*Slow nod* Revan, I'm wondering why you want to be part of an RP based on a comic book universe. You don't seem to like them very much at all.
Kijani raised her eyebrows at Austin, then lowered her voice with an air of sheepishness. "Sorry, Austin. Man, you look like hell... you're gonna want a lot of liquid today." She smiled a bit at him. "Want me to snag you some orange juice?"
The girl looked around at everything, most drawn to the laptops set up about the room. She looked curiously at the screens, but could decipher nothing, and moved on. After peering at one of the pictures on the wall, a portrait of a Pokemon she didn't recognize, she went in the direction of the Professor's desk. She leaned against a small partition that separated the two areas from each other, and watched, curious. Idly she rubbed Luna's ears. She wasn't entirely sure why she was sticking around. Probably because they had helped her, and hadn't shown signs of kicking her out yet. She wanted to ask what was going on, but she had an odd feeling that she would be interrupting something if she spoke.
Devika grinned a bit. Even though she was pretty sure John greeted all the girls like that, it was nice to hear. "Good morning, handsome." She gave him a friendly little punch in the shoulder. "I'm Devika. What is your name?" She offered a handshake to the new girl, her hands covered by a pair of winter gloves.
I will admit, the death thing does get really old. It really removes the pathos, the paths that such an event could open. It just removes the sense of consequences from a confrontation. I mean, if the good guy dies, there's less feeling, because they can just revive him with magic/science/religion/superpowers/drugs/clone body/you get the point. It just... really makes things seem meaningless, at the end of it all.
Kijani hit the cafeteria, all smiles. The high priced booze had made her sleep like a baby when she got to her dorm, and she actually felt better after a night out. After grabbing a plate of everything (she was ravenous), she greeted last night's cohorts. "Good morning, everyone!" Her voice was bright, downright cheery, even. She dropped a kiss on Connor's cheek and sat down. "Last night was a blast. We should do it again."
Devika finished her treadmill routine, then hit the showers for a brief rinse. She headed off to the cafeteria, passing John talking to someone she didn't recognize. She stopped, hearing the girl speak a language she didn't recognize. Her emotions were clear, though- nervousness through and through. "Morning, John." She smiled at the new girl, inclining her head politely. "Good morning." Her words were enunciated very carefully- the university she'd attended had been an international one. English wasn't the default language for a portion of the campus, so she'd learn to speak precisely.
Jinny looked a bit sad. "Allergic to peanuts? That sucks. But I'm glad you're letting me help! Big brother doesn't let me help..." She got up and stretched, then followed Niesha. She lifted one hand, showing her the palm. There were little scars on it. "I tried to learn to cut stuff so I could help, but he said blood doesn't belong on the vegetables. And then I burned the spaghetti pot, and there was smoke..." She grinned with embarrassment. "He says he'll try to teach me again when I'm older."
The girl looked at him, head tilted in confusion. "What's granola?" She muttered her question as the elevator door slid open. Stepping out, she realized she'd never been in such a nice looking place before. The walls were painted a rich blue, there were all sorts of pictures on them. There was a plush red rug on the shiny tile. There were bookcases and stray books all over, along with a few folk in white coats like the one her rescuer had been wearing. "Wow..." She murmured under her breath. "...interesting place."
Devika awoke on a cot in the clinic. She blinked several times and sat up, rubbing at the kinks in her shoulders. "Damn... my head is killing me." She looked around, wondering how she'd wound up here. Five minutes later, she walked out with no more information than she'd started with. The nurse had no idea how she'd got there- she'd just appeared when her back was turned, with a note saying she'd passed out. She started out at a light jog, to go to her dorm and pick up her things before going to the gym.

"Good morning, Kalinda." Devika smiled at the other girl as she started up the treadmill and got to walking.

Keeping all the magic and stuff a secret? Or just making sure no innocents are harmed

Well, aside from providing some backup for battles, she'd be the one keeping the normal humans out of harm's way. Usually with magical girl stuff, the magic powers have a built-in secrecy thing. Like how no one knows Sailor Moon is Usagi, despite them looking the exact same.
