Devika let her walls down slow, one by one. She felt Kalinda's calmness and was encouraged by it, so she relaxed and let the rest drop. Finally she smiled at Kalinda, and in a normal voice introduced herself. "I'm Devika. Thanks for your help. It's been a while since I've been around that many people. I usually avoid it, for reasons I'm sure you can understand." She started doing the deep, calming breaths she'd been taught all her life.
Devika's smile grew a bit more. "Is it that obvious that I'm new?" She would have laughed but she couldn't have summoned the joy if she tried. "Yes, please, outside sounds wonderful." She was glad the girl had taken her tray, because her hands were shuddering. She pressed them together and looked around for a door.

That's true. Thank you for not arguing.

Why would I argue that? Not controlling someone else's character is like... rule one of RP...
Devika was struggling slightly with the effort of keeping her walls up against so many people at once. A slight, dark haired girl came up to her and simply said hi, and Devika found herself struggling to smile. "Hi." Her voice would sound flat and odd- the stronger her emotional walls became, the less emotion she could show.
I don't think Devika's control is that precise, for one. For two that'd be godmodding out the wazoo. besides, they may have the same power but they work differently.
Let me know if you're cool with Devika being immune to Anthony's powers... I mean, they share the same skill and all, and Devika's put all of her focus into keeping it in check. She's had some pretty bad things happen when she gets out of control. The most recent being a rather large bar fight.
Devika exhaled silently, letting out a low and calming breath. She'd never been in a school this big before. It made sense, considering the type of students it was for. It was quite busy, as well, a lot more than she'd thought it would be. That meant there were a lot of people like her. Whatever that meant. She had no idea what she really was. A mutant? A metahuman? An alien? She'd never questioned her own identity so hard as she had within the last year. Nothing else mattered- her grades had gone to hell, she could barely concentrate at work. Luckily her parents knew a lot of people. Even the good guys needed legal defense sometimes, and so they'd called in a lot of favors to get her enrolled.

Her schedule stated that she should be in lunch right now, and she was making a beeline for the cafeteria. She could feel the emotions concentrated within, which lined up with what should have been a crowd of teens and young adults. She started up another calming breath and started focusing, imagining her mind as a maze of walls that looked like something out of an MC Escher painting. Once she was sure she was suitably prepared, she stepped into the cafeteria.

She could feel the emotions hitting her from all sides, around her like she was a goldfish in an empty aquarium. It had been a while since she'd gone to such a large, public place. By the time she got a tray and started to load it with food, her hands were shaking lightly with the effort of keeping her walls in place.

@Dizzy Check when the character list was updated.

How would I know it was updated if no one says my character is acceptable?
Loki is awesome, I love a smart and subtle villain. The vast level of snarkiness doesn't hurt either.

Kniiight, look up and see if Devika's up to snuff.
Kijani joined Sue and the other girls with a smile, setting down her tray so she could speak and sign at the same time. "Afternoon everyone. What's with the scissors?" Sue looked so excited, and she wondered what the plan was.
