Hye-Jin Choe

The evening to the night in the Slytherin rooms had been louder than Hye-Jin had liked, with a lot of talking especially to the new members of the house. Hye-Jin had retreated to her room very early into the 'welcome' party as one of the kids had described it, doing some additional studying to get ready for the new lessons before getting to sleep. Once the morning arrived she had mentally prepared for the lessons, knowing that at least some of the students had no idea about her family situation calmed her somewhat although she knew the teachers would be asking questions.

The breakfast spreads were something she never got used to despite her many years away from Fenghuang. Never enough rice, and she had to always look for vegetarian options, but after finally finishing up she packed up and checked her schedule once more. It was her favourite class to begin the year, which immediately put her in a better mood, and she started filing out behind others watching them go off in different directions. Except one girl who seemed to have stopped. Hye-Jin remembered seeing the girl being sorted into Reavenclaw but she was clearly not a first year. The girl was too old for that. It reminded Hye-Jin of herself in a way, as she had also transferred in albeit at a younger age.

Taking advantage of the spread of kids going to different classes, the Korean girl walked over to the stationary new girl and stopped near her, saying "is a bit of a maze this school huh? I got lost when I transferred here" with a polite smile as she looked over at the girl. Giving her the chance to open up if she wanted to.

Curious idea, interested
Classes time sounds good!
@CaptainManbeard thank you for the writeups! I'll clean up/simplify concept as it was more from my own misunderstanding, still likely a feyfolk though
Sorry been a busy last few days and never found time to respond! Still interested though!

As for your character idea, I think I misread it at first when I started typing my reply and then went back and reread and just want to make sure I understand: So, your character is originally from Pixiewick, but was taken outside the concealment barrier into Feyless communities to be auctioned off, and then they caused Feyless to turn into demons, and they were raised to adulthood among the Feyless before returning to Pixiewick as an adult?

If I understand correctly, who did you have in mind to be the person who came into Pixiewick and kidnapped your character? I imagine the magical law enforcement apparatus in Pixiewick would have made a big deal about kids going missing, so whoever it was would have to be magically gifted enough to get into Pixiewick, kidnap your character, and get back out without being tracked or caught. What did you have in mind?

So to widen the idea more, I took the idea of it being a subterranean realm that connects through and built on that. The who's and why's is where the plot could come in or just more fleshing out of the Feyfolk - it had been done on purpose by Feyfolk who take offense at the humans breaking into their realm and see their land as something the Feyfolk could take now. So the character was 'taken' out of the deepest parts of the Fey realm into the human world on purpose to cause hysteria on purpose.

I'm not sure how long ago the barrier/breaking into the Feyfolks realm would have happened but for races to have spawned I imagine it has been a long time? If so I can imagine it being an early case of Feyfolk taking offense at humans and being reasons for a stronger magical law enforcement between the Feyfolk and humans.

As for the staying with a Feyborn living outside of Pixiewick, the character was kept away until she was deemed able to hold a glamour long enough to travel the long distance required to get back to Pixiewick and it has just taken a very long time due to the slow aging. If it's a bit too much though let me know I can make something simpler I just like creating characters that have deeper backstory with plots in them to build off
Ok understood! Idea I had was of a magical being that had been taken beyond the barrier when very very very young to be auctioned off and eventually fell into the hands of someone from Feyborn before they caused a mass turning through exposure. Being raised by the Feyborn before returning back to Pixiewick when old enough (and when the Feyborn was too old to look after them anymore) to live with a friend and eventually to be returned back to any remaining family members they might have after all this time. Creates some plot and also some stories of humans/Feyless interactions that haven't gone as well.
So just making sure I understand completely, the village itself is in the 'normal' world but with a barrier that crosses into a magical world?
This looks interesting! I'm in
I wonder if it's worth doing another check for new players? Or is this one sadly done
So the 6 rolls of duct tape man rather than the 6 million dollar man?
