> Maybe the siteof the Teams next mission, taking down ring of Bratva booksellers. It would be a real page turner! Ow. That actually made me wince so hard it hurt.
If Jack/Mini-Flash is around, perhaps he can overhear Jin muttering about food. Or, probably even louder, her stomach.
Jin muttered under her breath. "I need my powers back." She smiled a bit, though. "I just need a minute... and some carbs." She patted her pockets, looking for something to snack on. Even without her powers, she seemed to run through a meal so quickly that she needed to keep food on her all the time. Unfortunately, when she came up empty, she realized that she'd left her peanut butter crackers in her suitcase. "Crap. This isn't good." She could feel herself starting to recover, but her stomach let out a warning groan like a rusty hinge.
> Wait a minute, a thing for Estella to do? What is this madness? Yes, a thing for Estella to do! Devika knows there's a fight going on in his head, but she can't hear it or fix it.
Devika, who had gotten well out of the way once she realized that she'd failed, was startled when Griffin dropped suddenly. She was terrified that he was dead, and quickly pulled her gloves back on. He could be angry at her later. She got her arms under his shoulders and slowly pulled him out of harm's way. "Come on, big fella." She could feel that something was extremely wrong. Griffin's emotions were in a flux, like his alters were fighting it out. "Uh... I think he needs a nurse. Or a telepath."
Jin is odd. She doesn't use her powers in everyday life, but suddenly having them not there at all... well, it's like having one eye covered and walking, or trying to write with your non-dominant hand. Your perception is all weird... Your brain throws all kinds of signals out and some of them are wrong.
*peeks head in* I really, really wish there was an option to change how the site looks. Reading long texts on black background exhausts my eyes. I will get through it, though, but it's gonna take a good while.
*nod* Devika wouldn't have done what she did if there had been a plan in place... or at least someone talking about it. Everyone was kinda frozen. Devika's seen Mimic in action, and figured that he'd bring the fight to them long before they were going to get a plan together. Plus, in her own mind, she is expendable. So if Mimic takes her out, but she creates an opening, well... then she's done something.
> > Jin got to class just in time to hear the tail end of Mimic's speech. She felt her power simply drain away, like water spilling on the ground. A high tinny ringing started in her ears, and she started to sweat even more. "...oh, that didn't feel good. Lemme just..." She tried to sit gracefully, but nearly fell over. "Oh, this is not nice." Numerous and creative curses were muttered as she tried to sit up straight. She felt like she'd been hit by a truck. Or the flu. Or a truck full of flu infected rats... > > Jihord > > He watched her carefully, concerned, before kneeling next to her chair > "Don't be scared." > he murmered, lightly touching his fingers to her temple, his frosty skin cooling her flaming head > "You're burning." > he said softly, concern heavy in his voice > "Does this happen, ever?" > Jin went very still when Jihord approached her, fighting the urge not to flinch away. She wasn't too great at being touched by strangers, especially when she didn't feel great. And yet, both Jihord and Leon had helped her immediately... "Well, I've never been without my power. Ever. Even when I'm drained, it's still there. I just feel..." She frowned, and searched for the words to describe it. "Like something important is gone."
Devika halted her attack as she saw one of the new students dart forward. With the opening provided by the others, the girl made a well placed attack. It sure looked painful, but Mimic would be fine. "Nice hit!" She said as she rushed by. With his wrists bound neatly by Pheobe, Devika closed the gap and wrapped a hand around Mimic's neck, making sure to get as much bare skin as she could against her fingers. She loosed the fear she'd been building in one sharp jolt. It tore out of her so quick that she felt immediately lightheaded, and lost her footing, landing heavily on her backside with a grunt of surprise.
