Well now that I got the customary "post once" requirement out of the way....

HELLO

Welcome to my safe space. Well, about as safe as one space can be, I guess. If you are here looking for something, I am very sorry to disappoint you, but I made fresh cookies! Come sit a spell.

I guess I'll do some more in-depth stuff about myself. My name is Nick and I am 35 years old living in Illinois. I am a therapist and clinical responder (which is a fancy way of saying I go out on police calls to provide mental health assistance). Been doing therapy for a few years now and I absolutely love it!

I am a gay, cisgender man. I came out in January 2020 (smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. Timing was always my downfall). There is still much I am learning, but I am proud and happy to be who I really am and not have to hide it anymore!

I am an avid gamer, especially roleplaying games (cue surprised and shock noises). I also enjoy writing and reading, especially mysteries. I am not new to roleplay, I promise. I have been doing it for years now in different formats. I am experienced, even if it doesn't seem like it.

I use humor as a coping mechanism for sure, but I also like laughing and enjoying myself. Life can be pretty sad and upsetting for the most part and I don't want to add to it.

Whew! That got deep!

I will be poking my nose around in spaces and hoping to jump headfirst into this. Some interests I have in terms of roleplay settings include superheroes, DnD, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, horror stuffs, apocolypse, and espionage. And I am a fan of most things pop culture. If you have any suggestions or possible roleplays you think I would love, please let me know.

Otherwise, stick around! This is gonna get wild!

Cameras continued to flash as reporter after reporter lobbed questions at him. Some were honest, looking for factual information on his platform and what he intends to do surrounding pressing issues in the state. Some were looking for statements they could take out of context and warp his message. Some were hoping to make him look like an idiot. He had wandered these waters before.

He pointed at another reporter. A woman with auburn hair and glasses. She looked presentable and serious. He hoped her question would be one he wouldn't have to walk a minefield to get through.

"Judy Bloomfield, New Mexico Today. What are your plans for handling Hyperion's Children?"

That was a name he heard more and more. At the start, they weren't worth much. He had tossed their name in as a way of stirring up voters, but now they were a full-blown threat. And they fueled hatred of hyperhumans. They were an easy target. Calliope flashed through his mind briefly before he answered. "They are a threat to our way of life. If they were peaceful I would say let them speak. But I believe they are nothing short of a terrorist group recruiting many hyperhumans to thair cause."

"And yet, you sent your daughter to a school within their reach?"

"I sent my daughter to a school where she would thrive and be looked after."

"The school that was formerly a military academy. Is that a message you want to send?"

"The school is one of the best in the world for working with hyperhumans. I only wish we had more options for them so they could be educated amongst their own and learn how to manage their....unique qualities so they can rejoin society."

"With all due respect Senator, those who lobbied for segregation most likely said the same thing."

The Homecoming Trials #1.02: This is the best we get?

Interaction(s): Cassander, Trace, Hayleigh, Katja, Lucille, Banjo, Trevor
Previously: I expect perfection.

It wasn't long before the bad boy's simple comment exploded into conversation amongst a few of the other students. Calliope glanced around and noted they all wore similar armbands like hers. This, by all accounts, was going to be the team she would be working with.

This was the best they got?

It wasn't like Calliope planned on forming lifelong bonds with the people. But she expected more than some douchebag commenting like he was on an all-male podcast that talked about women like objects, some British chick immediately calling someone a wanker, and some other girl in a wheelchair possibly having a panic attack.

Calliope rubbed her temples. She could feel the ebb of a headache coming on and this would not serve her well during these Homecoming Trials. Another boy spoke up, seemingly trying to cool everyone down or bring up some camaraderie. Calliope tried to stifle a chuckle, but couldn't hold it in. "Yeah everyone, let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya together!" The sarcasm underlying her words could cut someone, but she was getting fed up and she hadn't even gotten through the first day. This was not at all what she was expecting when she came here. But she would make do.

She had to make do.

One of the other guys there spoke to Banjo before walking off with the other students. Calliope took the time to follow suit. It would serve her well to get familiar with the campus. She left the other Blackjack armbands to sort themselves out. Who knows? Maybe they would gather themselves and prove to be a strong, reliable team.

Calliope would not hold her breath.

As she walked and looked around, she noted the different buildings, the planned architecture. The subtle message the school was trying to speak "We are just like other schools. Please, overlook our history!" Calliope was all too familiar with that back home. New Mexico wasn't one of the worst states, by far, though her father made sure they had their own issues.

She kept thinking back to her talk with Mr. Lehrer. There was something about him. It was a mixed bag. She felt like he was holding secrets back but also that she could trust him. Though she knew not to trust anyone here. Not yet. Trust was weakness masquerading as a strength. She would not be burned. Not again.

Calliope had walked for a bit she hadn't realized she came to a fountain with that guy from earlier standing in front of it. He looked like he was deep in thought. Against her better judgement, she walked over and looked at the fountain. "I guess it's nice to look at, but I wouldn't be caught dead having my likeness used as a roundabout way of saying 'look at me, I have money to burn in a world where people are dying on the streets'." Calliope closed her eyes after she said it. God, she could really be a bitch sometimes. "Sorry, we don't know each other and I may very well be insulting a person you like." She debated walking away before she swerved the other foot into her mouth. She needed to get back to a calmer headspace if she hoped to excel in whatever these trials were to bring.

Peregrine had already created a mental Rolodex of potential nicknames when Mira suggested not. "Fair enough. I'll speak to him and make sure he is aware of my ghost friend and we can devise a system to avoid confusion." Peregrine bit her lip a bit, unsure if this interaction was painting her in a good light. She had hoped to get to know the others quicker and see who gelled and who didn't. Mira seemed put-together, at least. If anything, Peregrine was the one royally fucking this up.

Thankfully Mira saved her and spoke about some of the missions the others had been on. All of it sounded fascinating. "Whatever you feel like sharing is fine with me! Honestly, I would love to hear it all, but I imagine each person has their own view on the missions and how they went. So whatever you feel comfortable sharing with me is fine!"

As the two of them walked over to the food court, they came across two more members. Peregrine tried to put names to faces. She knew one started with a C, but couldn't.....Cassidy? No it was like a movie. Caroline! That was it. And the blond girl was Annie. Okay, she could handle this! "Hey! I know we met already, but to formally introduce myself, my name is Peregrine. You can call me Perry if that is easier. Me and Mira were heading to the food court if you wanted to tag along? Otherwise, maybe we can meet up later?"

Peregrine was totally killing this friendship thing.
The crowd before him roared like thunder before a lightning strike. He had to admit to himself he felt like a lightning rod, there to take the full brunt of the oncoming storm. Senator Garcia de Leรณn looked through the curtains at the room full of reporters, concerned citizens, angry parents, scared populations with questions and pitchforks armed in equal measure. Garcia took a deep breath and then another one. Lupe Tillman, Garcia's advisor, knew that signal. "Sir, it will be all right. You know what questions to answer and which ones to redirect. You have your talking points. It's going to be all right."

Garcia chuckled half-heartedly. "Am I that easy to read?"

"When you have been working together for a few years, you pick up on each other's tics."

"I shouldn't be so easy to read. This is going to be a bloodbath."

"Sir, with all due respect, the nature of this is-"

Garcia held his hand up. "Tell me honestly Ms. Tillman, how would it look to you to see a representative of your home, one who has been very vocal about the hyperhuman issue, have a child who obliterated the town square in what can only be described as, and I am quoting the paper here, 'Christmas Gone Serial Killer'. Ice swept up everywhere, the fountain exploded, and snow on the ground in the middle of Summer. Then, have your child sent to Canada to some school for hyperhumans in a clear vain attempt to appease people's fears while also coming across as an asshole for essentially kicking your child out of your home. The very home that was on the cover of magazines with their family front and center, looking picturesque and who now dons the cover of the National Enquirer. Honestly, Ms. Tillman, would you vote for that person again?"

Lupe stood quiet, debating the answer, which she knew was the wrong thing to do. Garcia took that as an answer. "I am already kicking myself for what I was forced to do to my daughter. I already lost my son, I do not want my daughter to hate me too."

"With all due respect sir, I don't think she hates you."

"You didn't see the look in her eyes after I told her what I had to do. A father should comfort his child when she is scared. And here I am sending her away."

"Sir," Lupe started, "It is, by all accounts, a great school. She is smart and dedicated. She'll thrive there."

Garcia had wrestled with those very same points in his mind. "If this continues, I will be going to war against my own child. These people were scared of hyperhumans before the events in the town square, now they are even more concerned. What do I tell them?"

Lupe looked at her clipboard, filled with responses to various questions. She had no real answer for this. "Tell them the truth sir. You are scared and confused also. You clearly love your family and anyone in your shoes would see this as a tough decision. They'll back you up."

Garcia nodded. "I know. And that is what upsets me most of all."

Garcia moved the curtain aside and stepped out to the podium as questions were hurled at him. Flashing lights from cameras blinded him. He heard racial slurs mixed in with fear-dosed statements. He held his hands up to silence them but it only seemed to drive them wilder. He waited for a beat before slamming his hands on the podium in front of him, silencing the masses.

"You have questions and I can only hope I have the answers. We are in a crisis that does not seem to have an end in sight. Most of you are scared, worried, anxious, stressed. I sympathize. I understand. I also have concerns. Concerns that don't seem to be cared for by those in office. Hyperhumans are a threat. I said that before when I was first campaigning and many have asked if I still hold that to be true given recent events. I assure you, ladies and gentlemen, that I firmly believe hyperhumans are a threat. And I plan on tackling this threat head on."

"Now, do you know why I called you in to see you, Calliope?"

Calliope sat across from Jonas Lehrer after stepping foot inside his office. A young man had stepped out before her and Calliope gave him the once-over. He reeked of what she supposed he might have considered "Bad Boy Appeal". Calliope had seen it time and time again. As soon as he was out of eyesight she forgot he existed.

It was a survival instinct. Calliope knew she was a fish out of water here. That was odd considering the school was for hyperhumans like herself. But she knew she would be judged by others and that thrilled her. She wasn't here to make friends and form long-lasting connections to her peers. She was here for one purpose: to learn all she needed to and help change the world's view on hyperhumans. That already made her public enemy #1. Add on top of that her destruction of her hometown's city center, her father's view on hyperhumans as a whole, hell even her gender, her race, her sexual orientation, made her a target in many circles.

"I expect this isn't simply to get to know a promising new student so let's cut through the bull. Respectfully, Mr. Lehrer"

Jonas chuckled lightheartedly. "A breath of fresh air, Miss de Leรณn. I liked to get to know the new additions to my school and, as I told the last young man you briefly met on your way in, that question often tells me much about the student. I already have your file, Miss de Leรณn, so you and I both know why you are here. The youngest child of a U.S. Senator who grounded his platform on the rhetoric that hyperhumans were and are a continued threat. What is it with America and using perceived threats as stepping stones for power?"

Calliope let the question hang there because she knew no answer would be satisfactory for either of them.

He continued. "It was rhetorical. It's not like this country isn't without its issues. Be that as it may, this school is an environment where I hope to see the students thrive. Arm them with the tools necessary to achieve their goals."

"Arm them for war, you mean?"

"What do you mean?"

"I looked into this school before my father even considered sending me here. I know its history. It used to be a military academy correct? Just how much of that old history has been changed or has it just been altered, polished up, and painted with new colors?"

Jonas smiled. "A good question. And one I hope you find the answer to in your time here. We are done. Can you send the next one in on your way out?"

Calliope took a second to meet his eyes. She couldn't read them, not right away. She decided that could wait as she stood up and stepped out, allowing the next student to walk in. She couldn't help but feel like she just went through her first test here, even before classes started.

"It's basically ensuring the teacher you are assigned with has all of the tools they need. Copying, stapling, grading. If they ask for coffee, you get them coffee. This isn't like the movies where the teacher's aide helps change the lives of the students. You do the work quickly and efficiently. Understood?"

Calliope hadn't figured the job would be a cakewalk. Though she was still not thrilled at the prospect she would have to put in work to a school that, by all accounts, should be able to afford to hire the staff necessary to meet these needs. But Calliope bit her tongue. She nodded to the administrative woman in front of her.

"You should find out who you are helping soon as classes will begin quickly. Got to get through the Homecoming Trials first though. Big deal around here."

Calliope had learned all she could from the school, but she had to admit there was much she did not know. The Homecoming Trials was one such area with limited information. She understood the basics, of course. Word got around.

It was just one more hoop to jump through.

The opening ceremony was everything she expected. She stood for the national anthem of a country she didn't call home and listened as Mr. Lehrer droned on about the Homecoming Trials for the new students as Calliope scanned the crowd in front of her. Faces ranged from a mix of excitement to boredom. Soon they were let out to meet with their teams before the event. As she got up, she heard a voice call out asking about sacrificing. Calliope couldn't help but smile at the question. She looked to see where the voice came from and caught that it was the same guy she saw leaving the Chancellor's office before she went in. Mr. Bad Boy himself. Well, at least it tracked.

Perhaps this school would be entertaining after all.

Sabine honestly didn't expect that reaction.

She essentially called out April for being a weirdo and hiding her true feelings while also insulting Sabine and yet, the girl was falling over herself, apologizing profusely and denying that anything was wrong. It threw Sabine for a loop. Typically, this is the point where the other girl would fight back, call Sabine a bitch, or the usual mean girl fanfare. This was unexpected.

It intrigued Sabine.

Sabine did not know April well enough to know if the girl was telling the truth or not, but Sabine prided herself on her ability to read social cues and make her own estimated deductions. And she knew April was not "all right". Far from it. There was pressure underneath, but if April wasn't ready to talk about that with an almost total stranger, Sabine could not blame her.

After the girl rambled on for a bit, which was amusing and cute, Sabine decided to put her out of her misery. "It's okay. I was mad, but I am not anymore. Just...be more mindful later on. It's a touchy subject very few people are allowed to comment on, let alone joke about."

April checked her phone as Danny called out to them, attempting to put more stock into what this conversation was than needed (she would see Danny paid for that later), but April seemed panicked. Dorian, the birthday boy himself, was ready for them and if April's reaction was anything to go by, in trouble. It wouldn't surprise Sabine if Dorian possessed another person in an attempt to fix silly mistakes.

Sabine was prepared to follow when she heard a crackling sound, followed by a shark CRACK as the Dunk Tank exploded, sending water and shards out. Sabine instinctively held her arms up before it was deemed safe. "Holy...." was all she said as she looked at April, who was even more panicked. Coulson, though, appeared unharmed.

Taking matters into her own hands, literally, Sabine ran up to April. "He's fine, you're fine, everything is fine. Take some deep breaths and let's go see Dorian." Sabine grabbed April's hands, squeezing before leading the girl away from the dunk tanks and following Danny and Mai to Agatha's Tent.

Perry took two, no wait, three calming breaths before opening her trap again. "Sorry! Little nervous getting to know people. Trying to make friends has always been an issue, as I am sure you can imagine, so I tend to jump headfirst and overexplain myself. Ok, trying this again," Perry centered herself and smiled, "Hello, yes I am Peregrine. Please call me Perry. I am looking forward to getting to know you better and working with the team!"

At the mention of the other Ed, Perry glanced at the detective. He seemed unbothered by the conversation. "Well I can see how that may be confusing. I guess I'll just have to call the detective Edward. Oh! Or I can call the other Ed by a nickname. I'll have to get to know him first, of course."

Perry glanced around. She still wanted to get something, but if Mira already ate, was it rude to stuff her face as she watched? "We could do something else, if you want. I can eat later. Or maybe we can head over there and run into the others that came here? No. You know what? Let's head to the food court. I need that corn dog in my life." Perry turned and headed in the direction of the food court, hoping Mira followed. "So, what brought you to the team? Any cool mission stories to share?"

Sabine took a moment to bask in her peer's adoration at her excellent ball throw. She flexed as Danny and Mai poured more into her already overflowing ego. "Thank you, thank you. I didn't even try that hard, to be honest." Coulson sputtered a bit, the already-soaked headmaster seemed, at the very least, cool with being dunked on. It was all in good fun.

Riding this high, she wanted to move on to the fortune tent, but Danny insisted on waiting for Dorian. Fine, she could wait, and give the others a chance to sink Coulson. April provided her feedback but there was....discord. Her face showed praise but Sabine felt...off. Sabine didn't know the girl well enough to pick up any quirks, but something was up with her. Like there was something below the surface bubbling and until the lid was removed, it lingered. April went to go toss some trash away. "Thanks you two. Why don't one of you get ready to dunk the dude. I will be right back." With that said, she quickly followed April.

It always played in the back of her mind. Her powers were unique. Having the ability to manipulate memories and people's brains was cool, but not everyone thought so. She always worried people would think she was manipulating people to serve her interest. Had she done so before? Of course. Getting out of getting grounded. Getting out of a ticket. Skipping curfew. Extra candy. Harmless stuff. But she had never, NEVEr manipulated people she cared about unless she was given permission or it was a life-and-death scenario. The fact April would seemingly joke about it (and that's what was killing her. WAS it a joke?) irked Sabine in a way she could not describe. She saw herself liking April, but if she was going to go this route, Sabine didn't know if she could trust her.

April shot off a text and Sabine didn't want to bother her midway. After April texted, Sabine went over. "Hey! April you seem cool, but what the hell was that back there? That's not something I appreciate being joked about. I allow Danny and Mai to do so because I am cool with them but I don't know you that well. You don't have to tell me what's eating at you if you want, but I can tell there's something going on. And before you ask, no, I won't snoop in your mind to see your thoughts and find out. I'd rather you tell me, if you wanted."

Senator Garcia De Leรณn did not expect his youngest daughter to demonstrate hyperhuman abilities. To his public, he was the tough-as-nails senator that promised protection from the growing hyperhuman threat. Until this point, his family was seen as "perfect". Each member did their duty, ensuring they looked good whenever they were out, and abided by the rules set in place. Then Calliope's powers manifested. And the family that was rock solid suddenly experienced turmoil.

Try as he might, Senator Garcia had to accept the fact his daughter was hyperhuman. Calliope was forced into hiding, told to lie about her powers and expected to maintain the air of perfection they worked so hard to maintain. Calliope couldn't handle the pressure and, in an unexpected turn, demonstrated her powers in public, lending to an outcry of Garcia's supporters to call for him to step down. Senator Garcia decided to do one better. PCRU, a school dedicated to helping Hyperhumans control their abilities, seemed right up his alley. So Calliope was sent off to school and told to get it together or be out of the family.

Unbeknownst to him, Calliope had her own plans, and PCRU was the best place to do it.

Calliope has the power of Cryokinesis, or Ice Manipulation. This is done by using water molecules in the air around her, forming ice, and using it at her disposal. Calliope does not have the ability to generate ice from nowhere, however. Calliope can shape and form ice in various ways including ice shards, ice shields, ice walls, ice armor, etc. Calliope can use this both offensively and defensively. Calliope is able to maneuver ice almost telepathically, allowing her to move the ice formed at will. Calliope can apply freezing temperatures to objects and people, leading to potential ice damage and frostbite. Calliope, through her use of this power, does not get cold as easy as an average person, allowing her to withstand freezing temperatures. An extra bit of her power allows her to formulate snow, though this is less useful.

L I M I T A T I O N S || S U P P L Y

As mentioned, Calliope cannot just generate ice from out of nowhere. To be able to form and use ice, Calliope requires there to be water molecules in the air or an actual source of water. This can limit her power use and prevent her from using her powers.

W E A K N E S S E S || H E A T

Common knowledge dictates that the weakness of ice is fire. This is still true in Calliope's case. As her power requires there to be water molecules or actual water to be near, the hotter and more humid the environment is, the less likely she will be to form ice and control it. Fire melts ice and Calliope would not fair well against fire or any of its forms. She can essentially be rendered powerless in environments where there are no water molecules to be had.

Her powers, especially her ability to withstand colder temperatures, makes Calliope extremely sensitive to heat. As such, in hotter temperatures, Calliope can feel weak and may eventually pass out if not provided a cooler environment.

It would be one of two people. The most likely candidate is my older brother. Ever since I showed my powers and was "forced" to come to this university, he has been weirdly protective of me. He knows what our father is like so it is not so surprising. My brother has never shown a hatred towards hyperhumans despite the fact I know many of his friends have said some horrible things about them. The other person is my mother. She texts me a lot, asking how I am. She lets me know how dad is, despite me never asking.

A D I S H E V E L E D S T R A N G E R A P P R O A C H E S Y O U A S K I N G F O R H E L P, H O W D O Y O U R E S P O N D?

I am not so dumb that I would immediately trust a stranger. I am a young woman living in the United States, of course, I am going to have my guard up, powers or not. However, a person needs help and I will do my best to ensure they get the help they need. Depending on the situation, I may be able to apply some hands-on help or be able to contact the right people (police, EMTs, etc). Hopefully, this isn't one of those times where a young girl is kidnapped and human trafficked. I ensure I have protection outside of my powers, just in case.

A N I N T R U D E R A L A R M H A S B E E N S E T O F F O N C A M P U S, H O W D O Y O U R E A C T?

First, get my bearings. Depending on where I am on campus, there are certain places I should go. I imagine a school like this has plenty of security measures in place, not to mention the staff and students have literal superpowers, so I am not too worried. Though the alarm most likely means a threat of equal or greater power, meaning it is best if left to the staff to handle. I am not without means of self-defense. I would also ensure other students are safe and see they get to safety.

Calliope stands at 5'7'' tall and has a slender build with little muscle tone. Her blonde hair falls to her shoulders. She has Hazel eyes. Her skin tone leans more towards white despite being part Hispanic. When out of her PCRU uniform, Calliope tends to dress in what can be considered trendy and preppy clothing. She tends to dress in more feminine clothing choices and her color ranges from dark reds and blacks to pink and white. Calliope's nails are typically done but are not too long. She wears jewelry on occasion, usually a necklace, a ring, and earrings. Her right ear is pierced three times and her left is pierced twice. She has a tattoo of a snowflake on her left thigh, right below her hip.

It is easy for the average person to see Calliope and immediately think of her as a bitch. And there is some truth to that. Having a poor childhood can do that to a person. Calliope doesn't show her hand to most people. She can be tough and calculated and this can lead to people writing her off immediately. What people might not see is a heart that yearns to help those who need it, especially if they are hyperhuman. Calliope isn't afraid to stand up to those who seek to put others down and this can often lead her into trouble. Calliope has a hard time backing down and admitting she is wrong. Calliope can be friendly when she wants to be, but it takes her a bit to open up to people. Once she does, she ensures those who she calls friends know they have her in their corner.

Calliope has a way of reading people using their body movements and facial tics. While others can listen to what people say to determine motives, Calliope can see what a person is saying with their nonverbal voice. Is someone lying? Is someone angry or upset? One's body tends to give it away and Calliope, determined to be the best, has gained this insight, allowing her a leg up.

Having studied the criminal justice procedure, Calliope is able to look for information. A loose piece of paper, a fingerprint, a discarded piece of trash. All can hold valuable information. This will be handy or her career as a lawyer, showing determination in finding all the necessary pieces of information to build a case.

Calliope enjoys taking command of social situations. Having been the daughter of a prominent senator, she learned early on how to say the right thing at the right moment to get what you want. She also knows this will serve her well in her future goal of becoming a lawyer. Calliope excels at knowing what to do to get others on her side: whether it is promising a favor, twisting an arm, or applying her good looks and charm. Either way, getting into an argument or debate with her is best reconsidered.

Garcia De Leรณn was born in Tijuana, Mexico before his family moved to the United States and became American citizens. He experienced firsthand what it was like to be treated like an immigrant despite going through the process correctly. He heard every name in the book hurled at his family and he made it his mission to push himself to be the change needed. Eventually, he worked his way through government and was elected the Senator for New Mexico, partly due to his stance on hyperhumans. Despite his insistence on perfection, he loves his family and strives to ensure they are taken care of.โ–…

Alexandria was born into wealth and grew up expected to do great things. What her family had not counted on was her doing away with all that and falling for Garcia. Alexandria started her own business, selling custom beauty products and toiletries, and was happy to support her husband in his endeavors to get elected. What most do not know is that she is a Hyperhuman also. And ever since her daughter demonstrated abilities and was basically run out of the house to go to the academy, she has been feeling guilty ever since.โ–…

Leonardo is Calliope's older brother. He experienced first hand the drive his father had in ensuring the family was picturesque. He got out of there as soon as he was college age and did not look back. He got married during college and graduated, eventually starting a family. He rarely talks to his mother and father but still connects with his sister. It is unclear what his views on hyperhumans are, but he knows his sister is one and continues to interact with her.โ–…

Desiree came from a family who expected great things from her. Having been the first member of her family to go to college, she was expected to put her nose to the grindstone and graduate, becoming a doctor or lawyer or something else of status. What her family did not count on was her falling in love with Leonardo and getting married before she saw Senior year. Her family did not approve of the union, but Desiree, knowing very well what it was like to be judged without knowing the person, went through with it anyway. Now, she is a wife and mother and worked as a TV news anchor.โ–…

@Retired Sorry, I thought I posted on here. I am, unfortunately, not going to be pursuing this, though I wish you all the best <3

Peregrine Mayfield

Fit Of The Day

As Peregrine roamed the lanes of the mall, on her way to show Detective Ed the pure joy of the corn dog, she was interrupted midthought by a voice she recognized and a figure she had seen before. Peregrine glanced over the girl in front of her (in a totally not creepy way!). Mira. She had met the girl earlier, but they hadn't spoken much. She got the sense that Mira was quiet. Still, her energy was just...chef's kiss. Peregrine could tell they would get along well.

"Oh my goodness, I am so sorry! In my own little world here, literally! Ha ha, umm....yes, my name is Peregrine. You can call me Perry if you want. Or whatever. Call me anything you want. Not in a weird way though! I didn't mean it like that. Perry! Please, call me Perry." Detective Ed stifled a chuckle as Peregine made an idiot of herself. She took a calming deep breath before venturing onward into the unknown. "You're Mira right? It is nice to see you again. Sorry, we didn't get to talk much. Coming to the mansion was like a whirlwind of activity, I barely got to meet anyone."

Peregrine glanced around, wondering what to do next. She still wanted that corn dog. "Oh! You're probably wondering why I was talking to myself just then. I am not crazy I swear! I was talking to my ghost friend. I imagine that's not out of the realm of possibility for you considering the company you keep. He's right here. Name is Edward or Ed. I was just on my way to the food court to show him how American delicacies have advanced since he was alive. Would you like to join us? Me? I guess just me since you can't see him! Ha!"

Jesus Christ Peregine. Get a hold of yourself!
