Heroes of Beacon - the Next Chapter

I posted for the contest because I really wanted to do something with an idea that's been lingering around my head after a discussion with my friend. I really won't participate in the next contest!

A Small Dream (non-canon!)

Sangue Naga stared at what appeared to be her teammates.

The previous day was both uneventful and quiet. She liked quiet days, as she preferred not to strain herself too much in doing work. Contrary to her appearance, she did not enjoy slashing Grimm all day without taking a break. Sangue was a person, and as a person, even she had limits to what she wanted to do.

The day after the uneventful day turned out to be one of the strangest days of all.

Sangue stared at three tiny teammates bickering with high-pitched voices. A tiny, big-headed Chibi Benjamin swung his hands to the skies, squeaking about something Sangue was unable to decipher. Trad Oak giggled, and Amaranth blinked as if she were confused.

Her teammates had turned into hand-sized midgets.

I know I’m strange, she thought to herself amusedly, but this is much stranger.

The red-haired woman simply sat still on her bed, watching Benjamin continue to fling his arms around and making Trad laugh even more. That day, the three tiny people were the first things she met other than a wall that belonged to the dormitory.

Instead of reporting the strange situation to a teacher, Sangue decided to interact with the tiny people.

With a piqued curiosity, Sangue poked the tiny Ben’s cheek, causing the tiny boy to turn to her with wide eyes and a confused look. The confused look was soon replaced by a wide smile, and soon, Sangue found both Ben and Trad (for some odd reason) to run up to her. The red-haired girl reached for her Apophis Claw and placed it on her lap, slowly plucking her tiny teammates off of her bed. Amaranth blinked at her and remained silent as she was picked up by her waist.

Sangue felt her heart melt at the sight of Ben, Trad, and Amaranth staring at her with wide, childish eyes.

Reaching out for Amaranth, Sangue gently pinched one of the girl’s cheeks out of her steadily growing curiosity, causing the red-brown-haired girl to let out a soft “Meep” as she closed her eyes. She then thought about petting the girl’s head.

Now that she thought about it, Sangue would probably never be able to do this if her teammates were sized normally. And since it seemed like no one would interrupt her…

Sangue raised one of her fingers before petting Amaranth’s head. The girl’s hair was soft and feathery. The tiny Huntress let out a quiet giggle as Sangue pet her.

After Sangue played around with her tiny teammates, she soon found herself falling into another slumber. It all ended as quickly as it began.

“…”

She soon found herself sitting on her bed again.

“…”

Though the dream was certainly short, it was a pleasant experience. Sangue wished that the dream had been longer, for she rarely had such strangely peaceful dreams. Spending time with three heartwarmingly happy midgets proved to feel much better than she thought it would.
She then realized something.

The longing for a dream to last longer had become quite distant to her by the time she joined Beacon. Just then, she had a dream that she wanted to enjoy for longer.

“…”

A strange thought.

Perhaps she was getting a bit greedy?

Sangue personally thought that being greedy was better than wishing of nothing. It was only when she dreamed that she remembered what her heart spoke.

Strange.

Sitting up on her bed, Benjamin Lloyd, her team’s captain, asked her as he finished dressing up,

“Ready for today?”

“…”

Sangue turned to Ben. Just a few moments ago, he stood on her Claw. He now stood at the dormitory, ready to skim through classes before preparing to make last-minute efforts on finishing his homework.

It certainly was the Ben she had grown used to.

“…”

Ben blinked when Sangue motioned of him to move over to her, but he complied quickly.

“Is there anything wrong, Sangue?” He asked as he slightly crouched to match his eye level with Sangue’s, wondering if she had something important to say.

Sangue stared at him with her usual idle expression. Shifting herself a bit on her bed, the woman reached out for his head.

She then pet his head.

“…”

“…”

Ben opened his mouth to say something, only to find that he was at a loss for words. Sangue silently stopped rubbing his head.

A very small smile entered her usually stoic face as she softly spoke,

“I'm never ready.”

That's a joke for that part. Stella is 100% female, I don't see the need to change it or otherwise I'm not sure if I'm trolling but if I did, it actually worked. xD
