*yawn* Morning. Dizzy here, I'm one of the GM team...

You've got my vote. As far as I know, your character's in unless he has a PhD in Chemistry already. How 'well-versed' are we talking here?

Your avatar doesn't get my vote, though. Freakin' creepy clowns.
sorry i went off the grid. >_< my health is just going to shit lately...
Jin watched Korlash run off, and she shook her head. Already they weren't believing him. She knew that much. He may have been one of them, but she had learned from the elders that people did not like things to be different. They did not like things to change. Change was scary for most beings. She didn't know why- changes had been all of her life. This would be one more.

Even if Korlash was just wanting to protect her until they parted ways, she could enjoy that, right? Perhaps in his silence, there was something he did not want to say. Something like that he was going to drop her at the nearest village and go to live with his people. It would make sense. He was an elf. He belonged with other elves. She was... not sure what she was. Even though her body was human, she knew her mind wasn't. So maybe she didn't belong beside Korlash. Maybe she didn't belong anywhere.

She got down from her cot and went to put her weapons on. There was a feeling that somehow, they would have to leave soon.
Kijani blinked several times, not used to being called out so blatantly. "I... er..." She looked down, at herself. "Geez, I'm a mess." She pushed a hand through her dreadlocks, then turned her back to him and started to do her buttons over again. "Look, I... I was weak enough yesterday, I just... I just want to move on as quickly as possible. Maybe if I lie enough, maybe if I say I'm okay... then it'll somehow become true." She turned once she was done, and her buttons were fixed. Kneeling to tie her shoe briefly, she passed her hand subtly over her eyes. Just that sentence alone had caused tears to brim. Shit, she was such a useless weakling. No wonder her grandmother had left her. It was all her fault... how come she couldn't just be more useful to people? "Connor?" Her voice was shaking. "...why do you want to help me?"
Kijani smiled at him, and lied to his face. "Yes. I'm much better." She smoothed his hair gently, in a fond touch. "Thank you for... coming to my rescue. It's embarrassing that you had to at all, but.. I truly appreciate your help, Connor." She stepped back, looking away. Her shirt was rumpled and the buttons weren't lined up properly. One of her shoes was untied, and her hair was a mess. "You can borrow my shower if you want, Connor. I'll step outside."
Kijani stirred, opening her eyes. She sat up and stretched. And then she blinked several times, realizing she could actually sit up and and stretch. The venom had worn off. She could move. Connor was sitting near her door, and her gaze softened. That fool. While he was resting, she took a shower and scrubbed hard, trying to get the smell of bleach off of her body. She didn't know if it was just her imagination, but she had to be sure. Once she was done, she dressed quickly. Then she leaned down to Connor.

"Hey..." She gently nudged his shoulder. "Wake up..."
Right. Posting now!
Hey Caits- Is Connor still in Kijani's room?
Devika turned to the boy, who luckily was no longer upset. "Oh. Uh... Flood's teaching me to fight. So far I've only had one lesson. I can do this..." She took the stance he'd taught her, and did the combo that she'd practiced all day yesterday. Or rather, she tried to. The sidewalk wasn't as even as it could have been- she hit a crack and stumbled, landing on her butt. "...ow." Her face burned with embarrassment as she tried to fight down a wave of self-loathing and get up.

Kyra smiled. "Hey..that's actually a great idea!" she laughed, running her fingers through the end of her braid.

"Yeah." Devika nodded, then adjusted her glasses in a fidgety motion. "Well, I'd better go get breakfast before class. It was nice talking to you!" She started to walk on, figuring it was better to stop the conversation before it hit that awkward point of silence. Passing through the halls, she saw Kalinda and Flood, and then her senses alerted her to some very angry person behind her. "Uh... good morning?" She grinned nervously at the three of them. "Hey, Flood, are we still on for training tomorrow?"
