Okay: "The bar glistened with an incandescent glow, but was the price just? Overhead, red skies of rosary hue put a spotlight on my sins. I killed a man for money, and in turn it costed my soul.

@Kaga Classs Excellent! Just send me a character sheet of your own design for your character submission. I'll bump it up to a [3/4]
The lovely @Aisling has thrown a hat in the ring. @Twisted Mind and @evierose, feel free to take your time ruminating :)
@Kaga Classs Glad you're interested! Let me know if you'd like to be involved and I'll change the [1/4] in the title to [2/4]
Let's set the scene.

A summer job and a gathering of four. Congratulations! Your group interview has concluded with your team getting the position! The role of Security Operations Management! Make sure your uniforms are ironed, your sleep schedules tight! Because we will be doing this all.. Night... Long.

You are a security guard for an undisclosed correctional establishment with no name and no obvious faces in the prisoner population, nor in upper-management. Your employment opportunity was presented to you in the form of a black, unlabelled envelope offering the potential for an interview. The money's amazing, the graveyard shift is acceptable, but the goal is unclear.

Every night you are presented a list of instructions printed through a small machine with no apparent rhyme or reason. You are cornered in a tight box in the middle of the underground establishment, and the hallways parallel to your sides are lined with doors with numbers, and no windows to perceive through them. Will you break the rules and leave your post, exploring the dungeon-like hallways? Or will you stay put, be a good dog and do as your told?

One of those choices will kill you, and the fact is... The answer isn't as obvious as you think.

Rules
Let's keep this simple:

- God moding, God-like characters and disregarding injury or harm: Big no-no. Keep your characters balanced with strengths and weaknesses. If your character is being attacked during the role-play, make realistic responses to harm. E.g describing realistic ways your character might dodge an attack, or persuade an enemy. Your characters will be human, but don't be dissuaded by the race-lock; people tend to change in this place.

- In PVP, use "advancing" language instead of "absolute" language: By this, I mean - when attacking or generally including the actions of another player in your post, phrase it in a way that doesn't force them to enact it. E.g don't say "I stab so and so", instead say "I swing my blade in so and so's direction, attempting to hit their neck". Keeping events open ended keeps everybody happy.

- Just be transparent: If you're unable to post for a certain time or can no longer participate for any reason, that's fine, but please let the group know when you can. Communication is key.

__

Oh, and another thing...

- If you're interested, either DM me or reply with your character concept, or even beforehand just flick me a quick expression of interest and do your character in your own time so you don't feel too rushed.

- This bit's important. In our first cycle of posts, "interviews" will be conducted for each player character, so feel free to use this "introduction" to display any further information about your character. Keep your answers to the interviewer's questions in the same vein as your character might respond. This is not a test, simply a bit of information gathering. You have been notified.
Bumpity wump.
Oooh, this is my kinda gig! Definitely keen.
Bump: Including my character catalogue as linked below for ease of access. More characters will be added onto it in the near future.

This will be an ongoing character catalogue for "Mightier Than the Sword" universe, a modern-day take on a fantasy world. This universe is an alternative history take on the 21st century with dungeons and dragons-like elements. It will feature small contained narratives, but the grand story will unfold throughout these roleplays.

Main Characters

W.I.P
Hey. Unorthodox title I know, but let me explain:

The gimmick is a fantasy background in a modern day world, where we play as two hitmen with fantastical elements. You can be a Dragonborn, Orc, Skeleton, etc... Or even just a human with magical abilities.
Think the movie Bright, but not shit.

Happy to brainstorm further world building with any potential partners, but the summary is:
It's the year 2023. The world is burdened by a caste system favouring the woodland elves at the top, the middle-class filled with humans, and the bottom line an assortment of Orcs, goblins and "reject" races. This is all due to the commandment of a false elven deity making its presence known through the destruction of an entire continent in the year 1935, leading to a religious renaissance reforming society to favour the "pure" elven races. Life for all lesser races has started a cycle of pure monotony for them, serving to power the hungry economic machine for the greed of the rich elves.

Tearing through an unjust society, two hitmen a cut above the rest decide to make their money not through the merits of their birth right, but through the might of their ability to murder.

Your partner is a resurrected skeleton named Daz. Without a previous memory of his living life to inherit, he is subservient to a Lich kingpin for an assassination agency. You are a new recruit. Whether you kill to escape the shackles of poverty, to swim in the blood of your enemies, or to get to the bottom of a political mystery, all is fair in murder and money-making.
@Viper Sebastian
Brook feels like an underrated strawhat to me. While not as tanky as one of the big three, he's almost just as capable.

Thanks a bunch!
