Current Alternatively - and now, hear me out - one could avoid looking up photos of such eldritch horrors ... maybe?

Back for my bi-yearly visit. Now where did I leave that thingy-ma-jig? Anyone seen that mish-masher? I think it looks like motivation or something!

@Vampiretwilight: Funny indeed. Now to make it into a roleplay here...let the madness and sassy Narrator commence.

@Sigurd...Music...I knew I had forgotten something!
@SigurdSame for you as everyone else, read the rules through again. But I like him, and the prospect of having his family there will certainly give me plenty of drama to add on ^^

@StekkmenYou either didn't read the rules or you did before I added that part in. Just need to make sure the rules are known and clear ;)

@bluetommy2No worries, at least you read it.
@StekkmenI like him, it's going to be fun to see him getting a whole mob of Player Characters at his neck! But before I can accept him, go and read the rules thouroughly.

@bluetommy2Not exactly what I meant, but sure, why not? Looking forward to your French-Indian bounty hunter doing some trouble. Go ahead and post him in the Character thread.

@DepressedSovietExcellent! Post him in the Character thread like I told Bluetommy to.
Posted! It wasn't awesome, but at least we're moving again.
Room 125

"The feeling is mutual, Dr. Dupree. For all the time I've seen your faces in my mind, finally seeing you two with my very own eyes makes me feel more..." Faye's voice trailed off, as if at a loss of words for once, though her face remained as calm and emotionless as before. Her eyes, resting first on Jeramiah and then on Emil, blinked once before resting once again on the doctor. "And no, there is no student of yours or the man of Stone that bears the name of Jeremy. But you will find him, oh yes you will, outside of these mortal walls. The Companions shall assemble, but it was only the learned ones that were destined first begin our relation."

The woman rose to her feet, her black hair falling onto her shoulder and partly covering her left side. As if nothing could stop her, she took one step towards Emil. Two steps, and three steps, standing only inches away from him. Her face was no longer emotionless, but caring; a smile forming on her lips as she stared him into his eyes. "If not a leader now, the experience of the Eonic Truth will give you experience. And there is much to be done, yes."

Her gaze shifted over to Jeremiah, her body standing perfectly still while her head moved, like an owl searching the night for prey. "There is not much I can tell you in detail, not here nor now. But what I can tell you is this; Dr. Atkins left clues for you too find, Doctor. You and his old friend, who already carried a small piece of the puzzle now solved. Go back to his office, before The Agent finds It and set the saving of your world in dire peril. It will lead you to a place, a dark and forsaken place that hides many secrets; both above and below the ocean. Your first trial lies there. And take this..."

A small amulet was placed in the hands of Emil, swiftly and without a touch. It was round, metallic of shape and texture, and a blue stone fitting its front side. "You will need it, all of you."

The sound of footsteps could be heard through the metal door, the voice accompanying it undechiferable for the two standing in the cell.

Jeremy Arthur Velera

"A...another suicide?"

Once again the theme of suicide approached Jeremy, but this time it was not of a dear friend, nor something that happened long ago. The man told him it had only just happened the other day before. Did he know about it? In searching him mind fervently for answers to that, he found himself at a loss. He couldn't remember hearing of said suicide, so was it so that it had happened yesterday? The same day his memory has vanished from?

The thought made him sick, more because of the freakish nature of these events happening to him and less about the suicide itself. They happened, of course, be it a sin or not, it still made his skin crawl once he reminded himself that only a few mintues earlier he had told August Dupin about one.

"No...it can't be. I mean, no I can't remember hearing of that, Sir. I was probably at work when it happened, long shifts down at the Garage you see." Jeremy tried to sound normal, appearing as if striking conversation with the stranger when in fact he was scared. "Would it seem strange if I wanted to look? Not at the body, of course, but at where it happened. I mean, I too have appointment here, so it wouldn't be unapproriate to look at the scene when just walking by? We could go together, makes it less of a scene, right?"

Once again Jeremy found himself lying; lying through his teeth for a reason he found disturbing, macabre, filthy and devilish - but he wanted to look, to see if this death was akin to the one of his friend. He needed to look. Perhaps then would his desire to follow that voice in his head vanish?

When revolvers ruled the West

"You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend;
those with loaded guns, and those who dig.
You dig."
- The man with no name

Howdy there, you fine ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Wild West. The place where fortunes could be found and made, where every man could be king of his own little speck of land and where a new life could be made. The place where all of this could and would be torn assunder by lawless bandits, the unforgivables ruthlesness of the land and ravaging Indians looking to take your scalp (if the stories are to be believed that is). Welcome to the time and place where history is made every day, alongside the newly lain tracks of railroads and deep in the valleys of the prairie! In saloons of dubious towns and at the other side of a fragile national border. Oh yes, the Wild West is truly a magnifecent place to be, isn't it?

The time is 1880-ish (up for debate later), and the West is there to won by those who dare. Your first destination is the small town of Haylliesburg, Arizona, for whatever reasons they now might be. Need a place to rest before you venture further West? It has a small hotel, it's nice enough and the cockroaches have all been evicted. Looking to settle down? There's still plenty of land out there for the taking, if you have the guts and guns to claim it. Need a job? There's always need for someone with a strong back and low expectations. Or are you just in need of something to drown your thirst and...other needs? The saloon is open for everyone, as long as you can pay of course.

Then again, you could be there for the very large amount of money that's passing through by train in a few days. The Army sure isn't protecting that gold, so why shouldn't you give it a try? I mean, what's the worst that can happen?

Anyway Stranger, welcome to Haylliesburg. Welcome to the Wild West, enjoy your stay and don't get shot in the back.

Hello to all of you roleplayers out there, it's been a while since I made an Interesting Check of my own. But it felt right to do it now. Anyhow, seen as I've finally watched the 'Man with no name'-trilogy and that there's a severe lack of Wild West-RPs on the Guild, I decided to give it a shot with my revover.

The goal of this roleplay and its story will at first revolve around said town and said gold; I imagine you can either be there as a goodie two-shoes, trying to keep those very mean looking men (and/or women) from stealing what rightfully belongs to the US Treasury. Or you can be a man of your own, following your own rules and not letting a few armed thugs stand in your way between that precious gold and you. But as the story goes on, I want to create a dynamic story with those who join (and sticks around) about what this band of people or two gets themselves tangled up in.

I don't think I have anything else to add, at least not as of now. As I'm writing this, it is already way too late for me who needs to get up early to study, so you sharp-eyed and quick-witted fellows out there might see something I've missed or completely messed up. Anyhow, I might add a Character Sheet to this post as well, to see what kind of character concepts you cowboys might come up with.

I hope to see YOU, saddled on your horse and ready to blow up some tracks or stop it from happening. Welcome to the Wild West, When revolvers ruled the West!

Rules

I'm not a big advocate for long lists of rules, as I believe that common sense and curtesy should be enough. But I think I'll make an exception with this one;
  • GM is God, High Judge, The Leader, your mother and the list goes on. My word is final.
  • The OOC should be used for discussions on how the Rp goes, where we want it to go or any complaints that may arise. If such happens, it will proceed calmly and constructively. If in doubt, refer to rule #1.
  • Don't be an asshole.
  • Life can get in the way sometimes, which is understandable. But if possible, give a heads-up in the OOC or by PM if you're going to be away for more than a few days. That is something that you have time for, don't argue.
  • Blood and gore will appear. Get your guns ready, you'll need them.
  • PG-13 will fade to black. I will not tolerate it, especially with Mahz (Praise be onto Him) in charge.
  • If you have read the rules and agree to them, go to the Extra-section of your character sheet and add a link to a post you've previously made posted here on the Guild.
  • This is the 1880's, the world will mostly react in an approriate way in regards to race, relgion, politics and guns. Always guns.
  • If in doubt, refer back to rule #1.
  • If you have questions, don't be afraid to PM me or ask in the OOC. I'm quite nice actually :)
  • This is a casual to low-advanced roleplay, and I will demand that you write accordingly. One-liners, out. Writing in first-person, out. Not following the narrative, out. You get the point.
  • Even though this is a Spagetthi Western, I won't allow every single one of you to be all "Clint Eastwood-badassery" all the time. It will certainly happen, but within reasonable limits.
  • In your Extra-section of the CS, write what your favourite Western movie is.
  • No more rules for now, but they will be added if needed.

Accepted characters

Character sheet

Not much to say here except what's already been said; create a character fit for the Wild West, don't create someone next to a god, keep in mind the world of the 1880's, and ask questions if anything is unclear.

@StekkmenFair enough, description is fine too. Just needed to ask :)
Sorry for the lack of promised posts, got dragged down to our cabin again. But I'll have the much-awaited post tonight!
