Fury rose up in Connor. Yet he managed to keep his voice calm, collected. He watched as she curled towards the wall, away from him. "Why? So I can leave you to your thoughts, leave you to contemplate the words you parents, your grandmother have said to you, basically saying you are worthless."He ran his hands through his hair in frustration, "Don't lie. I know that's what goes through your head at least daily. It makes you push people away. Push me away" Slight weariness entered his voice, but was quickly washed away. "You can't help but doubt" If he'd been quick enough when she'd been taken by her grandmother...would she believe what she had said? Was he being too patient? Would trying harder just push her further away? What was he meant to do?"It doesn't matter if people have ever doubted I'd be great. I doubted myself. By letting their words get to you, making them mar how you see people, mar you yourself, you're just letting them win. People only seek to destroy someone when they are scared of them. You can't let them, Kijani" he sighed, "I'm not going to go. I'll stay outside the door, only to prevent rumors. But I won't leave"

Kijani flinched at the pain in his voice, at the hidden anger. She was hurting him- she was [i]hurting[i/] the one person who cared. Her body shook as she listened to him. He was right. He had always been utterly smart, and he saw through her like she was made of glass. Kijani wasn't sure that she wasn't, lately. She felt brittle and hollow, like she could crumble at a touch... Trying to force away the pain, she whispered. "Connor, I... I'm sorry for... for who I am." She waited until he left, before taking a small bottle from her desk drawer. She dry swallowed the sleeping pill before curling back up in bed and trying to fight the tears, waiting for sleep to pull her down.

I'll try my best, KL. Trying to keep the spirit alive for this one.

1) How strong is her telekinesis, like how much could she lift with that power alone?2) How fast can she move with her flying?3) What do these spheres do? Do they act like a form of bashing weapon and how many does she have?

1. She can lift about 300 pounds with pure TK. Less if she's flying, because she's diverting power to keep herself in the air. I put that in the profile, but I think I missed some details.

2. In a small tunnel... I guess 200mph? Her speed varies with momentum and open space (I'm kinda tossing these figures out. I don't know a lot about measurements, so if this is too much let me know.)

3. The orbs are usually blunt force or large projectiles. She does have hidden blades in them, ones that she controls by signal as well. She has 6 orbs.

*weak wave* Oh hi... Seems we have a site again.
My apologies, the site decided to double post as soon as I put my profile up.

What do you all think?
Name: Jinayah Ifriti Alias: Orbit Age: 16 Gender: Neither? Skills: Lockpicking, pickpocketing, vault cracking, stealth movement, reading blueprints, motorcycle riding, advanced knowledge of high level math and physics, mechanical, engineering and computer talent (She makes a great deal of her own equipment), incredibly skilled aim (aided by the use of rapid mental math) Powers: Telekinesis -Jin can lift about 300 pounds while she's on the ground. She has difficulty with more delicate movements. -While hovering/flying, her weight limit drops by about half. -She can use her kinesis to 'fly'. It isn't full flight. She basically pushes herself from object to object, using the momentum to give herself speed and height. If she was in a flat field, she could only achieve a height of maybe five feet off the ground, but could still move incredibly fast. -Jin's favorite use of her power is to enhance her fighting strength. She uses it to give her punches and kicks more force, and can easily keep up this fighting style while flying. Equipment: Super Suit - black with purple trim Lockpicks Scanner goggles Her "orbs"- metal spheres that can be controlled via signal through the technology in her gloves. Street motorcycle Personality: Jin is smart mouthed, usually. She enjoys cracking jokes and being humorous. She is not very adept at close relationships, however, and tends to keep people at arm's length. If people try to get too close, she will lash out, and try to force them away. History: Jin lost her parents at a young age. She lived on the streets for a significant part of her childhood, learning to steal for money in order to eat. When she was about ten, she was adopted by a man who turned out to be a professional thief. He taught her everything she needed to know, and when she was old enough, he sent her to HIVE. While he could easily teach her to be a master thief, he knows there are certain things that only a school like that could teach his kid. Jin really didn't want to go, and they haven't spoken since he enrolled her. (Hive Five!) Appearance: 5'0'', dark skin, dark eyes, short black hair, petite and androgynous build, wears loose shirts and jeans Other: -I refer to Jin as 'she' because she is biologically female. If asked directly about her gender, she would probably say something sarcastic, like 'can't you tell?' and walk away. In truth, she doesn't feel quite right saying that she is female or male.
Kijani did mutter protests as Connor lifted her from the ground, but she wasn't truly in the mood to argue. She wasn't sure when he'd gotten strong enough to lift her like that, either. He'd changed, so much. It was partly her doing, she thought, but she knew she couldn't take credit for all of Connor's maturing. Still, her grandmother's words echoed in her mind. Connor would get what he wanted from her- maturity, confidence, even more- and then he would leave. Maybe he wouldn't mean it, but... Kijani truly couldn't stop her mind from denying the possibiliy.

She didn't speak until Connor set her down in bed. His voice was so soft, somehow hurt. "Connor, you can't stay here... They'll think we're sleeping together, we'll both get in trouble." She shut her eyes and curled toward the wall. "Besides, someone like you would become a great man, no matter the circumstances. It's always been in you. I'm sure no one ever doubted that you would be great." She let out a slow breath, one that shook. "Please go, Connor. I just want to sleep."

Devika managed to get the harness on properly, and she watched the wall for some sort of pattern before starting to climb. Slowly, she made her way up, nearly losing her grip twice before making it halfway.
*cuddles Caits* Happy new year guys!
