A small knock on the frame drew Pearleane's attention to the boy standing there. "Do y' mind if I sit?" He asked as a smile came on his face and his gaze went to the whiteboard. Pearleane smiled, looking to Dani, "I don't mind if she doesn't" Pearleane chirped, as Dani nodded her consent deciding the final decision. Pearleane's full attention went back to Dani as she began scribbling on the white board again. “I suppose that you could say that,” it read “I was born mute.” Pearleane felt instantly upset about what she had commented. Her expression must have been apparent to Dani as the next thing she wrote on the board was the follow: “Don’t feel bad. You didn’t know. And I’m okay with that,” Pearleane's lips pouted slightly, "I'm still sorry for being rude." she admitted looking Dani into her bright eyes. “So what are you guys most excited about?” Dani wrote next and Pearleane didn't wait for the boy to answer before speaking her mind. "Cute guys!" Pearleane gushed with a laugh, "Just kidding." she added, her eyebrows lowering a bit to seem serious. "I guess I am excited to learn new things. I'm not the best at learning, but I try hard!" the young girl said, looking to the boy to answer Dani's question next. Whilst they waited, she pulled out the jelly beans from her purse and offered some to Dani.
I'm totally going to have the Pastor not knowing his age a running gag through out the roleplay now.
Yeah, first time in the church for the freakishly tall albino. Good start good start xD doing it only for the carnival lol Edit: that's so awesome xD
I'm sure the pastor knows his mom though- I can see the pastor trying to work out things in his head "Is that kid 18? I can't remember.." and his wife just like "Does it really matter??" "YES" "Why" "Because I said so!"
It was great ^^ I just find it funny that Alver is actually 19. Alver: I don't know what you're talking about. I'm totally 18. You rebel.
;) Intentional intentional. I see the pastor saying 18 extra pronounced LOL OH- and you know, Fox- I was watching this show on Netflix; and I saw someone A HUMAN, NOT AN ANIME :O that reminded me of your character and I half was like "Omg I am a nerd for thinking about this while I'm watching a show.." and the other half was like "This is awesome!"
Hope my post was good ^^; I only made it about 10 kids in our aged group cause I figured the town isn't THAT big to have like 50 or more people there.. As for the other aged groups, I was thinking there was probably 10-15 kids in those groups. I can see most people bringing their families themselves- but the people who had the late night shift or other things to do would drop their kid off at the church like a day care of a sense haha
Reyna had been helping to prep for the youth night all day. Most people didn't realize how much stress and dedication from being the church's leaders were. Pastor Robert Carlson had been going around town all day making deals with the carnival vendors to get a little deal for the kids attending tonight. His wife Priscilla had been busy cooking little snacks and making lemonades and punches alike. Reyna had been torn between the two; both helping her mother and going with her father when he needed her to put the extra puppy dog eyes. The turn out tonight seemed that their efforts were well worth spent.
"Attention!"
the pastor called to the rowdy group of children ranging from 10-18. A few people remained talking, as Priscilla and Reyna joined the head of the house towards the center of the room. As attention drifted towards them, the room became more silent and Robert cleared his throat before starting his announcement. "Welcome to our 5th annual youth night carnival experience!" a few claps and cheers escaped before he continued, "We are so blessed tonight, we have had the highest amount of people attending tonight than we have ever had!" husband and wife grinned and Reyna copied them in enjoyment. Reyna enjoyed these type of nights, youth nights had been a cess pool of insults and hatred towards one another any other Friday night. "I'd like to inform you all that I have managed to get every single person here 5 free tickets! These tickets can be used for ride, foods, or games. That I will leave up to you." People started to talk again and the Pastor raised his hands, "Hey now, I'm not finished!" he said, with a little bit of a harsh tone to his voice. "Because of our attendance numbers tonight we had two volunteers tonight to help us out. We will be separating into smaller groups. 10 to 12 years olds will go with Mrs. Anne, go ahead and wave Anne!" the woman waved as the appropriate age kids started to move towards her, and she gave the appropriate number of tickets to each kid. "13 to 15 year olds will go with Mr. Erick over there, go ahead and wave to them as well Erick." he commented, and the kids followed the same suite. "For the 16-18 aged kids, I can assume you do not need any type of supervisor at the carnival but please stick with your group as much as you can, make sure everyone is included and having a good time.." he commented, looking around the room directly at some of the newer faces, Alver included. Handing a roll of tickets to Reyna, the pastor rattled on, "You guys can get your tickets from my daughter Reyna." a few snickers came from some of the older boys, and the man cleared his throat. "More importantly have fun tonight, and if you can- encourage a few new people to come to church to our Saturday and or our Sunday service." Priscilla piped up ending the announcement, "See you at the carnival!" As people dispersed, Robert and Priscilla began cleaning up the leftovers of food and any trash that been littered, before heading into the church to deal with some things before their own departure. Reyna stepped to the side as she started to hand out tickets to the people in her age group, "Here you go." she stated every once in a while, a weak smile plastered on her face as she gave to some of the people who purposely made her life so badly. The church cleared out pretty fast, leaving about 10 people around her age in the church. Most people went by themselves when they got to be older, or they we're going tonight with their family.
Fear not, I am here! xD I know all about youth nights and the like. My boyfriend is actually a pastor's son. :x
So the only boy who could ever reach you was the son of a preacher man? (ohgodpleasetellmeyou'veheardthesong)
Being good ain't always easy- no matter how hard I try!

That means you will probably note everything we did wrong xD which is quite alright
xD Hahaha, no- I wouldn't do that. Besides, every church is different with how they do things. Some make it very bible study oriented and some just get together with the youth and do things kids-teens usually do (play games, go to events, etc) cause their parents would rather have them in a 'good crowd' type of setting rather than going out with some other kids to drink or smoke, etc.

Biography: Everyone had told Iris' mom (Jane) that she had been idiotic and selfish to bring a child into the world at a time like this. "You're no better than the langue for doing this to not only our group, but that thing!" her husband (Bryan) yelled at her, like he hadn't added to the making of this child. News flash, he had. The two fought and fought, making the morale of their original Alabama raised rag tag group of survivors tired and their morale lower. "If you don't want this child, you don't want me!" Jane screamed at the group, as they had to stop for the eighteenth time that night traveling for her to relieve her bladder. The group nodded,

"You're right. We don't."

Jane was left on the side of the road as the group and her once beloved husband left her to die. Jane found refuge in another group traveling by many weeks later. She had been close to death, surviving by scrounging for food and water off the floors of abandoned trailer homes. She found comfort with another mother of this group that had rescued her, This woman had been carrying a child who was no more than 2 years old at the time of their meeting.

Iris was born on a November night on the floor of a gas station. Her mother gagged to stop the screaming to not cause too much attention from the langue that lurked under the ground waiting for their next victim. "Come on Jane"! the woman whispered harshly, her hand gripping tightly in encouragement. The rest of the group looked on, gathering what supplies they could as well as keeping an eye out for other people that might cause trouble. After about 30 minutes Iris was born, her cries met with different reaction than most children. "Shut her up!" a man growled, and the woman took action. Taking Iris and trying to quiet her.

The almond eyed baby looked up at this woman with a sense of comfort and the woman smiled, "Oh Jane, she's beautiful." she whispered, looking down at the friend she had made in the six months they had been together. "Jane?" the woman asked when she had no response. Jane was unresponsive. "Help!" the woman called out to her group, and was responded with the words she did not expect. "We have to go!" another man called, "They are coming, they are here!" A cracking in the tile gas station floor revealed a gaping hole.

A langue reached out it's tongue and rolled around Jane's lifeless face. The woman stared in horror, unable to move. It then sunk it's teeth into Jane's face, quickly, returning back into it's hole. "There will be more! HURRY!" another woman of the group grabbed Iris and the arm of the shocked woman.

They began to move up onto the roof of the building as quickly as they could. All they could do was watch as the langue fed off anything and anyone that was down on the ground. "I'm so sorry" the young woman said to Iris as she held her own child in one arm and the new born baby in the other. "We'll take care of you" she said, her young son exploring the infant himself.

She kept her promise.

The woman raised Iris as best as she could for as long as she could. Iris had her mother's stubbornness and her father's temper. She was a handful for the woman, but she would never give up. She would not let a few tantrums and a few given whoopings' break her.

The boy would be raised right along side Iris, the two became close and thought of one another as brother and sister. He was protective of Iris, even though she would never admit it, she'd tell everyone she took care of him- if anything. By the time Iris was 10, they had made their way to South Carolina, losing all of their group including the woman and man that had raised her in a day that would only be referred to as "the day".

Together the two remaining souls of the group made their way up to Virginia before they would be met with the group they would now join- for who knows how long, and if they would make it to Maine- where the rumored safe land was.
