I'm going to be playing a female with an interesting family history... she'll probably be a thief, if anyone wants to be her friend or enemy, let me know!
....I'm sorry, I... I'm not getting it.
*subscribes* Now to just wait for the others.
Mm... What's a beep test? I've never heard of that before..
Orbit's knees wobbled as she looked around her, at the carnage. Bullets, destruction, fire, so much blood. Her body and mind were having trouble believing it was actually over. Still, the echo of the final gunshot still rang in her ears, a constant low whine at the edges of her hearing. "..." Her mouth opened, and she let out a soft, almost inaudible groan. There weren't words. They hadn't lost, but... there was no way that this was a victory.

Finally, her brain kicked into gear, moving her tired, adrenaline-worn body into motion. She moved to Gabe and crouched, laying a hand against his wound. "You flaming idiot..." It was something only the two of them would understand. She used to call him that, at the very beginning, when they were just getting used to each other. Jin nicknamed everyone, and neither her mentor or her partner had escaped at first. Eventually she settled into a respect for Batman, and a camraderie with Gabe, so the nicknames weren't so usual anymore. But now, he'd made a rookie mistake, thinking with his heart rather than his mind. In her mind, he was back to the start. "I'm so pissed off at you." She didn't know if he would answer, if he even could answer, or if he ever would-

A choked noise escaped her throat, as she placed more pressure than just her shaking hands could manage. Her power was all but gone, as she'd been doing some heavy work blocking all those bullets and a mutable shield besides. A splatter of blood against the black of her glove made her almost panic, until she realized it wasn't coming from Gabe's wound. It was coming from her nose, and it was enough that she had to turn her head and spit it out. She'd never bled like that before, and if everyone else hadn't been some form of bloody, she would have been worried.

"...someone wanna get us a stretcher? Some surgeons?" A smile graced her now-bloodied lips as she addressed the room in general. "Heck, I could make do with a needle and thread. Oh, or duct tape!" She gazed down at her friend, speaking to him as if he were conscious and ready to joke. "Remember that time we had to tape up my broken wrist, Hell? Man, that was a fight."
Jin nodded, pursed her lips, and whistled twice in rhythm, a slight high pitch. Luna's ears perked, and she got up and went to Jin's side. Blaze was scratching at one of his large ears with a back paw, and did not notice until Luna growled at him. Then he jumped up and raced to Jin's side, his ears and tail drooping in a clear show of submission. Jin reached down and gently rubbed his ears. "It's ok, little guy. I'll teach you the signals. Don't worry!" Then she reached down and scooped him up into her arms.

"We're going on a trip, you know? So don't be sad, be excited!" Jin said, as if trying to pep up all of them for the journey they would take. Blaze barked and licked her face vigorously, and Jin giggled. "That's more like it!" Then she turned, and looked toward the gate.

"...alright then." She stepped through, into the brilliant light of the day. Immediately she was assailed with so many different things. The brilliant white sunlight outside, the warmth on her skin. The scent of the grass and faint perfume of flowers. Distant noises, of wild Pokemon, people, and even local insects reached her ears. Under her feet, instead of concrete, was a dirt path. She moved her foot and ran her toe in it, leaving a little rivet of crumbly dirt. "...wow..." The wonder on her face matched the childlike awe in her voice, and she stepped forward slowly, as if unsure of what she was seeing.
Jin smiled slightly down at the little Pokemon. Again, she seemed very different than before. Less tough, more gentle and looking closer to the young girl she actually was. "Yeah... Luna's a tough girl, but Blaze... he's too soft. I couldn't make him go hungry, I couldn't make him hurt." She looked up again at Tobias, the tough woman clearly back. "So I'm leaving. If I fail, I fail, but I can't not try." There was something like steel in her dark eyes. "As far as following you goes..." A tiny smile curved up the corners of her mouth, but combined with the sharpness of her gaze, it made her look mildly scary. "I prefer to say we're just heading in the same direction at the same time."
Devika was too excited to notice the eerie grin of David's. She settled into the chair carefully, and sighed with pleasure. "Mmm... now this is nice." She crossed her legs at the ankle. "I could get used to a chair like this." While she almost wanted to bounce with excitement, she was also trying to calm herself. Would a high pulse rate or burst of adrenaline affect the machine? Then again, she was sure the great minds that had designed it had probably thought of all of that. She grinned wide, showing dimples. "I wonder who my ancestor is..." Maybe she would be an artisan? Or a dancer...
I'm too hyper to post right now! Hahaha!
Kijani was in a daze, though she was trying to tell herself she was meditating. It was all she could do, as her body was all but useless currently. Her limbs were lead from the paralyzing toxin in her reins. Even if they weren't, the shackles and chains pinning her to the cold wall of the truck they were traveling in would have hindered her almost as well. Once again, she thanked herself for putting so much thought into meditation. It was the only thing keeping her sane. She was scared, yes, more than she cared to admit. But she could tuck the fear away for later, when she wasn't in so much trouble.

The truck rolled on, and she waited, silent, for the destination ahead.

---Hours Later---

The first thing Kijani realized upon waking was that she'd fallen asleep. Somewhere between reciting poetry in her mind and trying to keep her mind away from fear, she'd genuinely rested. It wasn't much of a loss- her body couldn't get any stiffer, and the guards escorting her were too smart to talk freely.

The second thing she realized was that the truck wasn't moving anymore. They had stopped somewhere. The third thing she realized, when her eyes adjusted to the dimness of the area, was that she wasn't in the truck at all. The last thing she realized, right before a wave of terror rolled through her and disrupted any further thinking, was that she knew exactly where she was now.

Faint halogen lights overhead gleamed off of metal surgical instruments. The room was uncomfortably cold, the air from above on full blast. All around her, the smell of copper and bleach permeated the air.

Kijani let out a low sob and shut her eyes, tight, trying to will away the memories starting to flood her mind. “No.” Nauseating terror roiled through her body, and on her right side, an old scar full of bad memories started to burn with fresh pain.

She was back.
