually only works if the other characters constantly take the initiative and approach her, no matter if she turns them away. In my experience, what usually happens is that characters start ignoring the loner and interact with characters who are more fun to be around.

I'm sure you've seen this sort of thing happen in real life.

Now, this sort of thing could still work if the loner quickly realizes she doesn't want to be ignored and alone and essentially comes crawling back to the rest of the group, or if you get together OOC and plan out how the character will be integrated into the party - but it gets very, very difficult if you just do it and hope the other players will catch on to your idea on their own.

@RenegadeRunaway I especially want to know what you're planning. I actually really like the thought of having an aggressive and driven character in the game. I just want to make sure she doesn't scare everyone else off.
No complaints from me! The only people who suffer are the ones who don't make it in.

Well, I might feel a little bad about having to discard a perfectly good character, which it looks like I'll have to do regardless.

EDIT: Actually, that edit was so big I want to alert people to it. I'll make it a new post.
Name: Jack Whateley

Age: 13

Trainer Class: Juggler

Physical Description:
Jack is a young boy of middling height and size, if a tiny bit on the skinny side. He has bushy black hair and large, expressive green eyes. His excellent physical shape is apparent in the way that he moves, always running or bounding from place to place if there's an excuse to do so. He has a handful of scars from acts gone wrong, mostly on his knees, back and lower arms.

Jack usually wears a black vest and pants over a white collared shirt, although he owns a selection of sweatpants and hoodies for workout and practise time.

Personality:
Jack is an absolute clown. Upbeat and laid back, he is always ready to smile and joke. He has no qualms about making a fool of himself to get a laugh, and he'll take any opportunity to ham it up. He tends to gesticulate emphatically when he speaks, his gestures getting wider as he becomes increasingly worked up. While he has no particular interest in becoming a high-ranking Indigo League contestant, he is willing to put in whatever work it takes to reach his own goal - that of becoming a famous performer, putting on shows with his own trained pokémon, on his own private stage in a big city somewhere.

Others might accuse Jack of never taking anything seriously, but he can be incredibly disciplined and dedicated when it comes to his training regimen - Jack is constantly exercising or working on his routines, and he expects his pokémon to do the same. He has no clue how to be a successful trainer, and can come off as a bit of a slave driver when he really gets going. His narrow focus does tend to blind him to what's going on around him, as well, as he's so used to needing nothing more than hard work and a positive outlook, he sometimes forgets to take other people into account.

Background:
Growing up in Fuschia city, Jack join would join the other children in watching the pokémon battles over at the city gym. Where most of the others admired the ninjas, though, Jack fell in love with the flashy style and showmanship of the jugglers, their performances and the pokémon they had trained for the stage. Even as a small child, he knew what he wanted to be. He'd tie blankets around his shoulders and imitate their grand gestures and bombastic tone of voice, as well as put on shows for his friends at school. Sometimes he would fall off the monkey bars, sometimes he would hit himself in the face with the stones he juggled, but his spirit remained undaunted, and as he grew older his antics grew more refined. In the end, his parents had no choice but to surrender and get him some lessons.

Studying under the various pros at Koga's gym, getting the basics down didn't take more than a few years of obsessive practise - but the circus act was only part of the dream. The show-stopping performances Jack tried to emulate all included pokémon, but he had none of his own. All he could do was bide his time, train, and rush over to Pallet town the moment he was old enough.

Just saw it. I'll post my answer here instead, so everyone can see it:

The exact types and moves of your pokémon don't matter all that much. Fights will be handled narratively, and we'll simply assume that type advantages play a part in fights regardless. The point of this game is the adventure itself, and the only thing that's important about the battles is that they're interesting to read. Thanks for bringing it up, though - it's always good to have as much clarification done as possible before the game.
It's not too late. I'll announce the final party when recruitment closes - I don't quite have time to start the game proper at the moment, and I want some time to discuss people's characters before then.
