Once Ben and Kijani arrive at Anthony's house, Ben parks the car, opens the passenger door for Kijani, then leads the way to Anthony's porch. Ben knocks on the door after a brief, yet deep, breath. Anthony, now dressed, it sitting at his dining room table when he hears a knock at the door. He taps the screen of his phone a few times before a feed from the hidden camera on his porch appears. Upon seeing Kijani and some fool in a costume, Anthony speaks into his phone, his voice carrying through to the porch, "Will both of you please place your right index finger on the door bell, one at a time?"Ben glances at Kijani, then shrugs and causes his suit to retract from his finger. After placing it on the door bell, his suit returns as Ben looks at Kijani and says, "Might as well humor him."

"Hey, it's not paranoia if people are really out to kill you." She pressed her finger to the bell as well, figuring Anthony had some kind of fingerprint reader beneath it. Her first instinct was to tell him that those were not foolproof, but she had the feeling that he had thought of that years ago and circumvented it. Besides, there were bigger things at hand. Though, if all went according to plan, he probably would need all the security he could get for the future. "Can we get on with this, please, my honorable shifu?" Her voice was laced with mild sarcasm. "The evening awaits."

Kalinda looked up as Devika approached and gave her a smile, figuring to be friendly "hey" she said as She reached out to Nacelle, decided not to try and heal, but rather just took away the pain, and locked it away for release later. She tried to ignore how good it felt to take someone else's emotions, and gave Nacelle a smile "well, you might be stiff but the pains gone"

"Kalinda..." Devika bit her bottom lip before slowly speaking. Her voice was low and nervous. "When you pull emotion from people, have you ever absorbed something... deeper?"
Devika struggled toward the dorm, feeling rather raw and drawn out. Her head was still spinning from her encounter with Gretchen. She could feel her usual, familiar melancholy setting in. But buried deep was a beautiful, brilliant burst of cockiness and self-entitlement. Her brain remembered what it felt like, and it had been forever shifted. A glass of water was changed, even with a single drop of dye. Even if no one but her could detect the change, she could still feel it.

She slipped into the female dorms, and meandered in the direction of the stairs. A new student was ascending them, and she could feel a sense of pain and confusion. Kalinda was there as well, and she attempted a facsimile of a smile. It was probably more of a wince. "Hey, Kalinda."

Ben shakes his head slightly, "I don't really think you need to worry about people not liking you. Most of our classmates are already your friend or at the very least, don't dislike you. I don't think a fifteen second speech about you will change their minds, even if it is Anthony giving it." With a mere fifteen minutes left in the drive, Ben falls silent and turns up the volume on his phone before pressing play on the audiobook version of Jules Verne's, .

Kijani nodded, hoping that Ben was right. She too, settled against the chair, and listened to the reciting pouring from the speakers. The book was vaguely familiar, and she knew she'd read it. It was a struggle to stop her mind from automatically pulling up the words, and softly reciting along. Ben clearly wanted to think, and prepare himself. She should do the same. With an exhale, she began focusing on her body parts, one by one. She started with her big toe, and worked her way steadily upward. It was a meditation exercise that was ancient, but still vital. By the time they would arrive, she would be completely relaxed and aware of herself.
I am there! ^_^
All of my RPs have died at the same time...
Where'd everyone go? *tiny pout*

Ben shrugs as his smile returns, "Eh, I'm in no rush. Hey, what did you think about what Anthony said about you in Mimic's class?"

Kijani dropped her head slightly, thinking about that. "...I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it gives me credibility. On the other hand, it's Anthony giving me the credibility. Considering what he said, I think most of our classmates will look at me much more carefully now. They already don't like him for various reasons, and most of them are led so easily by their petty emotions that they'll dislike me on the basis that he thinks I have potential. On the other hand again..." Her smile was odd, a mixture of pleased and wistful. "No one's ever done that for me before, in that way. Publicly stated that I was... worthwhile. It's new, but nice."
Basically she'd be an illusionist. Sight and sound, touch (an illusion of pain, perhaps?) but not very good at scent or taste.

If I made her an alien, she'd have to find some way to Earth..

*thinks* Or maybe she's not an alien, she's just... a distant cousin to some hero?
*soft laugh* I have an idea for another character, but I can't figure out parents for her. I could perhaps make her an alien, but she'd still be completely original. Thoughts?
