What is AID I hear you ask...

AID stands for The Anubis Industry of Defence and consists of the toughest, and most highly trained students and fighters that the DWMA has to offer, all under the control of a female leader rightfully named Anubis. It is so exclusive that many, if not all students of the DWMA have never witnessed nor heard of a member that attends this exclusive class. This is because the requirements to get into such a class are quite... unusual.

For starters AID was not built exclusively for your typical Meisters and Demon Weapons, but also for Monsters, Demon Weapons who can operate without a Meister, Hybrids, and even Humans who have a Strong Soul. All those who wish to aid Death on his quest of protecting humanity but yet have no true position within the 'Death Weapon Meister Academy'. The Meisters and Demon Weapons who have been accepted into this class must have completed their entire school curriculum and have proven their worth by killing a witch. Only then will they have the chance of being selected for AID. Sounds like a bit of a tall order, but it is understandable when these newly graduated students will be working along side others of a very different nature.

So why do we need this special group? After all the Kishin was defeated, right?

Well shortly after Maba, The Grand Witch, ordered some of her most devilishly twisted companions to set forth and cause as much mischief as possible to the Human Realm. She views this time as a true opportunity to gain the upper hand on Death and the DWMA while they have been weakened after the chaos that Medusa and Arachne caused.

Little did they know that AID was waiting for this very move...
- UNDERSTANDING THE ROLEPLAY -

In this Roleplay you will be taking control as a member of the DWMA's AID division. As stated the members don't consist of just Meisters and Demon Weapons, but an array of many other creatures and fighters. Each variation should have their own Character sheet available so please select one that suits your interest. Please be aware of the type of character that you are creating. They MUST fit into the Soul Eater universe and should have some flaws.

In order to keep the flow moving and prevent it from turning stagnant I won't be running a linear story for you guys to follow. Rather this will be a roleplay that you have the opportunity to control your own adventures. The idea is that each person will generate a quest or mission that they would like to participate in (eg: Investigate the people going missing in a certain forest, or defeat the beast that's terrorising a village), and they will be setting forth on their own designed journey. Other players can choose to follow them and team up or decide to set forth on their own project. My main aim is to have it much like the series where each character ventures off on their own arcs but return to their friends back in the DWMA. I would also encourage, so that it doesn't feel so lonely, for you to talk to your fellow Roleplayers and see who wants to team up for a particular task.
- IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE -

  • Please listen to me as a GM. I don't like it when people don't listen after I say no to something.
  • Please create a balanced character that suits the Soul Eater universe, one with weaknesses but someone unique and enjoyable.
  • The idea of AID was set up because I wanted to have a Soul Eater-esque style of RP but I feel that portraying cannon characters can be rather difficult. So this is a way we can avoid most of those issues.
  • I would prefer the Soul Colour to be picked from [here] so that we limit the chances of producing the same colours.
  • If you need any assistance I am here to help. This can be from character designs to allocated contracts. I get enjoyment out of seeing people do well and I would hate to see someone struggle because of their silence.
  • I will only be taking 1 character application from each of the Hybrid, Autonomous and Strong Soul Human categories. Soul Eater is about Demon Weapons and Meisters but I wanted to give some extra opportunities to those who had a unique idea.
  • Finally, Soul Eater Wiki for any info that you may require.

- ANUBIS -

Gender:
Female

Age:
A woman never tells...

Appearance:
Anubis is a slender female that usually enjoys wearing a long hooded cloak with ears stitched into the top in order to make it appear she has canine features with the same being said about her gloves to help make them appear somewhat like animal paws. To add to this the rest of her outfit consists of a knee length dress and flat sandals. Her hair is also a pure white and her eyes glow with a bright yellow hue.

When transformed into her animal form, Anubis has the appearance of an overly large wolf with black and white markings covering most of her body. The black marks were a trait that was left by Death's interactions when she was saved from her own fate. Her height when on all four paws is roughly a metre and a half tall with a tail that is long enough to easily drag on the ground.

Race/Species:
Monster

Type of Monster:

Soul Colour & Traits:
Spring Green - Anubis' Soul has a large Ankh that covers the front of her Soul. When transformed her Soul will sprout a set of Wolf ears on either side.

Abilities:
  • Werewolf: Anubis has the unique ability to change from Werewolf to Human, and vice versa, at will. While in Werewolf form her soul will expand to about 3 times it's usual size, indicating that her speed and strength have increased beyond their typical limits.
  • Strengthened Bite: Anubis' bite is much stronger than that of a typical werewolf. Her teeth are sharp enough that they are able to pierce into metal and even snap it in half on the rare occasion.
  • Flash Leap: While engaged in combat, Anubis has the ability to Flash Leap from one position to another within the blink of an eye. She is able to perform this both in human and werewolf form, but the amount of times she can do it will differ between the two.
  • Resistance: The God of Death fragment that was left inside her soul has given her body a decent amount of resistance to most attacks and even some toxins. While not immortal, she can suffer some quite damaging blows and recover from them over time.
  • Combat Trained: Training for a few hundred years does give you the upper hand in many fights when compared to many other fighters. This includes many conventional weapons like staffs, twin blades and swords.
  • Almost Afterlife: In the event that Anubis suffers a serious injury, she is able to feign her own death and place herself into an unconscious state. During this time she is quite vulnerable but her wounds will heal at a much faster pace, allowing her to awaken with a renewed energy.
  • Death Claws: While in Werewolf form, Anubis is able to throw the back markings off her body and convert them into a pair of Death Claws similar to that of Death, and his son Death the Kid. These were an ability that Anubis gained through the soul fragment that was left in her body.

Weaknesses:
Most of Anubis' weaknesses lie in her stamina, which includes her ability to remain in her werewolf form for an extended amount of time. This also includes her Almost Afterlife ability, where she isn't only able to perform it once per fight, and her Death Claws, where after a few uses she will be unable to reproduce them until she has had time to fully recover.

When it comes to werewolf immortality, Anubis unfortunately doesn't share the same trait as many other Werewolves. This was an unfortunate side effect bought on from Death's involvement. She does have the extended life, but a stab to the heart or heavy head trauma will end her life.

Her Soul Perception ability is rather lack lustre with only the ability to sense the soul of another. She is unable to tell the type nor the true strength, and thus can sometimes engage in a fight without fully understanding the strength of the opponent.

She also has a weakness for adorable looking puppies, something that she never had until her transformation into a werewolf.

Brief History:
Anubis, a woman who has now forgotten her original birth name, can almost be classified as a distant cousin to Death the Kid based on the experiences that she had several hundred years ago with his father, Death himself, and how he once saved her life from certain death.

Anubis grew up in a small Egyptian village as the daughter of a local Weapon Meister. During the evenings her father would teach her about the various creatures and monsters in the world and the role that Death and the Death Weapons played in keeping these dangers at bay, while during the day her father would venture off to participate in the missions that Death required, defeating monsters and the occasional witch that would happen to enter into a human populated area and cause strife. Unfortunately it was on one of these missions that his desire to help others would leave his family in the most vulnerable state possible.

A werewolf on the prowl entered the village with a hunger for blood and happily slaughtered it's way through the people. When Anubis' father returned that afternoon he found everyone had been murdered with the exception of his daughter that was fighting for dear life. Unable to find the monster that did this horrible act and worried about the survival of her daughter he rushed Anubis off to Death City in order to see if there was anything that the Lord of Death could do to save his daughter.

Upon seeing the man's daughter Death performed an act that had the chance to save her, even if she would live with an endless curse. Death used a fragment of his own soul to help keep her alive, and thus giving her the yellow eyes and a much longer than expected lifespan, the downfall though was that the werewolf bite awoken on her body and completed it's transformation, converting Anubis into a Werewolf with minor God of Death abilities.

Being eternally thankful to Death for his generosity, the girl took up the name of Anubis as a symbolism name which refers back to her Werewolf origins and how she cheated death through the help of a God. To help pay back her saviour, Anubis helped Death to start up AID and as the centuries progressed, she became more and more passionate about her role and how she could use it to protect others around the world.

Allocated Contract:
Being the founder of AID, Anubis doesn't really receive any contracts unless they are of a high and urgent priority from Death himself. Because of this 'freedom' she is quite happy to help out on some of the contracted tasks or stick around the DWMA and Death City.

Synopsis: (Datum)

  • This is a modern day sci-fi Roleplay that takes places across two planes of existence. The real world and a mirrored, digital world known as 'The Hack'.
  • People discovered The Hack through the internet and soon learnt that they were able to access this cyber world by logging into it under a chosen alias name. Once logged in their consciousness would be imported from the modern world to The Hack, leaving their body in the same position it was in until they left the virtual world and regained their consciousness.
  • At the same time that The Hack was first discovered people began to notice many devices were going a bit haywire with some gaining an almost self awareness state, purposely logging people out of important systems, or moving machinery without a user input.
  • These interferences are caused by Malicious Programs (MPs) within the digital world and they became a threat that has to be removed. In order to do so these MPs must be drawn out into the real world where they would follow the rules of nature, ie: if destroyed would remain erased for good. Those MPs fought within The Hack would only be temporarily destroyed where they would soon rewrite themselves, reappear, and cause the same havoc that they did before.
  • Those that entered The Hack were able to gain special abilities or summon unique weapons in order to fight these MPs. When they return to the real world to eliminate the threat these people are able to use their smart phones to summon their abilities or weapons to finish off the job.
  • Any user that enters The Hack can only do so for a limited period of time and this is based on how powerful the device is. For example, a computer user can enter for a longer period of time when compared to a smart phone user, however if a situation arises, a smart phone may be your only option.
  • Some inspirations for this Roleplay include sources like Bleach, The Matrix, Tron, Inception, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Persona 4.
Important Character/Plot Info:

For this RP we are starting right at the very beginning when everyone's character was first made aware of 'The Hack'. This means that everyone's abilities and weapons will be new to them or at a reduced state until they can learn how to control or upgrade them. They 'will' be inexperienced in their skills. A few ways to approach this would be like a level up system, or each of the character's skills have to be found within The Hack. This is only so that each character doesn't start off as a powerhouse, but evolves naturally as the Roleplay moves along.

As for the story it will be fairly limited as it will be more of a story about your characters interaction within the world and their personal lives. This is mostly to prevent people running out of ideas or being forced to play into a set path that they may not wish to go down. So there will be no mysterious organisations, no major plot twists, no over arching villains. It's a story about survival and trying to set the world right. In saying that if you have any ideas feel free to express them and we can look into it.

With characters please be creative with them but do not go overboard with their abilities. I would also refrain from making every person a programming genius or a nerdy kid at school. These are people who stumbled across The Hack by random, not selected. They also have their regular lives to live so not every moment will be spent fighting Malicious Programs.

We are also going to start off with a relatively small group of people so that's it's easier for us to manage and we can generate post a lot quicker. Because of this there will be limited positions and we will be going over the character sheets in details to ensure that we select the right people for the RP.
Quick References:

A list of details that people may wish to refer back to:
  • Westbay: The location in which this Roleplay is set. This is to make it easier for people to meet up rather than live all across the globe.
  • Hack Live: A message board similar to a chat box where users can keep in contact with each other in case of emergencies.
  • Malicious Programs: Also known as MPs, these can come in the form of Viruses, Trojans, Worms, Hijackers, etc. Each type will have it's own special abilities and appearances.

Additional Notes: In case people are wondering why I named the Roleplay 01101001 or "i", it's because of a few reasons. First the Binary for "i" is 01101001 and if you split that in half you can see that the numbers invert each other (0110-1001) symbolising the two worlds. i was also chosen because within technology i usually stands for Internet or Intelligent, which can relate to the world that people will be entering into.

Plot:

Coal is set within a steampunk world that has been altered into a form that is quite unique to what people are familiar with. At some point in the past the world's magnetism began to reduce in strength and the days slowly grew longer. Sections of land around the world began to loose their grip on the surface, forcing them to lift up and float towards the skies but stay within a low lying static orbit. The clouds, that were in the past out of reach to even the birds, sank closer to where these land masses flew and created an ocean of white mist between these new islands. The result was two worlds separated by a thick layer of air but with reach that what happened to one environment could easily affect the other.

Since the world had changed so much and humans were just in the beginnings of an industrial era, steam power took off as the most advance and reliable form of energy. It had little to no effects from the changes in magnetism while utilising the now exposed natural resources that were once hidden underground. Many inventors and scientist tested their numerous ideas and designs for various forms of machinery but none had the power or drive as the Children of Umbra.

The Children of Umbra is a somewhat secret and exclusive community of people who believed that the power of electricity holds some amazing attributes, and that if harnessed correctly could produce a form of great power beyond what anyone could imagine. Unfortunately many authorities did not follow the same belief and viewed their experiments as a form of witchcraft and blasphemy. Many rumours have arisen about the Children of Umbra, however only a few members can recall their true history as many of the leaders were killed by members of the two great families.

The Aristocrats are one of these two powerful families, a house shrouded with confusion and mystery extending back several hundred years to the Medieval times. Over the generations their dynasty has become an ever growing collection of brothers and sisters who have forgotten which ancestry line is truly in charge. Even with all this uncertainty they still somehow receive orders and information from an unknown source who claims to be their true heir. One thing is for certain, it was the Wall twins who were responsible for the Children of Umbra killings but due to the nature of their crimes it could not be proven which one committed the act of murder.

The second family, rising to true power after the lands rose to the skies, are the House of Hudson. Unlike the Aristocrats that are heavily into their English heritage and consist of many different families combining into one, the Hudsons are one family that can trace their routes back to an American like source. Their current leader is Jeffery Hudson Jnr with his father, Jeffery Hudson Snr, lying in an prison for his contribution in the Children of Umbra killings, never to be released. This was part of the reason why the Hudsons migrated back to Orhurst and by doing so they bought their Wild West attitude back with them.

Many would assume that the two families would be civil towards each other considering they each had a common enemy but the truth couldn't be more different. The Aristocrats dreamed of power, status and control; a family that believed their destiny was to rule the lands before them. The House of Hudson desired greed from the natural minerals in order to fuel their expanding and ungoverned growth. As long as the Aristocrats occupied the lands, the House of Hudson's dream could not be completely for-filled.

- Which family is destined to take control of the region and what turned them into such bitter enemies?
- What role do the Children of Umbra have in all this and what are they planning?
- Why did the families kill the Children of Umbra Leaders and what secrets have been lost?

These questions and many more have been left unanswered for so long that it has created a partially tense and corrupt environment that needs to be resolved.
Important Details:

Time Period:
Coal is set within a Victorian English period so please keep in mind the history and style of architecture, clothing, and influences during this era. Since the House of Hudson is from an American background there may be occasional Wild West influence within their allocated areas.

Style of RP:
This is more of a realistic style of Roleplay. There are laws so keep in mind what can and cannot attract attention from the authorities. Unnecessarily killing people or committing acts of crime is generally not advised.
This Roleplay was inspired by sources like Bioshock Infinite, Sherlock Holmes, Romeo and Juliet and possibly many other things, however it is not based on any of these sources.

Location and Travel:
There are two main locations within this world.

  • The City of Londonary: Londonary is a city built on top of a collection of islands that have risen from the earth below. The buildings cover as much of the exposed land as possible however several small islands have been left untouched to allow various people access to more natural areas. To allow movement between the various islands there are bridges, pathways and cable cars that provide most of the local transport while blimps and skyferries allow for longer distance travel.
(I don't believe planes should be a part of this RP as they can be considered a bit of an advanced technology)

  • Orhurst: Orhurst is a mining town not far from where Londonary casts it's shadow on the world. It sits to the edge of a large crater with many tunnels extending their reach from the base to the village outskirts. The land that used to occupy the crater is what has become the City of Londonary. Within the centre of the town is the main hub that contains both a railway line that travels out of the city and to far away lands and a cable car station that connects the town to several islands.

Technology:
Typically steampunk is based on industrial equipment, clockwork designs and exposing how mechanical machines works. Computers will not be within this time period, but some electronic devices may be available.

Powers/Magic/Weapons:
Because this is an alternate world some 'minor' special powers or magic may be available but the main form of magic comes from artificial sources such as Alchemy and Pseudo Science.
(Note: Frankenstein's monster is an example of Pseudo Science where the Doctor uses electricity to reanimate a dead body.)
Also note that weapons are generally the type of addition you would carry around in everyday life. Therefore I really don't want to see people attempting to carrying around miniguns, claymore swords or even a BFG 9000.

unique roleplay designs

This is a thread that will contain several roleplay concepts, ideas and WIPs that I have crafted and will possibly reuse/build upon in the future. Unfortunately it won't contain every concept that I have created as some of them are not always worth mentioning, however these are the ones that I feel proud of.

I would ask that people do not post in this thread and if you wish to comment on any Roleplays, however you are more than welcome to PM me. :)

Aaaaaaah! Sorry i havent been on in a week!

Still joining us?
So scratching my brain and trying to think what has been nothing me lately... and to be honest, everything is going swell.

Got a couple of RPs I've started recently, some really good feedback, and although one RP I'm in is in a hiatus, it's not the end of the world.

Only real concern, that I killed quickly, was a 1x1 that started with shithouse grammar. This was pre-teens grammar. No captials, no full stops, repetative words and simple explinations.

But other than that... nothing from me for once.

...into the fire

Air is quite a peculiar element that both exists in the world and yet it is also nothing at all. Not many people would think twice about the invisible substance except when they felt the wind blow, where it created a perculiar combination of pressure and sound. This ghostly blend lashed over Rachael's body as she rushed her way along the magrail track, sending sounds of speed into her ears and pressing against her body. She could feel it flow through her hair, tugging it behind her head, waving it around like a flag announcing it's surrender. It was one of the few experiences she could feel that was similar to what everyone else felt. An element that did not require the need of sight.

Rachael stretched her arms out to the sides, opening herself up and pushing her chest forward in order to take on the full force of the wind that pressed firmly against her torso. She let one limb begin to drop as she entered a gentle swooping motion, lifting the arm back up to continue the sway from one side to the other. A technique that in her younger years would have attracted the desires of unsavoury men and women. A hypnotic dance, a mindless trance, a muscle memory movement of meditation and relaxation; all in order to push out the thoughts and memories that plagued her fragile, tortured mind.

Those very thoughts and memories she was trying to push out were of those she serviced, the ones that sexually abused her and the ones that cherished her intimacy. It was like a disease in the brain, constantly reminding her of what she had done, how she had gotten to this point, and how she would never again feel that childhood innocence that was taken away from her at such a young age. She had lost a lot of her identity over the years by playing the submissive part that oh-so many people wanted, just so they could get their jollies off, just to appease their personal hunger and thirst. A cash payment for whoring your inner self out to the world itself.

What kind of person was she originally destined to be? It was a distant dream that would never again be reached.

Gaze stopped swaying back and forth as the faint smell of the slums entered into her nostril. A disgustingly foul odour that was a harsh reminder of the home of where she once lived. The smell of smoke, of alcohol, of sewerage, of a rotting city that was left to crumble, it was a place that would never leave her past no matter how far she ran away. This night however she was venturing back in to find Elisha, to do as Julius ordered, to kill that little bitch and place a bullet in her god-damn-bra...

>Network Connection Lost

Rachael was completely ripped out of her zen like state with the digital voice that abruptly announced in her ear. She placed her hand over her wrist and tapped the problematic device, listening to the error filled buzzing sounds of a gadget that wasn't obeying her commands. Something felt off about this change. There was no reason why she wouldn't have a signal, especially around the rail network. Gaze let her visor drop down in front of her eyes intending to use it to peer down at her communicator, to see what was causing the technical glitch. She hadn't even reached that point when she saw the horizon around her.

Ash, carnage and fire; all doused in a downpour of depressing rain.

The grainy images fed into Rachael's broken brain through the cameras, lacking the colour range of a normal eye but filled to the brim with intensity and emotion. The glow of burning buildings filled the district skyline, a destruction that was spreading with very little effort. It was demonstrating how fragile this unclean ecosystem had become, how Rachael had received a front row seat to the premier screening, how her day could turn from shit to cataclysmic.

"I don't... understand?" It was a query that offered no answers at this point in time. She didn't want to believe what she was seeing, what she was experiencing. How did she come this far into the Slums and not realised something was amiss? She looked down at her watch and checked the time, noticing it would take at least 20 minutes to get back towards Neon.

A sudden explosion, followed by a harrowing screech of rubber, rang through the through the empty streets below. It pulled Rachael's attention away from her own concerns and back to the harsh, unfair reality. With intense haste she skated over to the side of the magrail and shot her attention downwards only to see a Hunchback flash past her vision in the alleyways below. She had seen Hunchbacks before and it didn't seem out of the ordinary to see one in the Slums, but it was the other being that caught her attention. A blue, glowing humanoid that howled to the moon like a werewolf.

The ambient sounds of the Slums shifted as more and more of these demon like howls could be heard. Their noise sent a cold, spine tingling shiver through Gaze's body, an unusual feeling into her hands and legs, causing her to feel the beginnings of a sickening numb sensation. The beginnings of fear was only aided when a body crashed into the rail beside her. Her view instantly turned back to the direction in which she was travelling from, only to see the lumped corpse of an Advent thrashing about on the tracks. It had clearly attempted to side tackle her but due to her speed she managed to escape it's mighty lunge.

Paranoia began to sink in with Gaze's breath quickening to account for the unneeded panic. With each intake of air she noticed another creature climbing up onto the magrail, rushing for her, attempting to bring her down. They were trying to kill her?! They were blood thirsty and targeting her, like an animal, like she was prey. No, she was prey!!! She had dropped to the bottom of the food chain and these "things" were going to be her end. They looked as if they wanted to rip her to shreds, tear her limb from limb, leave her screaming in pain, begging for dear death!

There was too much going on, she couldn't process what she was seeing, her mind was moving at a speed she couldn't control. Rachael instinctively reached for her injector, no second thought, no desire to fight through this without her high. She grabbing it off her chest strap, holding onto the chrome cylinder for dear life, gripping it the clammy hands that wanted to fumble it out of her fingertips. The addict held out her scarred left forearm and plunged the injector into her ravaged skin, pushing hard in order to ensure that she got the dose that she wanted, listening to the gentle chimes that it voiced. All she had to do now was wait...

"Beep...

Beeeep...

Beeeeeeeep..."

The very second Gaze pulled the syringe away from her arm she could feel the world begin to slow down. It would take her a moment to adjust as she felt the chemical concoction enter her body; travelling round her veins, dulling her senses, reducing the heighted psychosis that her mind had decided to cultivate. One poison to counter another.

"Focus on what you do best, what you've trained for, what he expects you to do..."

Her own words were reassurance that she had to survive, no matter what it took. The damsel reached behind her back and placed her hand on the long black case, clutching a soft grip, squeezing it hard, and finally giving it a slight tug. The metallic case immediately opened up, folding back it's protective sides to expelled it's deadly contents; a collection of wires, steel, ammunition and explosives. Gaze could feel the jerky motion of the Tarkus as she flourished it out before her body, still transforming, still aligning up it's corresponding pieces. If god could create life on the world in seven days, Gaze could create death in seven seconds. Each click signalled that it was getting closer to killing time, that her time as the prey would shift to that of a predator. That she would become the one most feared.

The hunter took one last view at her surroundings, analysing both exactly where she was positioned and the lane she was travelling in. She needed to rely solely on her instinct, her memory, her time spent on the magrails within the slums. The visor lifted up, sending her artificial world back into the darkness that she knew so well, all before rotating round and choosing to travel along the rail network backwards. A decision to fight her enemy face to face.

The Tarkus rifle was raised up to her eye, granting her the ability to see her glowing targets as clear as day. It made it easier that they couldn't hide their luminosity within the cold, wet night. Every being had a weakness and this was one of them, something that could be used against the monstrous beast themselves. Gaze lined up a shot within the cross-hairs, sighting down the gun, focusing on the one that needed to die... and pulled the trigger. The gun exploded with fury, sending three round flying down towards the enemy, hitting the target, downing the body, but regrettably she could not confirm a kill.

The Advent flailed on the ground, rolled over onto it's front and attempted to get back up to run after Rachael. Luckily for her she had created some distance between the two, but with more of these blue beasts coming after the human, it was in essence a bitter-sweet victory. Gaze took a shot, and another, and another. With each shot round she targeted a new creature, trying desperately to make sure she didn't miss, but also frantically finding out if she could kill them, if they were in fact mortal.

The gradient of the mag rail began to shift indicating that the female needed to quickly scurry to a safe, adjacent lane. She leapt the small barrier, entering the vehicular designated section just as the personal lane she was in branched off to one of the exit ramps. It was too dangerous to exit the rail network at this current point in time, she needed to build up some more distance, needed to ensure her safety. Rachael gave a quick sprint, boosting up her speed before turning back for round two. She didn't have much further to go but at this point in time it was a matter of if she would eventually make it.

The Advent kept coming. With each one that she took down, another two would appear. It felt like a never ending onslaught that was playing more and more against her with every passing minute. They were getting closer, clawing at her, reaching a few meters away from her body. Rachael felt a sudden burst of air pass her, causing her heart to stop beating in fright. Quickly she whipped her gun sight over to see an upturned car, an unexpected object that she narrowly missed. It was that moment she fully understood that if she made any mistake, any minor mishap, she would become mince meat. A silver haired dinner for the hungry ferals.

Rachael felt a shift in her plane of existence, it was that point she was waiting for, that saving grace moment. Steadily the ground began to rotate anticlockwise, pushing her body up slowly into a position that would eventually end up parallel to the earth below. She could see in her sights the creatures making a final leap for her, unaware that the angled ground would affect their trajectory. With one last hurrah Rachael lined up her launcher towards the middle of the hungry hoard and pulled the secondary trigger, sending a package of explosive death into the crowd.

The grenade hit it's mark, a fireworks display of limbs and bodies that rained across the magrail, scattering their fleshy mass in every possible direction.

Rachael breathed out heavily as her oddly orientated body whipped it's way between two narrow apartment blocks. She could feel the adrenaline and sedative fighting against each other in her system as she held her gun behind her back and let the case reabsorb it into it's protective cocoon. The visor dropped back down as she reached for the injector in order to analysed it, pulling it off her chest and checking the indicator gauge on its side. With a slight huff she realised that she may have made a mistake.

"I double dosed... didn't I?" she expressed wearily, realising that she may have been a bit too aggressive with the amount that she took. An error that could cause a problem if she was to get into another unnecessary fire fight. It wasn't the most difficult position that she landed herself in, but it was far from the most desirable.
