Connor chuckled, finishing off his burger, "Okay then, but the pizza hut kind is good, despite the greasiness" He absently used his napkin to wipe his fingers, "So the real pizza had better be awesome"

Kijani nodded, absent mindedly eating a fried jalapeno from her burger. "It is. Richer flavor and not so overdone. And no horrible gimmicks. Like... cheese stuffed crust. Ugh."

Kijani shook her head, but was smiling. "Almost all American food is copped from another culture. We're having Italian next, so I can expose you to real pizza. Not the over greasy Pizza Hut junk."

Connor didn't mind spicy food, but preferred other things, "Anyone watching you would think you've discovered the best thing on earth to eat or something" He said smiling, starting to eat his burger

Kijani laughed softly, taking a sip of water. "Look, no one makes burgers like America. I've tried food from all over the world, but once in a while it's nice to get back to basics." She grinned and continued to eat.

I love spicy food. But it can't be just hot. It needs flavor.

Once they had ordered, and recieved their food, all the while Connor tried to think of something to say, or do, that would cheer Kijani. He was really bad at this sort of thing, he decided. But he smiled, and said, "Wont that be really spicy and hot?"

Kijani grinned. "That would be the entire point." She took a huge bite and let the flavorful heat keep her senses alive and kicking. "Aaah... burns so good." There was something about good spicy food that made her feel energetic.

"Well, the burger I had before was good, BBQ cheeseburger" Connor said, picking up his menu. He would probably just go with that again.

Kijani made a little face. She didn't like barbecue sauce. Scanning the menu, she picked out a burger that would hopefully keep at least some part of her going. It was called the diablo burger, and had pepperjack cheese, fried jalapenos, and spicy mayo on it along with all the other usual burger toppings.

"I suppose I am optimistic. A necessary trait, for an inventor after all" Connor said, as he started to lead the way to the store, "it wasn't that big of a mistake-he didn't expel you or anything" And there was optimism again. He smiled,opening the door to the burger place, "anyway, these burgers are good"

Kijani nodded, not knowing what to say at all. Once they were in the restaurant and seated, she hid behind a menu. She wasn't all that hungry, but she'd eat to keep up appearances. Besides, she'd have to keep her body energized just in case. "So... what's good here?" She peeked at Connor over the top of the menu.

"I suppose it could be Faith" Connor mused, "but Faith implies that one merely hopes, and not think of facts. I know it will be okay, because you are strong, even if you don't think so. You argued with Batman! I imagine very few students have done that before, if any. You've strived to work without your powers while you haven't had them, and succeeded. There's more, but then I would just be going on and on. You maybe worried, or scared or whatever, but I think you have always managed to rise, despite those things. So, whatever is going on, you will be fine" He found a park a little walk from the burger place, "or I could just be saying this and you are thinking that I am delusional."

Kijani just listened to Connor talk, riveted to his words. How could he have such... high regard for her? "Yelling at Batman was a mistake of a caliber I hope to never see again. As far as the rest of it..." She sighed faintly and started winding a dreadlock around her fingertip. "Keep thinking that way. You be optimistic, I'll be realistic, and we'll get by." She smiled a little bit and looped her arm into his.

Kijani's head jerked toward him, and a look of worry passed over her face. Either she was doing nothing to hide her emotions, or Connor was paying extra attention. Either way, it didn't bode well. "I wish I had your faith." Blind faith is what it was- Kijani preferred to have proof of things. Good, solid evidence. Her lips twitched into a weak smile. "Must be a hero thing."
