Ser Arton Velaryon(NPC)

Interacting with: Illysia Blackfyre @ViolentViolet

They say that all boys that are talented with the sword dream to one day become Knights of the Kingsguard. And Artons talent truly surfaced when he was only a child on his 9th nameday, defending his mother from one of the many drunken feats of his father. His uncle, the Lord of Driftmark, knowledgeable of the details concerning the abusive behavior of his brother had both his nephew and sister-in-law live with the main family in the Castle of High Tide, and made sure to give Arton proper education, fitting to every boy of noble birth. As a squire, he always seemed to be faster and stronger than his peers and an early knighthood was soon to follow. Only a few years later he would be called to the Capital of Kings Landing to see his uncle standing besides the King seated upon the Iron Throne, Daerys Targaryen. His uncle always dreamed of another member of his family joining the Kingsguard to relive the glories of old, like Ser Corlys Velaryon the first Lord-Commander of Aegon the Conqueror. And Antor accepted, for it was the least he could do to repay the debt he owned him.

He was never sure if he didn't want to have a wife, father children or rule over lands. But what he was sure of at the present moment was the lustful abandon he felt everytime he touched Illysias skin.

The now fully armed Whitecloak studied the dragon skull upon the fireplace mantle, reminiscing the stories his mother used to tell him, of the Dragons that the Velaryons used to ride during the catastrophic civil war between Rhaenyra and her brother. His gaze then returned to the bastard princess and for a moment, he felt as if he overtightened the straps of his breastplate. Before him stood a vision of pure Valyrian Blood and the formation of words became a momentary trial.

"You truly are a beauty my Lady...even the Maiden herself would pale before you." he said to Illysia as he tried to stand uptight.
@ViolentViolet

Done.

So, you want me to reply with Arton right after you post?
@ViolentViolet

You are free to do whatever you want Violet. I can even sent you his faceclaim I chose for him. And yes, I shall portray Arton. I was going to do that eventually.
Well, we would need someone to rouse them eventually.

Also, I hope you don't mind my character being a bit of a jerk to yours. I thought it would be a cool subplot to have a mutual respect between the two of them be developed overtime.
@Musoka

How do you think you overstepped him?
@ViolentViolet

I am not sure if I will have my main guy break his vows, but I am open to any plot ideas you might have. I will NPC the Kingsguard(if the GM will allow that), and I actually just send one of rookies to guard Illysia Blackfyre. Kings Order you know....
@ViolentViolet

I already stated in one of my in-character posts the rest of the Kingsguard knows about it. It is a common theme within the Song of Ice and Fire, the Kingsguard have three utilities. Protect the King, gight his Battles, occasionaly offer advice and keep his secrets. That also extents into the circle of the White Brothers.

For example, everyone in the Kingsguard of Aerys the Mad knew that one of them, Prince Lewyn Martell, kept a secret lover. I am just aking so it doesn't cause any problem with the plot.
@ViolentViolet

Hey Violet, I have a question for future reference. Is it common knowledge Illysia's mother is the Kings sister and the Lady-Commander of his Kingsguard?

"Thank you Roslin, but I am fine." Leofric said to the handmaiden as he politely declined her offer for a cup of tea. Branching with the Princess rather than protecting wasn't explicitly listed within his duties as a Kingsguard. After all, he was sure that the liquid would sour in his throat the moment he laid eyes upon Aeryn Sand once he entered the room.

It wasn't as if Leofric hated the lad, but the fact that his family was considered the pit of disgrace for the Kingsguard during the rule of the Baratheons was not something easy to get by. Plus, he personally believed that neither the King or the Princess needed the protection of a Sellsword when they were surrounded by the finest Knights in the realms, but that wasn't something he would openly admit.

"Allow me to correct you Sand...this is my duty, and I took an Oath to follow it to the letter." the knight of Tarth answered in his usual straightforward tone and just left it there, before turning to listen to the concern of Princess Myriah.

"If this what you want Your Highness, I am sure your father wouldn't be cross if you took the initiative to meet the Wards by yourself. But your aunt Rhaenys has already a prepared plan..." the reason the entire family would meet the Wards underneath the shadow of the Iron Throne and surrounded by the Whitecloaks was aimed to project strength and stability within the Crown. It would also serve as a safe environment for Myriahs mood swings that could appear in the most unexpected occasions. Although she seemed extremely calm this morning, Leofric still wasn't sure if the Princess was ready face such a multitude of characters and personalities on her own, even with himself and the Dog having her back.

Leofrics entrance into the chambers was followed by a curt nod to Roslin, a young lady whom by this point he was quite familiar with. Being the Princess' handmaiden for five years, the Knight from Tarth knew her even before he was appointed as a Sworn-Shield, and he even helped the daughter of Lord Hersy from an awkward situation with a young(and quite drunk) noble during the nameday celebrations of Prince Aenar.

"I hope you had a restful night your Highness." Leofric said after a courteous bow, his hand resting upon the pommel of his sword while watching Lady Myatt putting the finishing touches upon Myriahs tiara. With only few months under the service of the royal family, Freida was still within the zone of suspicion for the Knight, who was watching carefully for any foolish attempt. After all, a poisonous needle could be most efficient and truly unexpected.

"You already know that your Martell cousins arrived in the Capital three days ago. As of the rest of the wards, the Goldcloaks reported of their arrival this morning and most of them are already waiting in the common room as we speak. The Greyjoys and the Arryns of the Vale are still nowhere to be seen..."

"But I have to compliment the Queens eye for fashion. You look astoundingly gorgeous your Highness." Leofric added. As a Whitecloak, the pinnacle of Chivalry, it would be unacceptable to keep a courtesy from a Fair Maiden, especially if she was a Princess of the blood.
