Well then, let's hear what people would prefer, @Rhaevnn Xeno, @Mercinus3 and @yoshua171 specifically, since you are the ones that would be immediately affected by the decision: do you want to continue your characters' story imminently, freeing them from their reliance on encountering Aemoten's group but potentially (not assuredly) missing this particular opportunity to join them, or would you rather continue waiting?

I am in the same position as yoshua about this: I am fine with either option though the sooner something happens, the better. There was also the thing that the trio aren't able to leave the city immediately due to the Zerul guards needing to question them about what happened with The Fixer.
Oooh, I spy a @Hellis. Just a heads up I've shot a PM in your direction that could do with your input :)
I can only imagine how thin your patience must have worn by now, Merc, and I'm aware that you and the others have been waiting for far too long, many times as long as I had hoped it would take and even longer than I ever had the imagination to fear it would be; as I just said in my previous post that is one of the reasons that I really can't keep just silently accepting the absence of posts. I haven't heard anything about anyone reacting to anything I've done in such a way, which honestly doesn't do them any favors in my eyes and display a complete lack of willingness to communicate and work towards the good of the RP and its players. That kind of behavior makes me think that such a person was incompatible with the way I run things. Those kinds of issues don't go away on their own, usually... it takes talking to solve them.
(That last part obviously wasn't meant for you, Merc, but for the as of yet anonymous player you mentioned.)

And the thing is, while I would prefer to be the agreeable and understanding GM that endeavors to accommodate everyone, there has to be a point where I say "enough". I am prepared to write out characters if that is what it takes, even if doing so ends up seriously affecting a lot of other characters and players, but I would prefer not to do that and find a different solution instead and wanted to give the people we're waiting for a chance to help finding a solution.

I don't know why people would prefer to try to sabotage the RP rather than talk through what is wrong, but I imagine part of it might come from the fact that people more and more go to Shien with their thoughts and concerns instead of me, making her the one people work with constructively and me the "bad guy" that keep complaining about everything. Now, I'm fine with people going to Shien for most part - she knows a lot about the TP-universe and I have nothing but trust and respect for her - but completely shutting me out just isn't going to work.

So yeah... Here I am, trying one more time to find a way to move forward cooperatively and figure out what the problems causing people to post so very slowly are. And yes, if we can't find the tools to constructively improve the situation, I'm prepared to break out a bulldozer and force things along if needed.

My patience might be worn by the long delay, but a) there's not much I can do about it, b) I was saying that for the others that have been waiting as well and c) I still have some amount of patience left (with another RP that is helping alleviate things). It is through this RP that I've heard about the comments from said player (if they don't come forward to you in either PM or in the OoC, then I might have to drag names into this). I've tried to nag them there but they have since disappeared from the RP's Discord chat. Otherwise, I am definitely in agreement with what you are saying, even suggesting them talking to you.

I can understand the reluctance to do something as writing a character out, especially as it would affect many people who are involved with that character. However, it is sometimes necessary to think about trying to please the majority of the people you are with than the few, especially if something doesn't work out. But I do agree that people should at least try to solve a problem and not shut someone who could solve the problem out.

-------

It's certainly not a problem, Yoshua. Much like what Rhae has said, I'm eagerly waiting to see what happens with the Zerul Trio. I do enjoy the dynamics of the group and would like to see how it plays out, especially when it comes to The Fixer.
Writing this message from my phone as my Internet is a bit dicey at the moment.

As one of the people who had been waiting for some progress in the RP for over nine months, I think it had now come to the point where if there is waiting for a particular person to respond that it is time to move on and just write out the characters that are holding up the RP. Although not naming names or throwing people under the bus, but I have been told by one of the RPers here that there was something written in one of your posts that ruined them the wrong way and was holding back from writing a response as a result. Even as I mentioned to them that there were people who have been waiting months to be back in the RP. As they are refusing to pay ball and think about other players, then writing them out is now the only option until they can resolve any issues that they are facing.

As one said, I'm not aiming to throw people under the bus, but when myself, @yoshua171 and @Rhaevnn Xeno have been waiting for almost a year to post in this RP, some people's patience are close to running out.

A Man Out of Time #3: The Hounds’ Bark Is Nothing To a Wolf’s Bite

Time: Present day, Night time
Location: Pacific Point, California

Still clutching his right shoulder, the bleeding slowing to an ooze, The Wanderer walked sluggishly through the streets. The adrenaline had worn off not too long ago and the ache from the injury was starting to grate on him a bit. His coat was caked in his own blood all the way down to the ground, leaving a small trail of congealed blood in his wake. He had dealt with bullet wounds before, but with the limited supply and type in the future, the mutant wasn’t familiar with the hollow-point that managed to stop in his shoulder, embedding itself in his collar bone when he got a barrier up to stop it from causing more damage that it had done already. I’ll need to have a look at this when there is natural daylight, he thought. While it would be better for him to go to the hospital to get it treated, he couldn’t as he was still getting around in this period. He also needed more information on what is the social norm as being both an outcast of his people and this time has left a gap in his knowledge.

Finding a residential street, The Wanderer scanned the area for a place to hunker down for the night. However, the sound of marching boots in the area got him on his guard, even drawing his revolver from its holster. He was not surprised that there were more Hounds of Humanity on him, though their response to his appearance did surprise him a little. What also surprised him was the size of the group, 25 pairs of black boots with military weapons in hand. One of them spoke up to the injured man, “While you had to jump on our comrades, you will not get away from your fate, meta-scum!”
---------------
While the injured man had walked away from the previous fight scene that resulted in an innocent life being saved, the cosmic being followed. So this is the time traveler? it thought, the musings only audible in its conscience. It had sensed the man’s presence from a great distance away and while it didn’t compare to the vast strength of its own, the wolf had seen the man showing a great deal of aptitude in using such a force. While it still needed to see more of what he was capable of, there was a strong interest. This man.. The Wanderer… shows a lot of great potential, moreso than many of the avatars I have created. However, the cosmic being noticed a difference in The Wanderer’s psionics that even it questioned. His abilities… they seem to be overwhelmed by the abundance of energy produced on this world. The cosmic being definitely noticed something that the mutant wasn’t aware of. The world he came from seemed to be dying and lacked the energy that this current timeline had. It was this bottlenecking in the mutant’s power that the wolf had refrained from personally contacting him personally. It will, however, keep a watchful eye on him for the future for the moment when his full potential is unlocked. Could he be the one?

Its musings were stopped when the men in the black uniforms arrived. “While you had to jump on our comrades, you will not get away from your fate, meta-scum!” It was then that the men started firing on The Wanderer. The mutant raised a huge barrier around him that stopped the bullets from reaching him, the rounds flattened like a pancake as they bounced to the floor. Would he now resort to the violence he refrained himself from using before? it thought, watching on from the sidewalk. The question came shortly afterwards when The Wanderer phased through the energy to the nearest man, slicing the man’s side open with the psionic-blade projection before shooting another with his revolver. However, the Hounds of Humanity were better prepared for such a thing as they quickly aimed their weapons to continue firing. While the mutant had raised his barriers from getting hit by the full barrage of bullets, a few managed to get through and hit him. He sank down onto his left knee as the left thigh had been hit by two rounds and another hit his torso, though the torso shot was absorbed by the armour that protected him.

It was when the men started to approach him to go for a melee kill that both psionic users felt it. The wolf instantly changed its gaze towards the center of the city, where the presence was felt. Now that is an interesting presence, it thought, its musings now more aloud than they had been before that anyone with psionics could hear them. It felt the huge ripples through the psionic aether, causing anyone who could see the energy to see distortions in it. The ripples could not be felt by anyone that was inclined to such a seismic event and, therefore, were unable to identify the location of it. However, for the cosmic being that was made with the energy, it was easy for it to identify the location. Who caused such an event where a previous psionic user could possess another? It didn’t take it long before it reached into the mind of someone still alive and gathered information from what seemed to be a Hound driven to pure fear. Ah, so the one called Voyager was the root of this. They will be another being that will…

“What the hell is that thing?1”
-------------
The Wanderer had been hurting bad. The bullets ripped through his left thigh and left him hobbled to one knee. While the barrier had kept him alive for this long through the relentless assault from the Hounds, the blood loss that he was sustaining from his injuries was concerning him. While the injuries made his psionics stronger, that will be for nothing if he lost consciousness. He saw the men drawing closer, looking ready to go for the kill by hand. Much like before, the barrier would keep them at bay but for how long? Suddenly, he felt something through his psionic eye that left him distracted, looking the event’s general direction. A thought came into his mind, Now that is an interesting presence. A new voice alarmed him. With his full concentration on keeping himself alive with his barriers, he was vulnerable to a telepathic attack from this unknown voice, even if it seemed like a general comment about what just happened. While the bullets were still pounding on the barrier, the other being’s voice had been talking about something that he didn’t understand. However, something did catch his attention. Ah, so the one called Voyager was the root of this. They will be another being that will…
“What the hell is that thing?!”

Through the mentioning of Voyager and a random Hound’s outburst, The Wanderer began looking around to see what they were talking about. The flaming blue wolf certainly grabbed his attention. While the sight of it was certainly surprising, he had been surprised by the sheer amount of psionics that emanated from it. The close proximity of it was almost blinding and he thought that even then, this unknown being was holding back its power. It was then it dawned on the mutant that this might be the same presence that was felt hours ago and thought he recognized what it was. However, that didn’t matter as several of the Hounds also noticed it and began firing on it. The bullets seemed to have hit the wolf, but it remained unphased as they passed through and peppered the wall behind it. The only thing that the men had done with their sudden attack to have done was piss it off.

FOOLISH MORTALS! HOW DARE YOU ATTACK ME!

The wolf’s eyes shone purple flames from it, the sudden spike in power visible in the torrent of turbulent ripples in The Wanderer’s psionic eye. Another shining light shone from the air above it that was large. In his regular eye, a large flaming portal of purple appeared in space above the wolf. Moments later, a gigantic tentacle appeared through it, thick as a school bus that tapered to a point. With the snarl of the wolf, the arm began its tremendous swing, ripping up the tarmac that was swinging through. Realizing he was in the arms path, The Wanderer let down his barrier and looked to an area out of the impeding attack’s path. He phased out of the way in time.

When he looked back, he dropped to his knees in the sheer terror at the result of the attack. The tentacle had ripped up the road, completely covering the area that the Hounds had been in. Those closest to the swing had turned into streaks of blood and bone. Those closest to the other side of the swing had also been road rashed but their bodies had been completely annihilated by the compaction between the tentacle and the buildings, huge splashes of blood streaking the side of the building that came from the mangled bodies that were almost unidentifiable. The buildings somehow remained standing but the structural damage done was great, the walls crumbled by the impact and the glass completely shattered on the first floor. The mutant certainly thought that even with his barriers, such an impact would have completely shattered it and he would have ended up as one of those bodies. Yet, he dared to thing that even with this display of force that this was just a small fraction of the wolf’s power. Relax, you would have been able to have survive that attack with your barriers, He looked back at the wolf, he remained on his knees as it walked towards him. You did not attack me so you were not the target, Wanderer.

The mutant had been stunned by the wolf’s speech. First of all, the attack had not been intended to harm him in his barriers? Secondly, how did such a being know who he was without revealing it? Him being stunned by not only this, but it cemented his thoughts on what it was. ”Not for me?” he stammered, still processing everything that he had just witnessed. ”You must have been the being that I sensed when you arrived. You are the one that makes psionics possible. You are The Psionic Nexus, no?”

The wolf remained calm as he spoke. You are an observant one at that, psionic user. As for who I am, you can call me whatever you wish. I have been called by many names on multiple worlds. The Psionic Nexus gazed directly into the mutants eyes, the expanse within its own showing its deep thought. While you may have many questions for me, your current destiny is not to meet me and converse about everything that I hold domain. For now, you need to find the one that had shown great psionic power in this city, the one you felt too. The name you seek is called Voyager. Before The Wanderer could even ask about the cryptic task that the wolf had said, it vanished to all of his senses. His psionic eye had seen the presence disappear into thin air, leaving him in the death and destruction that was left behind.
Kayla is alive and breathing, with little Archie to boot. I've updated her profile to include the familiar.

EDIT: Need to include mentions to @Dedonus, @Hound55 and @nitemare shape

Target Locked #1: The Golden Hunt Begins

Location: Speeding towards the Financial District, Lost Haven
Time: Coming up to Midday (11:05am)

Using her motorbike, Fletch sped through the city. The gang war in Chinatown had made it difficult for her to get out of the district, especially with the police embargo that had surrounded it to prevent anyone from passing through. However, with the help of War-Pulse and, especially, Evergreen, she managed to slip through and was on her way to getting to the place where the person responsible for the demolition of Chinatown’s block via high-tech drones: Midas. Her ability in recalling the license plate of the van used to seize, the contacts that the mercenary had were enough to track down who was using it shortly after the explosion. While that took some time for the information to come to the surface, the plant-based meta had helped her get sorted out with her pursuits in becoming a better hero/vigilante. The first major thing was a concoction for her to drink. At first nothing had happened baring a bad taste in her mouth but shortly after consuming it, she felt her body change that felt unpleasant. Once the feeling subsided, nothing was noted as being different. However when something fell off the tree, it became apparent that Kayla’s agility had been improved dramatically, her new-found agility increase able to maneuver quickly to catch it in time.

While zooming towards the Financial District in broad daylight, far from ideal in her case, she felt something nestle in her top. While she needed to get to Midas Industries, she needed to sort something out so she slowed her bike to a stop in a quiet street. Lifting her helmet off of her head she looked down at her chest, her left hand reaching under her top. After a couple of seconds, a small, plant-based marsupial crawled over her left arm onto her shoulder. The second major thing that Evergreen provided was a plant familiar for her to use. The familiar, although small, is agile like her and provides something that she thought would come in handy in the foreseeable future: seeds that combust into an impressive explosion when coming into hard contact to a surface. ”Come on, Archie,” she calmly spoke to the familiar. ”Nestling there is not helping me concentrate on the road. Hop into one of my trouser pockets.” Much to her pleasure, the plant marsupial followed her instructions and clambered into her lower right trouser pocket. Once the creature settled into place, she revved the engine and sped off in the direction of Midas Industries.

---------

Half an hour later…

Location: Plaza outside of Midas Industries, Lost Haven.
Time: Coming up to Midday (11:35am)

The building that Midas Industries was certainly impressive when seen in person, Kayla concluded, eyes looking up and down the building from her perch alongside an apartment complex nearby, far back from the plaza that separates the two buildings. Reaching into her right trouser pocket, she pulls out her first aid kit and opens it up. Overlooking all the medical stuff that was inside the small zip-up bag, she pulls out a small telescope that she kept in there just in case she needed to do something like this. The telescope had been with her since she started archery and used it to check the target for her arrows at distances similar to what she is using it for now. Keeping to the shadows of the building’s fire escape, she snaps open the scope and scanned the front of the building. For the ten minutes she had been there already, nothing but passers-by walked passed the entrance of the building with the occasional employees of the building walking in to carry on with their work.

Moments later, one car pulled up alongside the building. Focusing in on the car, she watches as Richard Midas, the man who created the empire, step out of the car. A moment later, Kayla smirked. ”Gotcha,” she muttered. The woman that she saw fighting War-Pulse before the drone strike stepped out, recognizing her face through the telescope. Seeing the woman, whom Evergreen called Racheli, with Midas confirmed what War-Pulse’s contacts had dug up. She wouldn’t put it past her that it was Midas Industries that had created the two drones that levelled the buildings around the two battling metas, staging it as a gas explosion that the mercenary caused. Right now, she thought about confronting Midas about the explosion that had nearly killed her, politely forcing the conversation with an arrow aimed at his head. However, she didn’t know what the meta would do. In fact… For someone who had been kidnapped, she seems to be walking freely and not attacking her captor. Something seemed off about the whole thing as she watched the two walk through the doors of the building.

Snapping the telescope shut, Kayla frowned in thought. Right now, she has two options in going forward. The first option had been to enter the building to confront the two. That option, although would resolve the issue there and then, had a lot of drawbacks. Firstly, if the drones were anything to go by, the security protecting the building might have advanced technology that would prove getting through difficult. Secondly, bypassing the security to get to where Midas is would be advanced that it would take time Fletch didn’t have to get through it. Thirdly, judging by how Racheli was following the whims of the CEO, the meta she is there to rescue is under his thumb and is ordered to attack. Finally, if she was able to do all of that and get Racheli out of there, she would paint a huge target on her back from not only Midas but the entire LHPD that still had a problem with her breaking in and brutally beating one of their prisoners. With the Penose out there already targeting her, that was something she would have great difficulty in living with. It does, however, make things more exciting that the other option. She had concluded that if Racheli has been taken by Midas, he would have her kept in a safehouse out of public view. She was willing to bet what would have been her place in future Olympic competitions that that’s where they came from and simply stalking the pair back to their place would reveal where the meta was kept. Midas would be out of sight and mind for her to talk to the meta and get her out of his grasp.

Juggling over the two options, she turned to Archie who was sitting on the railing just above her head and soaking in the sun’s light. ”What do you think, Archie? Should I go in the building and try to get Racheli out?” The marsupial looked from its perch to the building, look back at her and shuddered, shaking it head whilst doing so. With her face falling flat in disappointment, she slumped her back to the wall. ”Well, you’re no fun.”

I will add more questions later, mebbe.

Just a heads up that after discussions last night, I've amended an IC post that removed the physical effects of the earthquakes that The Psionic Nexus's arrival produced and made it more of an effect as a result of the psychic shockwave (an idea suggested by Dedonus and Indy).
