The thing about Oswald is that there's two major aspects to his personality: the part of him that refuses to sit down and take it, and the part that can't help but be swallowed by the darkness and the despair. Both aspects have been shown a bit: the former when he went rage-mode after the massacre during his mission (as well as him bloodying a good punching bag afterwards), and the latter when he shut down as soon as he saw the destruction.

I figured out his two theme songs, actually. Both by Johnny Cash (well, one was originally by Nine Inch Nails, but Johnny made it his own with his cover, and if you disagree that's too bad because even NIN said he made it his.)

Oswald Connolly- Critical Failure

Once again, Oswald found himself overwhelmed by the level of math that they were expected to do. This stuff looked like specialized knowledge, rather than part of a general knowledge base. He was a Huntsman, all he really did was slash things and help people. Sure, he could understand learning history, but math? Especially this level of math?! It was absurd.

So Oswald's mind did the most logical thing in the face of absurdity: shut down. His shoulder slumped, his eyes turned hollow and blank, and his mouth hung ever so slightly open in total confusion.

He stayed like that until he heard the music, and more importantly, Sapphire saying his name as she made her way out of the classroom, motioning for him to follow. More than happy to abandon this evil work, Oswald followed after her. As she pulled out a set of ear plugs, Oswald's eyebrow raised. I keep my ear protection in my locker with my other stuff. Damn school making us wear these uniforms instead of our combat gear. Though we do stink to high hell after a good fight, so...maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Pretty sure he means me, since I had the audacity to pick Sapphire's side in the little spat her and Napoli had.

Snow, go back to page eight or nine of the IC, and read the part where Oswald tells Sapphire, flat out, to lay off of Diamond because of her shady past. He's not whipped, he just so happens to disagree with you that Napoli is an ass.

Also, when the inevitable conversation about Oswald's killing people comes up, I doubt he and Sapphire will be on the same side, if her father's opinion about it means anything to her.
