When Sapphyre first heard about the problems within the inner city, both her and her boyfriend believed they were just exaggerated rumours about a protesting group riot. So instead of evacuating the area and heading out to find a safe shelter, they simply went off to work like many of the other people around her home in the outer city limits. A mistake that proved to be fatal for one of them to say the least.
She doesn't know where it came from, but the last image Sapphyre remembers was of her partner was when he was torn to pieces by the monster that used to be called a human. She fought back to try and save him, but it was simply too late. He was gone and since then she has been living simply on survival instinct until she would eventually come across another person with a living soul.
