In response to her question, Anthony gives a little smile and says, "I certainly don't speak for every tiger owner when I say this, but I love the natural grace and regality that tigers possess. I also enjoy the fact that underneath their normally calm demeanor is a ferocity and power that most other animals can't match. Kijani offered him a faint smile in return. She hadn't expected that answer, and it seemed to have an unusual level of honestly to it, when she considered who it came from. It was a facet of Anthony she hadn't considered existed. "...Well, I guess if you're going to own a pet, you may as well do it right." She leaned back in the comfortable seat and shut her eyes. While she didn't trust Anthony nearly enough to sleep around him, she wouldn't mind a moment's quiet. "Wake me when we're there, hm?"

That made more sense to Maxine and she nodded. After a couple seconds an idea came to her mind and she got excited. "Oh, I can ask one of them for you next time!"

Devika looked surprised, then pleased. "You can speak with animals? That's... that's awesome! I'd love to know if I can stop making my friends' pets freak out."

Devika noted her confusion and smiled apologetically. "I'm an empath. I exude emotions and other people can feel them. I think animals can feel it well, too, but perhaps a lot stronger. They dislike it, I think. They stay away from me."

Anthony shrugs, "What can I say, it's been I while since I've last..." He coughs quietly and says, "My apologies, that was inappropriate. Also, if you throw a tantrum in my house when you find out more about your grandmother, you better not damage any of my possessions. If you do, I'll feed you to my tigers."

Kijani let out a faint snort. "I figured you and Sue were..." She paused to think of a word. "Intimate. But that's none of my business." A slight frown crossed her face. "You have... tigers? At your house?" She laughed softly. "That's a very... stereotypical thing, Anthony. I mean, it could be worse? You could have a glass floor with a basement aquarium full of sharks." She gave him an amused look. "So what is it? Proving your dominance over the lesser creatures?"

Maxine wasn't sure what a zoo was but the pet shop sounded interesting. She was going to have to ask more about that later. "Why couldn't you have a cat?"

"Oh..." Devika smiled in an embarrassed way. "My power. Animals react badly around me."

Devika nodded, understanding now. "Oh, that's pretty cool! Though I imagine it would make owning a pet impossible..." She thought about that. "Come to think of it, I can't go to zoos or pet shops myself. I've always wanted a cat, but can't have one." She wondered what it was like to not look human.

Kijani snickered faintly at the 15% line. "Really? I was expecting a flat zero from you. You must be in a generous mood." She then considered his question, folding her hands under her chin and looking briefly lost in thought. "...I'd rather hear it later, because depending on what the information is, you may not want to be in an enclosed space with me."

Kijani looked nonplussed. "I have too much class to hang around anyone while I reek of sweat." To his question, she lifted her eyebrows. She could tell Anthony was trying to unseat her, but it wasn't working. "That depends... Is Sue going to be okay with you being alone with me?" A smile played at her lips. "Or perhaps this whole thing is an elaborate ruse to get me alone and all to yourself." She gave him a simpering look and lay her hand on his upper arm. It was a serious flirt... for about three seconds before she started laughing. "Oh, god, I still can't pull that shit off..." She shook her head, removing her hand and cracking up. "I'm sorry, that was bad. Seduction is not my strong point."

Devika looked puzzled. "You had Austin's ears? What do you mean?" She remembered vaguely that Austin was the kid who looked like a tiger.
