Maria is usually called Mari by her closest friend, she has always been called that by her friends ever since they were little or her younger sister. But her mother calls her by her real name.

Commoner: Maria's family is middle class her mother working as a waitress at a restaurant while her step-father owns a small convenience store. Maria in her early high school years had a natural talent for photography as well as videography, which she had two classes from her old high school. Maria's teacher could see that talent and convinced her to applied and managed to win the lottery to get into Caelbury Academy and moved in over the summer before classes started.

Appearance

Maria is on the very short size around 5'3, she doesn't wear anything expensive or designer clothes. In the summers Maria is always seen wearing t-shirts or tank tops as well as shorts and sneakers. In the fall and colder months Maria wears leather jackets, or winter coats in the winter under her coats are always either a hoodie or long sleeve shirt as well as a pair of blue jeans and leather boots to keep her feet warm.

Maria always has her hair down and keeps it as neat as possible, she doesn't wear to much makeup just enough to make her presentable she doesn't own to much jewelry only a few necklaces and a few bracelets. Maria has a large scar on her back received by her stepfather who hit her with a belt for 'misbehaving' in front of him, she is very conscious about it and always keeps it covered not wearing a bathing suit that exposes her back to anyone and when asked about it she quickly tries to change the subject. Other then that her body is well taken care of never looking underweight.

Personality

Maria when you first meet her she is very shy and quiet at first and can usually be seen as being very distant at times. But once you get past her shell she is quiet friendly she can be a very loyal friend as long as you don't hurt her or betray her trust, she can make witty comments every now and then and can make some of her friends laugh. Maria is very smart and excels in history and literature classes, she is however the happiest when she has her camera out going out into the woods or somewhere else that is quiet and takes photos.

Maria is really well known for taking scenic photos, when Maria isn't in school or out taking photographs she likes to spend her time in her room where she likes to relax. She also enjoys playing games with her online friends and even has her own YouTube channel doing another thing she enjoys playing video games. Maria is known to be a bit of a klutz at times, and sometimes will trip over things and is known to be accident prone a lot of the time. Though Maria gets really good grades she however falls behind and struggles in science class as well as math, Maria can be a little bit to honest or sarcastic to her friends that it sometimes may upset them.

Maria has a natural fear of spiders when she sees one she will instantly run out of the room, she also has a fear of blood seeing either one of the two will make her squirm as well as her step-father. But the most fear she has is the fear of being alone and not finding someone who she could be happy with.

History

Maria's parents original met each other in college they instantly fell for each other, he went to study law and eventually he became a police officer Maria's mother went for culinary arts. About five years after they graduated Maria's mother found out that she was pregnant with her, and nine months later Maria was born. They both were extremely happy for their newborn girl. When Maria turned six however tragedy struck her family, while on patrol Maria's father was responding to a call when he got to the scene he was shot and killed by a drug dealer. When Maria's mother received the call she was devastated by the news, now a widow it took her another five years when she turned ten Maria's mother remarried.

At first things seemed to go pretty well, Maria's mother became pregnant with her second child Maria's half sister. Maria then noticed her stepfather became very abusive towards her mother, then he turned on her and started to become abusive to her as well which she received the scar on her back from being beaten by his belt. When Maria entered her first year of high school Maria had taken a photography course which she fell in love with. Maria despite things that were happening at home continued getting good grades in all of her classes, when Maria was about to finish 11th grade Maria was approached by her photography teacher. He told her about Caelbury Academy and that she could applied and was one of the lucky few to win the lottery to get into the prestigious school.

When Maria finally was accepted her mother was really happy for her, she was also in the process of divorcing her new husband the week that Maria went to the school her mother and half sister had moved into their grandparents house. But her mother promised that she would see her when she could and send her any supplies she would need every few weeks if she needed it. Though her first year at a completely new school she is slightly nervous but excited.

Favorite memory

In her old school Maria entered a national photography contest where she had to submit several scenic photographs, whoever the winner was those pictures would be put up into the newspaper and the winner received 1,000 dollars. Which she won her submissions were a sunrise and sunset overlooking her home city, which were beautiful. She still has them now enlarged and posted in her room.

Least favorite memory

Maria's least favorite memory was when she heard the news where her father was killed, she will refuse to even talk about it unless she truly trusts someone.

Alicia looked up at Ashton as he went to pick up the unconscious Jade up, she shrugged slightly. "Ah you know a broken ankle other then that i'm pretty fine. What about you?" Alicia asked jokingly trying to lighten up the mood. Alicia looked over at Nina as she offered to take Jade off of Ashton for him and offer her a shoulder to lean on for support. She wanted to help in some way but she was hurt herself and with only one good leg she couldn't support carrying anyone of her friends right now. Alicia spotted a tree branch nearby and reached over towards it, it looked like it would be sturdy enough to support her own weight and could use it as a crutch possibly.

"I'll be fine, thank you both of you for the offer." Alicia said softly as she groaned slightly as she stood up and leaned on the branch, Alicia slowly limped towards Jay, Scout and Katalina she didn't want to burden the rest of her friends who had their arms full carrying Scout, Jade, and Katalina. "How far is it to the main road?" Alicia asked hunching over slightly turning to look over at Nina since she apparently knew the way to the main road back to town.

Alicia started to think about Tessa, Mal, Grant, Olivia, Alice, Petyr and Everett and all of the other party goers she hadn't seen either one of them since Jade's full and complete meltdown. "I hope everyone else is doing alright." Alicia said looking down at her girlfriend who was still laying down on the ground unconscious still she was worried for her the most and hoped that she and Scout would wake up soon.

Elena Reese

Elena looked over at the woman who called her a bimbo for parking, when someone was clearly hurt and injured. "Well sorry for that princess." Elena yelled back sarcastically. When she got to one of the paramedics Elena led them over towards Norman they quickly got a stretcher and set the injured man onto it. "They will take care of ya alright?" Elena said gently patting him on the shoulder as they wheeled him off towards the nearest ambulance. Elena turned to look over at the woman who yelled at her earlier, she stood there by her car and crossed her arms over her chest staring at the woman and the man who accompanied her.

Elena somehow got the feeling they were up to something and quietly followed behind them, when she was close enough to the yellow tape she looked around as the cops were distracted by something else. Elena quickly moved under the tape and made sure that she wasn't seen by either of them and stuck to hiding behind cars or large chunks of debris from the remains of the school.
