Raven watched the group as they laid down their weapons and a look of almost surprise crossed her eyes. She looked at them for a moment before returning the arrow to its quiver and held the bow loosely in one hand before she smiled slightly. “Autumn hu? I’d make some kind of joke, asking if your parents were hippies or something, but I suppose Raven isn’t much better is it?” She looked around at the group and then back to Sophia. “Yeah, Star was a circus show pony, you know, before all this.” She looked at the group for a moment before shaking her head.

“Look… it doesn’t matter if you guys really were just passing through, that you meant no harm, the fact that I got you all to surrender is… a little concerning. I’d say sorry for threatening you, but you can never be too careful.” She bent over and picked up the gun, handing it back to Sophia. “Never let your guard down.” Strange, that she was so openly ignoring her own advice, but Raven figured if these guys had meant her harm they would have done so already, same as she probably would have shot them if she had intended to already.

But it looked like a group of three girls, one of them a kid and a young man. She would have felt a little bad taking him out. She could see the young girl, Ashley, looking at Star and she smiled softly. “It’s alright, you can come and pet her if you like. Sophia is right, she’s a very calm girl, she’s used to being around kids.” Turning back to the others her look became a little more serious. “So where are you guys headed? Do you have a plan or something?” It was still early days, but a group like this would need some kind of plan if they had any hope of surviving.
Star watched placidly as Sophia got out of the car and turned her head towards her, bumping the girl with her nose affectionately. Star had been a show pony since she had been very young; being placid was part of the job requirement since she was often working in loud, unpredictable situations so she had to be able to be around people, young kids and things that may startle other horses without panicking. As such a stranger didn’t bother her at all. Her ears flickered every now and then and her head turned back towards the forest as she heard her owner’s voice.

From her place hidden amongst the trees Raven raised her bow as she saw the blonde woman approach Star and she tensed as she placed her hand on the horse’s neck. However she looked anything but hostile; didn’t seem overly on edge and hadn't gone for her stuff, even though she had clearly seen it. The question now, was how to approach this situation. She raised her bow, keeping it taught and on the girl as she finally called out. “Put your hands up and step away from the horse and I won’t shoot!”

Creeping forward slowly she quickly caught sight of the guy on top of the car and her eyes moved quickly back to the blonde woman. “I don’t want any trouble, just leave my stuff and my horse alone and we can-” She stopped mid sentence when she saw a young, brunette girl standing a few metres from Star. Lowering the bow Raven slowly emerged from the forest, looking from the blonde girl to the brunette in apparent shock. “Oh my gosh you guys have a kid?” She looked at the guy on the car, her eyes narrowing slightly as she tried to determine if she’d be able to take him out before he did her.

The chances of him having any kind of javelin training was decidedly low, making that spear an impractical ranged weapon. However the girl much closer to her had a gun, which required a little less skill to be effective with and was decidedly harder to dodge. “I don’t want trouble.” Raven repeated though she kept her bow in her hands, ready just in case. “I just want my horse and my stuff and I’m happy for us to go our spate ways.”
I will see what I can do ;)
The sun was beating down but the wind was keeping her cool. Raven looked around the empty road as they passed another wreckage of cars, keeping an eye out for the dead, although Star seemed to have a very good sense for those things and would often get very edgy if any were around. Right now she was calm. The constant clopping of hooves had become rather reassuring and almost comforting amongst the silence of the wilderness. It was starting to get difficult to remember how noisy the world used to be, traffic, construction, music, thousands of people talking. Heck she even kind of missed the sound of planes flying overhead.

It was strange to think not too long ago she had been headed into Las Angeles to perform. The circus convoy hadn’t made it that far when the outbreak had occurred, and she figured a highly populated area was probably somewhere she wanted to avoid. Less people; less dead people. So she was headed out for the wilderness. She had more than enough camping and survival experience to survive out there on her own. So for now the noises of her horsey companion were enough for now, to the point where they were becoming familiar almost to the point where she didn’t hear them.

However there was one call she couldn’t ignore. Pulling Star over to the side of the road Raven slid off and looped her reins over a tree branch, tying them off lose enough that the horse could run if she felt the need to, but also enough so that she didn’t wonder off and then quickly headed into the surrounding forest. She remained alert for sounds of anything moving as she tended to her business however stopped when she heard the sound of cars approaching. “Oh shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot.” The girl muttered as she quickly pulled up her pants and began half running, half stumbling back towards the road.

Star was still on the side of the road and she had no idea what a group would do if they found her. Best case they’d just take all her stuff, that was is they stopped. Worst case they’d kill her or something horrible like that. Drawing her bow she notched an arrow and put tension to the string, drawing it back and crouching down as she began slowly approaching the road as she kept an eye out for any signs of movement that may be unfriendly.

Name: Raven Victora Sutter
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Family: Mother, Father, Brother all unknown. Boyfriend; deceased

Personality: Raven was a very fun-loving kind and compassionate girl before all of this started, where she always thought about others first and put their needs before her own, though this often led to people taking advantage of her kind-hearted nature, especially once the outbreak happened. Since then she has become colder, less led by her emotions. She doesn’t trust easily and keeps mostly to herself and is unwilling to put her life on the line, or risk it for others. If she thinks someone is an immediate threat to her life she will put them down, living or otherwise. If they present a potential to be a liability later down the track she is very likely to either move on or remove the problem. However, as the saying goes a leopard can’t change its spots.

Bio: Growing up Raven was taught hunting, tracking, camping and survival skills at a very young age by her father, who had wanted a boy. So when her brother came along, when Raven had turned six, he became the centre of their father’s world. She tried for the next eight years to earn her father’s respect and admiration and shunned all of the lessons in being a wife her mother tried to teach her and surpassed her brother in everything they were taught mostly to being so much older. But it didn’t matter to him. At fourteen she ran away from home and joined a travelling circus.

There she found everything she’d learned proved to be almost useless except for horse riding and archery. However she quickly took to most of the things taught to her and became quite skilled in almost all of the traits, eventually getting her own act as a trick pony rider who shot targets. She even had a long term boyfriend, Tyler, who ended up becoming her partner. The circus had been travelling to Los Angeles when the outbreak occurred.

When the outbreak occurred she took her horse, her bow, as many arrows as she could carry and fled with Tyler, the pair making their first stop at a camping outlet where they picked up a lightweight tent, water and any other camping supplies they could get their hands on. He died trying to save her from a group they met a week into the outbreak who had been attempting to kill him, rape then kill her and steal their horses and equipment. He had managed to take out two of the four before he’d gone down and she’d taken out the last two.

It was at that point she’d lost all hope in humanity and decided she didn’t need anyone else, that she could survive on her own. However Raven suffers from a naturally low immune system, meaning that no matter how much she doesn’t want to have to rely on others she had to. She got really sick and a new group took her in, raised her back to full health. They had been attacked by a group of walkers a few days later and her first act had been to get on her horse and ride off, leaving them to their fate.

She is currently on the road once again, trying to make her way out into the countryside, maybe the mountains. Anywhere remote enough that humans and, hopefully, walkers couldn’t make it out to.

Job Before The Outbreak: Circus acrobat
Disability/Fear: Naturally low immune system.
Weapon of Choice: Bow and Arrow
Would I be able to join?
Anyone else feel free to post (you can finish the CS at any time if that's what you're worried about.
It was cold here, not temperature wise, but the room was lifeless. Bright fluorescent lights shone down from above, illuminating the dark steel and stone. There was a small amount of natural light coming in through the entrance from the side of the mountain, but it wasn’t enough to make it feel homely. Yet this was home now. Holding onto the small bag of clothes she’d brought with her Rylla looked around. “It’s the old transport bay.” The woman beside her explained. She turned to look up to her, standing beside her in a strange costume.

She tried to look for some kind of warmth in those eyes, but there wasn’t much there either. “We used to store old kinds of vehicles here before we moved, but they came with us. It’s okay though, it’s not like any of you can drive anyway.” Rylla looked at her curiously before she returned to looking around the room. The woman beside her shifted uncomfortably as did the large bird on his shoulder. “Don’t worry; the rest should be here soon.” She said evenly, her voice was smooth and calm. You. They. The people she was referring to were more people around her age who were to become Rylla’s ‘teammates’.

The ‘she’ in question was named Quinn, and the bird’s name was… Valor, she believed and was some kind of bird of prey but she had never been a bird expert. Quinn had not said much during their time together, short as it had been. She was a hero, though she didn’t have any super powers she was still a hero. She had amazing skill with a crossbow, and it was rumoured that she could communicate with Valor. But Rylla was too shy to ask. All she knew was that the pair shared an extremely close bond.

Quinn had been nice enough to let her stay in her house whilst they had been getting this place ready, but Quinn’s house was small, and she wasn’t ready to take care of a teenager. The base had been fitted out with rooms for her to live in, and any of the others if they so choose to. She had admitted she wouldn’t be of use to teach her how to use her powers either, since she hadn't an ounce of magical blood in her body. But Rylla would have been able to tell that for herself. She could tell when people had magical abilities. They just had a different aura about them.

The bird on Quinn’s shoulder suddenly tensed, turning to look at the entrance to the cave and Quinn turned slowly. “Well… first of the arrivals is here.” She looked down to the young brunette at her side, clutching that thick book tightly to her chest. “Just relax Rylla, you’ll be fine.”
There were other people in the area but all were still as they watched Ruby walk into the middle of the pit. “Where have you been, Ruby?” The voice called, though still seemed to have no visible origin. It was definitely a male voice, quite masculine one at that and he sounded amused now, rather than enraged as it had been only a minute ago.

Ruby, didn’t seem afraid of him, though this was simply a very well put on façade. If anything the calm voice was scarier than the angry one. But she merely shrugged casually before replying. “There was a new denizen arriving. I went to collect him and explain how things are run here.”

The very air seemed to lighten at this comment, it was a strange feeling, she could have likened it to feeling to feeling amused herself, had she not been so impartial at that moment. “Very well, you may go. Maybe I will meet this new denizen later, so do not venture too far. Hmm?”Ruby folded one of her arms under her stomach as she bent at the waist and bowed and swept the arm out extravagantly before she turned and began walking back to Max. At the last few steps she ran just a little and she let out a soft sigh before smirking slightly at him.

“That was just a little too close for my liking.” She said as she moved past him. “I think we better get you out of here.” This particular tunnel was very short with a slight incline. All round them one could see, what appeared to be, a small wood log cabin at the end, even though there had been no trees at in some years. Ruby let herself in and walked to the back of the small room quickly. There was not a lot in there to take note of; a wooden table with some chairs around it, a few makeshift beds, a rug on the floor and that was about it.

Ruby was still standing in front of the back wall, which seemed to have nothing special about it, still obviously expecting him to follow.
Ashe looked to the cat and groaned in protest, but pushed herself to her feet. As Blake hesitantly approached her she shook her head firmly. “I can manage.” She promised as she sloshed through the water after the cat, Isabel and Ryder, giving one last look to the cover to the entrance of the sewers before she began trudging along in the foul water. It was dark down here, and with the sun on its decent in the sky above it was starting to get colder. Ashe began wondering just how cold it was going to get down here once night fell.

The tunnel wasn’t changing in size or anything like that, at least not that Ashe could see and she was concentrating so much on the simple task of putting one foot in front of the other that she didn’t notice how much time passed or where they were going. She found her mind wondering, trying to figure out what the hideout would look like before they got there. A few things passed through her mind, one was that maybe they had made their home within a large flood chamber within the sewers but she swiftly dismissed that.

It was too impractical. Every time there was heavy rain the hideout would be flooded. Hundreds of people would die. Her mind too fuzzy to concentrate on the task for long she eventually gave up and once again began focusing on putting one foot in front of the other.
