Anemia sucks. I feel like there's an invisible vampire sucking my energy through a straw.

Up to you as both options seem viable. In order to make it more realistic, the latter option would probably work better.

I believe that dealing with a bit more of realism would be interesting. Unless the characters have previously pooled their findings, having them be lost, if a PC quits would make the most sense.

That said, it's really up to you to make the choice.

Hmm ok thanks for the input! Perhaps, then, in the case of PCs dropping I'll give you an alternative way of finding out any info they might have had to themselves. However, I'll also try to have there be several different ways to arrive at the final conclusion, so you may not need all the info to find the culprit.

@Vesuvius00 Woohoo looks awesome!

Some great questions about the creatures. After a bit of gameplay and some rehash of what's needed, here's how it's working out:

There are several levels of daemons. The lowest, weakest ones exist just barely under the edge of our reality. Essentially they're just invisible monsters that otherwise exist in our world. They're affected by nature, can ransack caravans and make footprints, and can be hurt by conventional weapons.

The more powerful daemons exist on planes farther and farther away from our own, and have less and less to do with our reality. The most powerful ones can't see or interact with our reality at all, except with the Echoes. These daemons can't be simply captured with a tossed stone, but must either be half-dead or willing to be captured. The only ones that can hurt them are other daemons. The only ones that they can hurt are other daemons. And Echoes, of course.

The MODO exist in all the planes at once, and can freely move back and forth between our reality and the most distant existence. That's what makes them dangerous and unstoppable.

I hope I'm making sense, haha. xD
Ay ay here we go then!

@Cute Bumber hey hi! I've got no suggestions unfortunately. XD Any type of character you might find in a sci-fi setting, only must be human and no space travel. Technology levels can be pretty high (flying cars and nanobots) feel free to make stuff up. Most characters have spent their lives inside the city, but nobody is forbidden from leaving.

@Burthstone hey hi welcome absolutely! :3 no rush on the cs, I'm sure you'll have company whenever you arrive!

@Vesuvius00 I .... would have no objection to this. XD The weapons they've got are probably of dubious quality, but hey why not cool stuff?
I am here! I brought cookies!

@SaberClass4242 The Echoes aren't really a secret, and certainly nobody's been killed for knowing about them -- although there definitely have been cases of people having been brought back that weren't quite right or with their minds only partially recovered. Hence Kelodie's thorough examination before releasing people into the wild, so to speak, haha. It's possible he could've run across a rogue Echo that didn't like questions.
You mean for the pawprint? That's an interesting guess! :D

I do know exactly what made it, though. ;)
@Cute Bumber Ok awesome!

Lantern is open, if you like, but I will warn you that it sort of might be approaching endgame. The other characters have a buttload of advantages and powers by now, and other newer characters I think have felt a bit steamrolled -- however! If you don't mind dropping unprepared into world-ending chaos, there are a couple of Lanterns unaccounted-for that could use a new caretaker. ;)
