I'm going through a block from hell, plus I'm not nearly as invested in my characters as I was at the beginning. I don't know why the hell I have a block either. :/

You could always redesign the character and slowly change him over time?
I'll use music during the brainstorming stage while I'm thinking of the scene and gathering my thoughts together, but in writing I usually prefer silence so I don't stuff up my grammar and such.

In regards to music for a post, I've seen and done it a couple of times but it's something that I'm on the fence about. One of my favourite posts had some soft music that could play in the background to set the mood and scene. It was one of the few times where it didn't feel forced and the song was very mellow, but I've tried it before with other styles of music and noticed that sometimes it comes across more tacky if the wrong song is selected.

That's why when character sheets are selected and people say, "Choose a theme song", are not always the best course of action. How you portray your character and the choice of music can really affect the atmosphere? Even choosing similar songs with slightly different lyrics will be enough to change a character entirely, not to mention the development of a character will also disjoint itself from the song if they change too much.

Edit:
Got an example but it's a bit Off topic so I'll hider it.

/me imagines Cara running with a vacuum cleaner...

@NuttsnBoltsbuying or renting?

Buying.
@NuttsnBolts pretty easy going. Doing my usual morning ambling around while I wake up. Yourself?

Chasing around documentation for housing properties and working a fair bit this week. T.T

Fun stuff...
Nope.

I read the RPs I'm in, and maybe a couple posts of one I'm entering, but I won't read an established RP that I'm not entering.
My post is just before yours so I'm just waiting for another person to make an appearance first :P
Morning lovelies :)

Hello Thar.
How's your day been so far?
Thread closed as I have a partner selected.

NuttsnBolts 1x1 Interest Check

So let's start off with the basics...
My name is NuttsnBolts and I'm a 28yo Aussie male that's looking for a partner to 1x1 with for a bit of a long term/continual project. I've been in several RPs and one of the issues I've regularly experienced are stories that go so far, or build up, and then peter off to the abyss for a variety of reasons. It's a bit disheartening so by keeping the group as small as possible, ie 1x1, I may have a chance of being in something that will grow and flourish into a grand story.

My RP Style:
  • I prefer casual to advanced level in posts quality. Generally 500 words tends to be my average length.
  • Unfortunately my personal and work schedule is all over the place so the most I will ever be able to post is once a day, but don't be surprised if I leave it 2 or 3 days between my replies.
  • I don't mind swearing, violence and adult themes but I'm not interested in romance or making a love story.
  • I usually, but not exclusively, play female characters.

What I am looking for in an RP Partner:
  • Someone that is willing to make a long term project out of this, not a summer holiday time killer.
  • A person that isn't a sole reactionary poster and doesn't just respond to my posts, but helps develop the story and character(s).
  • The willingness to make multiple characters if needed.
  • Someone that is willing to talk, have a joke and chat sometimes in the OOC. If we don't get along and/or aren't communicating, then this partnership isn't going to last.

Some themes I enjoy:
  • Science Fiction
  • Normal to Dark Fantasy/Supernatural (Currently what I feel like I'm leaning towards as I've just been in about 3 sci-fi RPs)
  • Apocalyptic (This will depend. Could be zombies, demons, nukes, aliens, etc)

Original IPs I wouldn't mind exploring more (No cannon characters):
  • Tokyo Ghoul (I'm real basic on my knowledge of the series)
  • Soul Eater
  • ...possibly some others I can't think of

In saying all that, I don't have any plot design at the moment and I'm just in the enquiring stage of things and I can be occasionally picky on what I want and don't want, but I'm open to suggestions. Nothing personal about declining ideas, just would like to be on the same wavelength when I'm working with the selected individual in setting up a story. So send us a PM to tell me a bit about yourself and what you're thinking and we'll see how this goes.
@NuttsnBolts, I do believe it would be a fair question to ask - what is your pikachu relationship beyond an avatar? I feel as though there is some good story or history to this.

They look cute and I found 2 while randomly looking around. xD
Isn't proper English rules that capitals are for proper people, places or things?

That example now means that we have a person called Situation, Sad, Her's and Noone. So please tell me! Who are these people? I wanna know who these characters are and how they ended up with their names!
