“Don’t worry Dreamer; we Ascended have been watching your race’s clumsy steps through our universes for some time, even if your people were incapable of discerning our presence.” Kaelin left that remark behind him as he turned away, though his cold demeanour was certainly a front for seething anger underneath. Bastard Dreamer, he would relish the day his creation tore the life-force from its skeletal body. He almost wished he could do it himself… but such things were banned among the Ascended, only one’s own sentient creations may be destroyed, unless they pose some greater threat to the Collective.

He allowed the two individuals to converse and complete whatever pleasantries they had for each other, marvelling at the fact that the prelude to such an important event was to be filled with such meaningless chatter. He sighed inwardly, Politics could be ever so dull, he never should have agreed to represent the other Ascended at this pointless affair.

@Rilla Huh. Does that technically mean that I can make a post of Cho just arriving to check things out? Or must the applicants wait until the four combatants have been selected?

The IC at the moment is sort of a V.I.P lounge for multiverse high tiers, if you have some sort of overarching character to introduce for story reasons that's a good place to put them.

However, lower tiers probably wouldn't be invited.

If this one closes on me this battle is finished Brennus thought humbly, accepting his strengths and weaknesses in a battle with the huge heavily armoured Spartan. His spear had glanced off a hastily thrown down shield and slipped past, catching his opponent’s ear in that strange unpredictable way weapons are deflected. He sensed Caspus was bunching up and preparing to spin around, to what end was unclear though Brennus was quick to determine he didn’t want to be there when he carried out whatever attack he planned. Surprisingly the Spartan was still able to use his spear somehow, despite the weighty shield tugging down the point, such a feat would require incredibly strength. However, even with such strength the attack was sluggish and the Iceni warrior avoided it easily, skipping leftwards and back, allowing him the better target of his foe’s unshielded flank. The spear shot past him as he realised it had been a throw and clattered to the ground off to his right, leaving the Spartan weapon-less.

So here Brennus was, facing down the charging bull, shield primed to batter his body. He held no illusions that should the Spartan collide with him his chances were limited, but the Iceni still held a spear, and the Spartan had ground to cover.

Denying him the use of his shield in defending himself was the most important thing to do at that point. The Iceni had a difficult job ahead of him, trying to pierce that damned metal with a spear-point, but he had to try something. His right foot somewhat forward and his knees a little bent he settled and prepared himself, thrusting his spear with a quick jab down towards his opponent’s right thigh while he was running forward, aiming to skewer him right through the meat. No man could run with his leg impaled on a spear point… could they?

My top moments include:

Starting WotW.

And watching that god damn masterful fight between Lyzan and someone I forgot. Honestly, that was probably the best fight I'd seen on Guild, and to me, really cemented Lyzan as a top guy.

I fought surprisingly little for a guy with my 'reputation'

Riding for free on your damn reputation! Pretty sure we've only fought once and it didn't even finish.

Basically just making comparisons and arguing over who's better in a context that doesn't really make sense and is too free form for someone to gain anything from. You get it -a lot- in nation RP's.

Well the planet eating was hilarious, and I think you hurt someone's feelings when you did that. And I believe it was Sikako. That was a good fight, really good.

That was the hilarious consequence, certainly.

In a nutshell, one of my opponents was some sort of creature attached to its home planet. When it detached to fight someone else I had my character (The god of madness, Daeh) turn into a huge intergalactic apple, float into space, and attempt to consume this home planet. I had no idea if it would actually do anything, I just thought it would be hilarious.

(If you have any questions on why any of these random things happened, feel free to ask, I love talking about this fight.)

My opponent then for some reason assumed I'd force-hit a planet and called a moderator in while I was sleeping, the moderator was a Guild Fighter and looked fairly confused about the situation, decreeing that I hadn't actually done anything wrong.

Weirdly the fight kind of dried up after that, rather than getting some sort of hilarious ending, but it was still fucking hilarious.

Also, Ride of the Valkyries was a specific moment (which I referenced when Rilla talked about his open to anyone challenge a few days back) where my character had a fleet of flying Melons descend upon the battlefield sewing devastation, all to that specific orchestral song. (which was being played by giant speaker-melons.)

To seamlessly change the topic of conversation, thinking back to the God fight made me realise how many awesome moments I've had in Arena (here or elsewhere), and I've been trying to rank the top three, I was wondering if anyone else would care to try and rank their own favorite moments.

My top 3 in no particular order

1. The entire god battle, mainly the Ride of the Valkyries and Eating a Planet (which had hilarious OOC consequences)
2. The Clockwork Man's battle with the Mass Effect universe Bounty Hunter in NOW tournament (I think it was Sikako, honestly can't remember.)
3. Somehow getting to the finals in WOTW, despite the first round being my third ever arena battle and having next to no knowledge of how swords and shields even work, and also being a little underpowered.

There are so many more I'd struggle to name them all, but these are some of my favorite moments.
