Kijani snorted. "A good fighter 'for a girl'? You go right to hell, Griffin et al." She wiped at her slightly bleeding lip and glared at him. "Good thing you chickened out while you did- I was about to beat your ass into the ground." She walked out and breezed by him, bumping him agressively with her hip as she passed by. The anger of the gender insult gave her mind something to grip besides her thoughts. She sat down and leaned back with her feet on the desk, utterly pissed.
I have to sleep soon. ><;;
Kijani heard his movements easily in the small room. She darted for him, aiming a kick toward his knee, and an even faster follow up blow, her palm to his chin. All the while her eyes were screwed shut.
Kijani hadn't known the flash was coming, and shut her eyes against the brightness. Griffin's kick caught her right in the chin- luckily she knew how to take a blow to the head. It still hurt, though, and she licked the blood from her bottom lip and grinned. "Not bad, Griffin and friends." Then she did something odd. She closed her eyes deliberately. If he could blind her that fast, then her sight was going to be a liability. Instead, she focused on the sound of Griffin's movements and breathing.
Griffin's plan worked. Almost. Kijani dodged Griffin's fist, but was struck by his kick. Instead of just falling, though, she let her whole body flow back in the direction that the trip came from. She turned a fall into a flip and came up on her hands, executing a high kick at Griffin's chin.
"Hm." Kijani pursed her lips, interested. She dodged his low kick with an easy jump, landing on her feet and keeping up the movement, swaying as if to some unknown beat. "Oh, don't tease me, Griffin. Hit me. If you can."
"No, of course I won't use your mermaid." She smiled, and stroked his hair softly. She wrapped her other arm around him, in an attempt to cuddle and comfort him. Her body was soft, and fat- for lack of a better term. But hopefully she would be cozy for the child. "It's okay... Just be calm, Charlie. We're going to make a fire for you, okay?" But how, was the question? She was going to need some help. She also wanted the boy to rest, to be calm, but... she didn't dare use her power on him. She barely used it on adults, she didn't know what it could do to a child. Especially one as young-seeming as Charlie. Even she had noticed the child didn't act as old as he looked. No matter. He still needed to be taken care of. "Charlie, I'm going to go down to the water and call for my friends. Is that okay?"
"More than... one?" She raised her eyebrows. "You mean you have a twin?" As he approached her, she kept her distance, backing and circling to make sure she wasn't cornered. The room was small. It'd hinder her space for dodging, but not by much. If she could keep him talking, she could continue to assess him.
Kijani inclined her head politely. "Kijani." She frowned slightly. "Wait, I thought your name was... Zeke or Zack or something." How had she managed to get that so wrong? She twisted and cracked her back with a series of small, audible popping noises.
Alright, Kijani's called him out.
