*lying in a heap* Fucking fast food is going to kill me. I have food poisoning. I'm upset. But I'm still in it- if my first post isn't... like... awesome, will you all forgive me? Because the longer I sit on it, the more upset it's making me. I think I need to post and move on.
*calmly hugs Dioxide* Poor dear... Lemme know if you wanna vent. I am a heart with ears.

Also, I'm pretty sure I have food poisoning- so I'll be here all day. More or less, anyway. *lying in bed*

John laughs, "I don't know about being a hero, I jut hate to see people picking fights with someone that wouldn't stand a chance against them. So, do you want to do something, since we're not going to the dance?"

Anthony replies, "Hello Kijani. You're friends with Sue, correct? Will she be attending the dance?"

Devika smiled. So he had a sense of honor. Interesting. "Yeah, I wouldn't mind doing something. But what?"
Kijani raised her eyebrows, utterly surprised at the question. "Well, Anthony... I don't think the girl with sound amplifying powers is going to be in a walled auditorium with very, very loud music and people." She chuckled. "Though I'm also wondering why you couldn't have asked yourself." A smile lit her face, though she knew he couldn't see it. "Someone's mind has been addled by a pretty redhead, hm?" She wasn't too far off, though, with how eager she was to meet with Connor... "Perhaps you'll have to have a special dance. Just the two of you. Bye Anthony." She hung up the phone and headed off to the dance.

Johns smiles slightly, this was the first time someone at the school had actually bothered to have a conversation with him. "I love this school. They first recruited me when I was living on the streets, not long after my dad died trying to save someone's life. The Academy probably saved my life too, I was in a low place, and I don't know what I would have done." He pauses, then answers Devika's question about his powers, "Have you ever heard of Venom? Well basically, an upgraded version of that is part of my immune system. At will, I can make this weird, white, film cover my skin. I can also change the density of the film and form tentacles or change the shape of my limbs. I'm also really strong, and if I touch someone, I can read their minds and make them grow weaker the longer I touch them. Then of course, I have wall crawling, web shooting, and a 'spider-sense'."

Devika smiled a bit at John's story. It was good that he'd found a home, and support. Maybe she had to give the place a chance. "Your powers are so complex. That's got to be a lot to deal with, I mean... I've just got the one trick, and it's more than enough for me. You could be a real hero, if you wanted." She chuckled.
Kijani was primping in front of the mirror, not entirely satisfied, and she heard her phone buzz. She picked it up. "Hello?" Her voice was confused but happy. She hadn't recognized the number.

John chuckles, looks both ways as if he was making sure no one was eavesdropping, then whispers, "Between you and me, I'm not the most popular guy around." He continues speaking in his normal tone of voice, "If someone needs to be healed, they come running to me. If some thirteen year old is being bullied by the Thing's son, they ask for my help. Other than that, it's just me and the gym."

"Ah..." Devika shook her head slightly. "So they like what you can do, but not you. Hardly seems fair." She scoffed lightly. "So far, this school hasn't done much to impress me. First the teacher calls me a disappointment my first hour. I changed his opinion. And then this... other student says she 'can't help' meddling in others' business. As if it's like a nosy Tourettes syndrome. It was an absolute cop-out answer. I was so upset that I had to walk away." She frowned, then let out a heavy sigh. "...I really hope it gets better. But enough about me-" She looked over at John over the top of her glasses. "Besides the healing you mentioned, what else can you do?"

"Just because I am smart doesn't mean I know everything. I skipped dressing, eating and dancing lessons at school apparently" Connor said, surprised at the easy reply. It wasn't something he normally did, other than with his father or Austin. He had no delusions he was a good dresser, so he didn't take offense. He pulled out his phone to quickly cheek if the text was important., "well that problem might be solved" he said, "Anthony is happy to help with clothes apparently"

Kijani laughed softly, shaking her head a bit. "Well, make sure he doesn't have you sign anything beforehand. Anthony's got a reason for everything he does, even if it's as subtle as getting on everyone's good side." She fiddled with her bracelet. "If it's only for a night, I'm sure it won't backfire too hard."

John sits on the edge of the bench and sits quietly. When the silence becomes too awkward, he clears his throat and says, "I wasn't planning on going to the dance anyway, so if you'd like some company, I'm free."

Devika raised her eyebrows, adjusting her glasses with the tip of her finger. "Why aren't you going? You look like the man about town type..." But looks could be deceiving, of course. She was just judging what she saw, which wasn't fair. "I mean, that's just my opinion. I don't know you from the next 7-foot guy, so... I could be wrong."
"Well, if fireproofing my weaponry is nothing, I'd love to see what you do when you're trying." And then she was quite taken aback at what he said. He wanted her help? Her hands went on her hips, and she leaned forward, smirking. "What's this, what's this? Connor wants lessons? First the food, then the dancing? You're your father's kid, or so I've heard." She looked him up and down, lips pursed in concentration. "Well, first of all, we're going to have to improve your ensemble." She smiled, trying to be gentle. "You look like a waiter."
Yeah, he might need to step up his fashion game if he wants to get Kijani's attention.
Kijani's jaw dropped as the fire couldn't catch the paper. She was already happy, and now she was so delighted that she clutched Connor in a tight, triumphant hug. "Oh my god, you are a freaking genius! It works! I'm going to be unstoppable! Ahaha! You're wonderful..." She realized what she was doing and hastily backed up, clearing her throat. "...I mean... thank you. You've done exemplary work, Connor." Then she frowned slightly. "What do you mean, you don't dance? Dancing's easy!"
Devika sighed softly. She didn't feel like explaining to someone who probably wouldn't get it, but the words started to come anyway. "I can make people feel things, but only if I feel them first. And now I feel all this fear and excitement from everyone, and... it's just getting on my nerves, I'm not even allowed to enjoy something with as many people as a dance. I'm good at keeping things out, but all the students in one place would be beyond my ability to keep out. I'd be a total wreck... or a robot. Either way I sure wouldn't be dancing." She huffed, running a hand through her thick curls in a pose of sheer fustration.
I'm actually anxious about my post... I've got so many ideas and I keep... wanting to make them perfect. I've got a full page but it's all crap.

And yes, this is just starting out, off to a slow start but still alive.
