The man gave Josh a steady look, before nodding in agreement. "Fair enough." He shut the door and waited to put on the ignition.

Jinny nodded, and went to the back of the truck. She lifted one foot and settled it on the tire. Then she swung herself over the side of the truck, and she sat down in the back. Then she gave Josh an energetic thumbs up. "I'm ready to go!"

Jinny looked up at the woman who was looking at her, keeping her dark eyed gaze steady. "Hi." She adjusted her backpack slightly, wishing she didn't have to crane her head so far to look up at these people. One day she'd be taller. "This is a weird place for a hideout." She looked around briefly, at all the fine things. "I mean, it's pretty on the inside, but... what if it rains a lot? Then water would come in, right?" She'd hidden in a lot of places her life, but never the sewer. Not out of any sort of pride, only for the fact that she feared and hated rats.

"So... what do I call you?"

*nods* That's the type of information I need. Thank you. If my drawing hand is up to it I'll draw something tomorrow. Maybe I just need to switch focus for a while to get back in my groove.

I apologize for my absence. I won't let it go that long with no post. I didn't mean for it to this time, either. I'm just juggling a lot.

Kassy raised her eyebrows, and simply held the child. "Oh, poor little guppy." Her heart went out for the boy. Their stories were so similar... she hated talking about it, but she had to let Charlie know he wasn't alone.

"I understand, little one. My mother... went to sleep when I was young. My father took me to my aunt's house. He said he would be back soon." A soft sigh escaped her. She didn't know if the boy would even understand. "I'm still waiting for him to show up." She smiled, but her eyes were sad. Her hand went up to quietly stroke Charlie's hair. "Do you know anyone else?"

Jinny let out a slow breath as she stood outside the hideout door. This was it. She was going to make her family proud. Even though she knew she had plenty to learn, she was excited to show off what she could do already. Hopefully her big brother had settled the details with the leader of this band of thieves- she was sure some of the grown ups would be less than thrilled to see a 'little girl'. But she would earn her place.

She opened the door silently, and headed in on silent pink sneakers. She was small and lightweight besides- add to that the fact that most people were looking several feet above her, and she was rather unnoticed as she entered. There was a gold mask clutched in her left hand, and a pink schoolbag on her back. She looked like a grade school student.

It was an excellent cover.
