I don't think this has been asked lately as I went through a few forum pages to see whether a topic already existed, but when you're looking for a roleplay to enter what is it that catches your attention and what do you make the effort to look for?

Do you look through the interest checks or are you happy with looking at established roleplays that you can enter at a later date?
Is formatting or structure something that you keep an eye out for?
Or are you happy with an idea, however presented, as long as it's clear and precise?
Does the reputation of the GM matter or are you willing to give each roleplay, no matter the GM, an individual chance?
In the case of 1x1s, do you look for plot ideas, or people with a similar mindset and desires?

I suppose that there's many, many more questions that can be asked but I'm just curious as to what everyone does when they skim through the forum to find their next RP to enter.
Don't see a reason why someone should be afraid of showing off their picture. You look the way you look and it'll never really change. If someone does decide to mock anyone for their looks, then they are simply individuals that no one should associate themselves with.

Just my 2 cents in saying that you should be proud of your appearance no matter what.
Only time I ever read another RP I'm not in is when I'm looking to see what someone's writing style is like, and even then it'd only be a post.
Still looking round for a possible partner.

While I would love to do a Roleplay with you, I'm not sure if either of those appeal to me right now (especially because I'm fairly uneducated on Japanese mythology). You might have better luck elsewhere.

It's all good. :)
Thanks for the reply, and... until next time. xD
Ages ago we were discussing the possibility of a roleplay, but it was something that never really got a decent amount of traction. Currently I'm feeling like something Japanese Mythology based, similar to Okami, or wouldn't mind a game based around demons, witches, black magic and such.

If you're interested, let us know. :)

When you get to the point that you're not enjoying it, that's the best time to either re-evaluate the roleplay, or move on.

(It's a bit hard to understand what's happening since you've fluffed up the explanation a bit)

I simply went along with their request, after all I hit them up and it's rude to act like any different (At least this is how I feel). But it's getting way out of control where I feel like its not going to work out. It's like they want to rush it, or half ass everything and start really fast, where i like to ease my way in and then pick up the pace.

This was your mistake. You have the choice to decline the request, but you didn't. By accepting you don't really have a leg to stand on if you want to complain about it. You say that they are moving too fast but could it be that you, perhaps, are moving too slow? They have an idea and maybe the personal ideas you are presenting are rocking the foundations of their idea.

Without us knowing what's "actually" going on... could you inadvertently be annoying them and that's why they are getting frustrated and snappy?
You can start an RP at any point. Just because your join date may be an hour ago doesn't mean that you aren't as good as someone who has been here for years. It just means that you're new to the site.

As long as you present your idea clear and well, people will become interested. Be aware though that in the case it doesn't work out it does not mean that it was a bad idea or that you don't have any cred. It could be the wrong timing (multiple of similar style), could be during school exam periods, or even it was bumped out of view by accident. In any case if you keep at it or try again in the future, it might work out.
Going to push this up as I have a bit of space for another role play. :)
