"My morning was fine. I did my usual exercise and doubled my meditation time... and then you showed up." She gave him a concerned gaze, then looked at her shoes. "You shouldn't... waste time with me right now. Go to your mom, Nick. She's much more important. Especially since you never knew her. What I'd give-" She stopped that sentence short, and took a slow breath to immediately counteract the wave of sadness that welled up in her. "Go to her, is all I'm saying. I'll be around later."

Kijani blinked several times, before slowly taking the handkerchief from him. She dabbed her eyes slightly, before exhaling slow. "...I dunno what era you come from, but people don't stick around for other people's drama. They're afraid it'll wear off." Her fist curled around the cloth, as a burst of emotion rushed through her. "Everyone's got their shit, so why should mine be special?"

Nicholas said looking down down at her before kneeling beside her,"If you want I can record the show and...we could watch it together.."He spoke rather quietly of this.

"That would be really great!" Devika grinned widely. "That way I won't feel like the only person who didn't go." She reached out and gave him a pat on the shoulder. "That's really nice of you to think of me, Nick. Thanks."

Well, Gabe is with Jin, on the way back to the base as fast as she can fly. And Fenrir's following them, more or less.

Devika nodded a bit. "Well, I wasn't going to attend the show." She smiled, but her eyes were sad. "Too many people. I hope someone records it, though. I want to see what people do." She looked sideways at him. "You had a talent that you were going to show off?"

Devika didn't react, or even respond until Nick placed the flower in her lap. Her lips twitched into a bit of a smile. "Figured it was you." She exhaled one more time, expelling all of the old air from her body. Then she opened her eyes and looked at Nick. "Morning." She looked down at the flower and smiled, gently touching the petals.

"Thank you." She picked up the flower carefully and set it in her shirt, where it nestled between her breasts. "Have you eaten breakfast yet?"
