”umm… ubuh buuh.“

Eddie blinked, watching as Mercury struggled to form words or to even move his hand. Delicately letting go of his hand, she tried to figure out her next course of action. She'd seen the films, where one person found a way to tactfully reject the other, let them know they were just friends...

But for some reason, she wasn't able to say any of that.

”You shouldn’t be the one being sorry… I’m the one that’s sorry.“

"Mercury...." Eddie called out, and then she sighed. Leaning back in the seat, she put her headphones on and turned her music all the way out. Somewhere, in the various beats and rhythms, she'd be able to figure out why she couldn't turn Mercury down.

Perhaps, she liked him too.

Eddie froze, her eyes widening. Not being prone to understanding flirting and such, she was able to know the symptoms. An elevated pulse. Dilated eyes. She glanced at Mercury's eyes, and nearly swore under her breath. "Crap. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to...."

What didn't she mean to? Befriend him? Fall asleep on him? Make him fall in love? She didn't know how her own thought, her own sentence, would end.

”I think I’m sick… Though now I don’t know, because I feel a lot better now. “

"Okay well...Here, how do you feel now?" Eddie asked, desperately hoping that he just had the monster flu. She held his hand, giving him her best winning smile. If he was in love with her, that should cause something to happen. And if he was just sick, she'd hand him a barf bag and convince him to lay off the sweets for the rest of the flight.

The flight to New York was nine hours, fifty five minutes long. Had there been any stops, it would have been much longer. Instead, Eddie slept through the safety lecture, slept through the first three times they came by and gave out complimentary drinks, and slept through Mercury's heart beating a samba. Eventually, just five hours into the flight, she let out a yawn, and opened her eyes.

Shit, Eddie winced, realizing that she had drooled a bit. Quickly wiping her face and hoping that Mercury didn't notice, she caught a glance of his nervous look. "Wh-what? Is there something on the plane?" Eddie whispered, looking around frantically.

Seeing nothing, she sat back in her seat, attempting to relax. The lack of foot room was irritating at best, and she tried in vain to stretch out her legs, achieving nothing. Noticing a Dr. Pepper on her tray table, she quickly gulped it down, shivering a bit from the caffeine rush. She chuckled a bit, and peered out the window, attempting to see.... Nothing.

"Sorry, I get restless on planes," Eddie chuckled. "Are you alright, man? You look like someone's after you...again."

I just got done beating Call of Duty: World At War (trust me I like the older CoDs better than the new ones) and I'm wondering if anyone's interested in a World War 2 prequel to this RP. XD Just a thought, really.

Dude. I was honestly wishing there was one of those yesterday. Count me in.

@Gilgex Please tell me he's wearing Warlord and will actually puke :D

Tryke Lockley

Location: Altenian Main Docking Port A1 -- The Confiscated Ship

Tryke opened one of the hatches of the ship with her mind, peering down. Wires and parts were sticking out, buzzing with an electrical flow that couldn't flow. Pursing her lips, she rolled her neck, before jumping down the small little tunnel itself.

"Turn the power for this ship off, please!" Tryke shouted. It would have been smart to do that already, but the entire assault had thrown her for a loop. In a moment, the sparking of the wires stopped, and she grinned. As far as she was concerned, the repair crew was one of the most competent on the Altenian Nexus. Without them, the entire tower would actually fall apart.

Getting to work with mending the circuits, she heard storming footsteps from above. "Hurry up, I want to get the fuck off his world."

Must be the asshole of a pilot, Tryke realized. Discreetly, Tryke climbed up the ladder slightly of the hatch, just enough to be able to see the pilot. He started assembling a bag, putting clothing and other belongings inside it with all of the care of a drunken gorilla. "Don't fuck anything up on my ship."

"Maybe if you weren't a dick, this wouldn't have happened," Tryke muttered, just low enough that he couldn't hear. Using her PDA, she notified the security team Tom sent down there to restrain the pilot, or at least, prevent him from leaving.

"Tom, pilot has left the ship, looks like he's planning on going to the commissary...Hope your boys are able to restrain him," Tryke said on the PDA.

Leaving it on this time, she jumped back down, hitting the bottom. A few of the circuits had already been repaired, but a few of them needed resistors and capacitors and fresh wires. Replacing each bit meticulously, Tryke slowly worked her way upward, hoping that her team had cleared away the shattered and ruined parts. By the time she made it to the top, that one portion of the ship had been repaired beautifully.

The air conditioning was now fully operational once more.

"Rorus, status report, please," Tryke asked, brushing a bead of sweat off of her forehead.

Rorus chuckled sadly. "The crystal drive is... We can't even scrap the thing for parts."

Tryke groaned. "Typical. We'll have to order a new one, then. Tristan isn't going to like this...Well, what can we fix, for now?"

"Umm...," Rorus paused, searching through his notes. "The stabilizers are the only thing left we can fix, really. That crystal drive is the biggie...How much are those going for, now? 100,000 credits?"

"Probably more," Tryke answered sourly. Pressing her PDA, she opened up the channel with Craig. "Hope you aren't too busy, but the ship is going to need a completely new crystal drive...Can one be ordered? We used the spare on the last ship Tristan wrecked."

Interacting With: Armando and Lisa @AbandonedIntel

Eddie grinned, flashing a smile. "Let's do this!"

Climbing into the helicopter, Eddie quickly found a seat in the back, but one where she was able to look out as they went. Squirming a bit with excitement, she could hardly believe it was happening. This was it. A chance for her to actually give back, beyond traveling to random countries and playing the victim in order to take down a few low level thugs. This was it--her destiny awaited her.

Finishing off her energy drink and blasting music through her headphones, Eddie settled in for what she was certain would be an extremely long flight. It wasn't like they were going just one or two states over -- they were going to Colombia!

At least it's not Brazil, she chuckled to herself.

”I’m sorry they treated you that way. It’s not fair to the world to keep someone like you hidden away. You’re honestly my first real friend I’ve ever had, a gift I cherish. Maybe your parents were just greedy, and didn’t wanna share you with anyone.“

Eddie couldn't help but feel touched. To be someone's first friend..."I mean, I don't hate them or anything for it. Don't blame them much, either. Can't have been easy, you know? They were just doing their best."

The call for boarding sounded, and Eddie tugged on Mercury, waking him up from his brief siesta. Handing him his ticket, Eddie joined the line, and showed the agent her ticket when it was her turn. Having it scanned, Eddie boarded the plane, motioning for Mercury to continue to follow her.

"We're in the back of the plane," Eddie said, going to the third to last row. Settling into the window seat, with Mercury having the seat next to her, Eddie shut her phone off. Closing her eyes, she quickly drifted off to sleep, her head falling to rest on Mercury's shoulder.

Eddie laughed at his surprise. Grinning from ear to ear, she wondered what else would go on. The more she got to know him, the less terrifying Mercury seemed to become. He was just a kid, pretending to be some sort of merciless creature of the night. ”Damn girl, gonna give a guy a heart attack… So where is New york? You got work there or something?“

Eddie shook her head. "I'm a university student right now, doing research in order to get my masters and then doctorate in physics. New York is just a major city, and any flight out of this hell hole is good to me."

Leading the way, Eddie quickly taught Mercury the basics on going through security. Going through, she was pulled aside, and given a full body scan. She was used to it, smiling at Mercury as she was given a pat down by one of the TSA agents, scanned several more times, and then sent on her way.

"Security likes me," Eddie joked, meeting Mercury as he was eating some candy once more, people watching.

”Airports are fun… I like people watching. I wonder what childhood is like,“ Mercury added.

Eddie paused. What was childhood like? She had been homeschooled, her parents hiding her from the world because she was different. Her sister wasn't born until Eddie was nine. She hadn't had childhood friends.

"I wouldn't know," Eddie smiled bitterly. "My parents bought the same parenting guide that the King and Queen in Disney's Frozen did, I guess. The entire "hide your freaky daughter from the world" thing."

Her eyes drooped a bit, and she couldn't wait for boarding to begin. By the clocks on the walls, it should start in just under fifteen minutes. If she was lucky, she'd be able to sleep on the plane... without anything terrible happening.

”Yeah, alright let’s head out. I just hope they still have tickets available.“

Eddie reblogged one last cat photo, and put her phone in her pocket. "Should be fine. We'll likely be stand-by, see if we can get on the same plane. If not, no big deal."

She watched as his forms seemed to melt into one another, and Mercury became what appeared to be the opposite of himself. A geeky white boy stood in front of her, not unlike the type she used to find attractive. ”Age of the geek baby, age of the geek.“

Laughing a bit, Eddie shook her head. "That's more of a nerd get up, Merc."

He held out a hand, and Eddie raised an eyebrow. She was just sitting on the couch. It didn't take a lot of effort. But, figuring that he was just overprotective like Jackson, Eddie accepted the aid. Maybe he thinks I'm bad at standing up too, though... ”We should take a cab there. I’ll pay for it. Seeing as I’d rather not get pulled over with a stolen vehicle. Especially in this area, as cops are fucking dirty as hell. Convenient when you’re murdering people, not so much when trying to flee.“

"As long as you order everything, I'm good. No speaky porto...I give up," Eddie sighed.

Following him out, she was on auto-pilot until they reached the airport. Mercury wandered off to get snacks, leaving her to go and figure out tickets. Approaching the counter, Eddie was thankful with the little sign that indicated that they spoke English. She glanced up at the departures list, looking for any city that she recognized.

"Two tickets to New York, please," Eddie asked, handing over a wad of cash to the agent.

A few stunned faces and two printed tickets later, Eddie and Mercury (underneath his fake name) were booked for the next flight leaving for New York. They had about an hour to get through security and board the plane, but Eddie knew that Mercury probably would spend the entire time eating sweets.

"C'mon, loser, we're going to New York!" Eddie said, rejoining him.
