So so. I think my post got eaten by the internet.

I was intending for this to be the city, but... considering how large it is, maybe it's more of a hub for adventurers to get info? And the town requesting help is like... half a day away?

>_< My apologies for slowness. I really think something is wrong with me, because I'm having headaches daily. This is... very new for me, and it's kinda freaking me out.

Devika picked her head up slow, turning around. Her eyes widened, and she blinked several times. "N-Nick?!" Without thinking, she clutched him in a tight hug. Her relief and joy would possibly overwhelm him. "You're safe, you're safe..." She realized a few moments later what she'd mistakenly done, and hurriedly pulled away.

"I- I'm sorry, I wasn't strong enough to save you. In the end, I failed. I'm sorry... But how are you here?"

Kijani smiled to Flood. "I am going to see where this takes me- but I do want to return to school. My tuition is already paid, so there's no sense in wasting a good resources. Besides..." She blushed faintly, thinking of Connor. While she was certain he'd be upset with her, she hoped that he'd forgive her, once she told him why she'd gone. "Magneto is an extremist, and that's never really been my deal. So if things get too hot... I'm out the door. It's not like I've signed myself any contracts."

Devika hurt. Her head was throbbing, with all the panic and excitement in the room. She saw several major heroes show up, and wanted to talk to them, to tell them what she'd seen. As soon as she stood, though, pain and nausea tore through her body. She wobbled and sad right back down. Silently she watched, and tried not to cry in pain.

Kijani blinked several times, surprised. But she quickly covered, toying with her hair as she thought. "Well... perhaps a mix of all three. You join Magneto, but you request to be sent back to the Academy as a spy. That way, you can feed whatever info you desire to SHIELD and Magneto both... while keeping all the best parts for yourself. In the end of it... well, you are indeed forging your own path, with the maximum profit where it belongs: right in your hands." A wide smile was on her face, but the eyes were very suddenly like her grandmother's. Calculating and cool. "That's what I'd do, anyway."

Devika's in the gym. She's semi-conscious... but I'll wake her for anyone who wants to interact. I just didn't have anything for her to do.

Kijani closed her eyes after hearing Flood speak. It was familiar to her, what he was saying. All she'd wanted from her life was for someone to know she was great. She never got it from her parents, so she sought it from her grandmother... While she hadn't given up hope that she could rub the truth of her glory in Amanda Waller's face, she still wanted the whole world to know that she, above all, was amazing. She could understand the feeling of needing someone else to guide them. Her own desire was not quite the same, but still, she understood. It took her several moments to speak past the sudden tightness in her throat.

"I get you, Flood. More than you think. I... I need other people to... to notice me." Laying her paper armored hand briefly on his shoulder, she looked him in the eyes for a quick moment. "Sometimes I feel like... if I'm not the best, then I don't exist at all." There was something bleak in her eyes, for a moment, something not there. Then she looked away. "So maybe we have to take what we want from this world, because it sure isn't giving any handouts."
