Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!
My top RP's on the Guild:
Young Justice 2020 Justice League Unlimited Titans of Gotham Champions of Engine City Marvel Reborn Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]
Top Characters:
Ditto - Young Justice series Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited Leviathan - Titans of Gotham Fastlane - Champions of Engine City the Thing II - Marvel Reborn Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return
I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!
Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.
Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.
OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.
This interest check is for building a universe based on a familiar set of archetypes. The idea is to build a universe but not necessarily a team right off the bat unless the lot of you wants to. We could just as well base the team off of the Justice League, however I think the Avengers gives us a lot more archetypes to toy with. The cast will hopefully be around 7-9 players or so, with any major archetypes lacking in the RP to be created by the rest of the group. So if we go with a Justice League set of archetypes and we need a Superman to kill off I can toss a name out there, somebody could come up with a power set resembling Supes’ to a degree, a few of us could all have a hand in the backstory. Same thing could be done with an Avengers set of archetypes if nobody takes the Thor/God archetype. The idea is to create a universe together right down to the supporting super-characters in need.
Here are a couple of Avengers offshoot teams created by DC. First off ‘the Maximums’ based on the Ultimate Avengers aka the Ultimates:
Here’s another with a much larger cast based on the larger Avengers line-ups of recent relaunches:
The general idea is to build a universe similar to how the big two comic book companies have done with heroic crossovers, fights between them, and team-ups leading into the eventual founding of a superteam within the game. Now, that isn't saying you HAVE to join a superteam. Originally in the comics the Hulk only joined the Avengers long enough to take down Loki. When looking at the building blocks of a more connected universe I look to movies and story lines like Batman vs Superman, Civil War, the Avengers, Justice League War [the animated retelling of the new52 JL origin], Hulk vs. the Thing, Secret Invasion, etc. There are a lot of teams and concepts involved, but not everyone's characters will be team players or want to be. And I get that. There will always be the option no matter which universe we take ques from to have a 'Wildcard' which is exactly what it sounds like. Can be anything and not even based on an existing archetype. Maybe you wanna create something of an amalgam of Hawkman and the Punisher and toss into a DC themed universe as a vigilante w/superpowers? That can still happen. I'm looking at using a Green Lantern archetype or a Black Panther archetype myself.
I'm also going to be one of those people who insist this is a High Casual RP. I'm not exactly looking for Advanced level length posts, I just don't want to have to assist everyone with their own individual stories because that isn't what this game is about. Two or three players could be working on their own thing in the game while I'm mimicking a battle like Hulk vs Thing or Superman vs Batman with another player in the background. If we lack a Superman or Capt. America type character, then the group can have dibs on collectively making them like I mentioned above.
I won't bother posting a Character Sheet template or anything yet, this is just to test the waters with a new original universe concept since the two games I GM have both slowed down. Looking for 7-9 players or so to begin. You can make a hero or villain. I also need everyone's opinions on which universe to take notes from, DC or Marvel. Again, I think Marvel gives us more archetypes to play with... and I'm a huge DC fan. We'll also likely come up with an original universe equivalent of NYC or Astro City so that most of the heroes can be neighbors somewhat defending smaller areas of a much larger city.
So, who's got heroes? And who potentially wants to co-create other supporting heroes and villains with the rest of the group? If enough players show interest I'll get the Character Sheet template up sooner than later.
Eh, I was going for more of an inspired line-up outside of the trinity. Normally I'd have put Hal on the squad, but then John was just sitting around not getting any love. And instead of Flash and Cyborg I went with Starman and Zatanna. Originally Black Lightning was also gonna be on the squad but now that we've got plenty of female members the NPC [Lightning's daughter] isn't needed.
Archangel flew through the sky looking for a specific landmark in the upstate New York woods. After he was a good length into the forests he touched down and looked for something now on foot. He finally came upon a hidden bunker that looked like it hadn't been opened in years. After becoming a student at Xavier's Institute and seeing what was called the 'Danger Room' as a teenager, Warren used his wealth to build a smaller version for personal use. He'd only used it a total of three or four times before deciding to keep his head down until after he took control of the company. Plants and vines were grown up all over the latch, luckily Warren had a sword with fire emitting from it. A button in the handle conserved power and it returned to a normal broadsword looking blade. He sliced through the shrubbery and entered through the latch punching in a number code to get through a secondary door which lead to a ladder that went probably twenty meters underground. It dropped into the center of a dome like room roughly the size of a middle school football field and about seventy-five meters high. Warren didn't have to worry about anybody else getting to the ladder.
"It only took me twenty minutes to get here at my top speed. Should think about giving myself an actual headquarters, maybe build another wing..." he began to think to himself before cracking a smile.
"LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!" Warren yelled activating the Angel Room's voice controls, "Three enemies, two capable of flight, Central Park setting."
Configuring settings... said a voice over the com link.
Central Park had been created to near perfection. Archangel wondered what sort of old files the system would dig from to create the enemies. Three holo-droids came up from a port in the ground, two turned into red and black Sentinel like robots standing roughly fifteen feet tall. Both could fly. The holo-droid on the ground turned into a Bruce Willis looking soldier with a machine gun. It was about to get real.
Warren flew through the air facing the pair of robot attackers and dodging the bullets from below. He pushed the button to ignite the flames on the sword. When one of the robots got in close enough Archangel flew lower into the trees and slices at one of the arms of the robot nearly taking it clean of with the one strike. Propelling backwards after landing the strike with the fiery sword, he stabbed through the other robot and rode it's husk down to the ground where the soldier had run out of ammo. Warren flew up in a large gust of wind pushed from his wings and knocked the soldier down and put the sword to his neck.
"I think I won this round. We need to update the files. And I need to add on to this underground structure..." he said out loud, "Now... I need to get back to the office and read up on this Doctor Johnathan Sweet..."
Changed my guy to a Big Guy rather than a Lancer. And I just found out all 110 episodes of the show are on YouTube! And holy cow, Whoopi Goldberg did the voice of Gaia? And for the villains, the list of celebs who contributed voices is insane! Meg Ryan, Sting, Jeff Goldblum, Tim Curry, Martin Sheen, etc... My mind is blown.
Jay is just over six feet tall with bright green eyes, dark brown hair, and a masculine jaw line. He usually has stubble as he never shaves completely it seems, and his wardobe is that of a slacker. Generally wears jeans with and without holes, a worn pair of white and blue Adidas, and shades of blue and green shirts. In general, appearance wise he's probably closest to Wheeler of the original team. If we get the Planeteer t-shirts, his will most likely be navy blue or a deep shade of green.
Personality
The Russian-American likes to push buttons just because he can. Jay's smile and good looks usually gets him out of intense situations, but his mouth tends to get him into confrontations with authority figures more often than not. The teen is a bit of a hothead and pretty impulsive, and often enjoys just being alone somewhere like Central Park when he needs to think on something.
When his mouth opens, that's when he comes off like an asshole a lot of times. Pushing buttons, even with that smile, tends to piss more people off than it does open up a friendly conversation with others. This puts him at odds with his teammates and friends and he's constantly separating himself from groups to think more clearly on matters. He's competitive when it comes to people he's closer to, and generally believes 'anything you can do I can do better.' He recently moved back to Brooklyn to live with his father, leaving his American mother back in Ohio. Jay is trying to man up and be more responsible, but his world was recently rocked when he found out his father had ties to the Russian Mob.
Backstory
Jay was born in NY to a Russian father and an American mother in '98. He lived in Brooklyn until his parents divorced when he was three years old and his mother took him with her to live with family on a farm in Ohio. The next fifteen years Jay would live an average life, make average grades in school because he never pushed himself, as well as rack up a juvenile record of decent length before turning eighteen. Questioning authority never did him any favors, least of all after getting caught spray painting 'JAY' on train cars, bridges, and rundown building walls back in the small Ohio town. Thankfully, he knew how to talk his way out of most situations.
When his eighteenth birthday came his father visited him as he always did, this was roughly halfway into his last year of high school. His father was surprised Jay wanted to finally move back to NY with him after so long, in reality Jay had recently went through a bad string of relationships. Now he's back in Brooklyn, living in Sheepshead Bay by the ocean, and trying to live the life of a big city kid. Jay didn't have the New Yorker accent, and is often seen as an outcast. He's already been in several fights his first month and a half of school because of it. Honestly, he wouldn't have it any other way.

I'll be submitting two CSs, one for an Earth Lancer and the other for a sixth Planeteer with the power over wood or metal on the off chance you can use a sixth member. Should have something up soon...
You guys should all do a Scientist Supreme arc and let some cosmic deity like the Watcher put you all through a series of trials. I think it was Hank just coming off a stint as Giant Man who got the Scientist Supreme label in the comics and then went on to form Avengers AI.
"I- It- Ehh- It's an honor to meet you all." spoke Nightlife.
"Um... did - did something happen to the other Green Lantern?" Zero asked in a bit of an awkward voice seconds later.
"There's two Green Lanterns for every space sector. The other guy is just outside the orbit of Saturn chasing off some space pirates. We're both members of the League..." John Stewart explained.
"Ves? Is she okay?" Zero then asked the Amazon Princess walking in her direction, not knowing that his arm was grazing the lasso of truth, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't protect her. Or anyone..."
"She is doing well, I'll let her know you asked about her. You might want to step back away from the magic lasso before you start telling everyone about everything you know." Wonder Woman answered with a bit of a laugh.
"Hello Zatanna, how's it been going? This whole team thing seems to be pretty cool.." Remy said to the League member who let him in on Batman's Titans.
"Glad to hear you're enjoying it so far, business as usual in the League..." Zatanna responded noticing that Wildcat seemed to be quitting as the younger heroes' mentor.
After Starman directed El Sasquatcho to the nearest restrooms, Thom Kallor walked back into the lobby where the rest of the League and the Titans were still hanging out. Superman looked at the group and knew that Robin had the right idea. And the team really wasn't doing too bad. Two members have been injured, a few dropped out, Wonder Woman's Amazon sister had been brainwashed, but only Robin himself had lost his life. The League knew Batman would die to make the Titans better heroes if he had to. However it wouldn't come to that. Wildcat was still kind of off to the side. He was old news now that the big guns were around. Ted Grant still felt like his job as their mentor was a big failure. He gave Batman a nod, and Batman walked over to the elder hero who had even trained him at one point in his career.
"I can't do it anymore, Bats. My Gym is a wreck, these kids keep gettin' hurt no matter what I teach them... I need to face facts that my best days are behind me now." Grant said in his usual grizzly tone.
"Ted, I don't think..." Batman began before the elder hero cut him off.
"My minds made up. You want to see this thing through Batman, then YOU need to see it through. Tell the kid's I'm going back to Gotham. I'll use the teleporter on the third floor so I don't ruin the kids' time meeting your team..." Wildcat said walking off.
"I thought Leviathan was a composite being, you're just one kid!" Aquaman said approaching Levi.
"Somehow in our battle against the Court of Owls I became stuck like this, sir..." Levi began.
"Call me Arthur, please." Aquaman responded.
"Okay.. Arthur.." Levi said smiling, "Do you think somebody like Zatanna could help us out?"
"Batman has probably already asked. It sounds like something more for a biologist rather than someone who wields magic. She could do as much harm as good...
