Good deal. Seems like everyone who posted "interested" on the Interest Check didn't read the part about the RP being up for people to post characters. I have one ready, but need to get another updated. I think the latter is nearly done. I think all I needed was a good image.

Yes, this is a fandom, albeit with original characters set at Model High School in Rome, GA. A small coven of three witches starting their senior year set their sites on the new girl (my character) with designs of inviting her into the coven.

Each one has their own reason for practicing magic. You do not need to duplicate the original film. Besides, the idea is for this RP to be open ended, not turn into a self destructive fight. One of the keys to the coven gathering real power will be trust. My character is going to be very slow to trust except on a very shallow level. She has multiple secrets. Each of your characters could do the same.

This is intended as a small group. Any additional members will need the unanimous approval of the coven members. So submit any characters to all 4. Please understand that they may wish to keep the group small to avoid disruption.

Eyes: Blue (very intense)
Clothes: Looked like something she got at Goodwill when she first arrived in her junior year. These earned her the nickname Junkyard Jane. Junkyard Jane was also a new Marvel Superheroine after she got permission to use Marvel characters in her recycling ad posters she started putting up at school - from Stan Lee himself. She used her own face for Jane and looked like a salvage yard version of Wonder Woman.

She has a tendency to go with jeans, or blue jean looking blues like the shirt above. Also will get a brown leather jacket for cooler weather, maybe a jean jacket.

Scars: Covered with them. Most small ones have faded in the past year or she uses makeup. Looks like she might have tried to kill herself by slitting her wrists - straight across and jagged. Not true. Gang tried to kill her and she ended up in a bad accident. (hit by a truck and a police car.)

Background
Diane came from a large military family - or rather was adopted into one as a stepchild. By default, large meant poor. After all, the government didn’t issued families. On their fixed income, while dealing with medical issues and the costs of constantly moving from base to base life was tough. One had to learn to adapt to survive. It didn’t help that her mother little better than trailer trash. It didn’t help that her stepbrother and stepsister into everything their father forbade - gangs, drugs. He assumed she was too.

Last summer her stepbrother and stepsister were both killed by a rival gang. At least that was the rumor. The same gang broke into her home and killed her mother and two younger half brothers. Her father was on tour overseas at the time and never made it home.

She moved to Rome, GA where she lived next door to a salvage yard with foster parents. At least that was the rumor. The truth was that she was Emancipated and RENTED them. She also worked for them as their IT department and had begun to turn into their Marketing Manager. She found them through their attempt to become foster parents or even adopt which was being very slow to approve.

Skills / Training:
Diane abounds with creative talent. She is also a very talented hacker, though she doesn’t like to abuse her skills. She customized her own laptop and can build her own motherboard from scraps. She has a photographic memory and speed reads. Her vision is 20/10 and 20/13 (left and right eyes). She has perfect pitch. She got her GED at 14, but never told her parents. She didn’t feel ready to face the adult world - and her stepfather would have used it as an excuse to make her life more of a living hell.

The Craft

Yes, this is a fandom, albeit with original characters. There will be four main characters, high school students starting their senior year at Model High School in Rome, GA. The rest will be NPC’s created and run by members of the group. The members are:

Diane Miller: (My character)
The new girl in school, who arrives dressed like she got her clothes at Goodwill, dropped off at school by the company pickup of the local salvage yard. This instantly earns her the nickname Junkyard Jane, and a video of her arrival finds itself on Facebook by that evening. The next morning she discovers her guitar case left locked in the music department locker, filled with smelly garbage.

There is also a Middle and Elementary School located right next to the High School. (They are on the map if you follow the Google Maps link. I like to use real locations.) Model High School has an above average bullying environment. But the region is not inner city. Rome, GA is a fairly rural area.

This is the story of a spell to bring one’s true love closer - gone a little awry. The details of the spell are in the link above. My young lady is a modern 21st century very amateur witch. Or rather she tried to act the part of one. She didn’t really believe the spell would do anything. No, she simply looked it up online and cast away, following the instructions as best she could.

Thing of it is, as smart as she is, she didn’t pay attention to the exact wording. Instead of bringing her true love to her, it sent her closer to HER true love. The spell hadn’t exactly been specific. The problem is that her true love isn’t of her world.

She cast her spell on July 4, 2020 23:44 near Rome, GA … and was transported an instant later to July 5, 2020 04:44 near what would have corresponded to Caerleon, UK. (Feel free to use any calendar you like. 43rd Year of the Yak would work.) Sunrise was at 03:38 am at that latitude.

The land is still locked in the Dark Ages, struggling to rise. There was never a Camelot, King Arthur, Round Table. There is no King at all really. Instead barons fight over the land. Brigands and slavers raid and loot. Culturally the land is Arthurian.

Magic. This is not Middle Earth. No elves, dwarves, etc. Mythological beasts are another matter. Magic is highly academic. The ability to use it is rare. The closest rpg system to the way magic functions is found in Chivalry and Sorcery.

This is a 1st edition pdf. Page 200 is close to where all the types of magic starts. But bear in mind, I am not looking for magical armies. Unlike C&S I do not plan to have monotheisms (Christianity, Islam).

My character.
The damsel in distress. She was exceeding intelligent in her own time and very much an overachiever. She is age 17.5 (recently graduated high school). Caucasian, dark hair blue eyes. She actually knew middle english, latin, gaelic … But she will be bereft of computers and all the 21st century perks. She cast the spell while skyclad. She was self made wealthy. But say goodbye to all that. I am going to submit her 21st century CS. Just bear in mind that much will be gone. (She is mildly OCD in her own time. The stress of her new environment will aggravate this.)

Your character.
Needs to be worthy of her affections. Knight, prince, etc. Shallow won’t do it. Neither does she necessarily care about social status. (Any godlike hero will do? Just kidding.) In truth, perfection might not be the answer. But neither would she take interest some evil villain. Again, this needs to be discussed. And yes, I will require a good CS.
