Bio

Well now that I got the customary "post once" requirement out of the way....

HELLO

Welcome to my safe space. Well, about as safe as one space can be, I guess. If you are here looking for something, I am very sorry to disappoint you, but I made fresh cookies! Come sit a spell.

I guess I'll do some more in-depth stuff about myself. My name is Nick and I am 35 years old living in Illinois. I am a therapist and clinical responder (which is a fancy way of saying I go out on police calls to provide mental health assistance). Been doing therapy for a few years now and I absolutely love it!

I am a gay, cisgender man. I came out in January 2020 (smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. Timing was always my downfall). There is still much I am learning, but I am proud and happy to be who I really am and not have to hide it anymore!

I am an avid gamer, especially roleplaying games (cue surprised and shock noises). I also enjoy writing and reading, especially mysteries. I am not new to roleplay, I promise. I have been doing it for years now in different formats. I am experienced, even if it doesn't seem like it.

I use humor as a coping mechanism for sure, but I also like laughing and enjoying myself. Life can be pretty sad and upsetting for the most part and I don't want to add to it.

Whew! That got deep!

I will be poking my nose around in spaces and hoping to jump headfirst into this. Some interests I have in terms of roleplay settings include superheroes, DnD, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, horror stuffs, apocolypse, and espionage. And I am a fan of most things pop culture. If you have any suggestions or possible roleplays you think I would love, please let me know.

Otherwise, stick around! This is gonna get wild!

It all happened quickly. In one instance she was a spirit holding out for Dorian, waiting for the inevitable end and the next she was back in the gym with the others. Sabine checked herself out. She had her body back. She fought off the urge to run to Leah and April and take them in her arms and shower them with love.

No there was someone who needed her attention more.

Arcade stood there, cowering. It was pathetic. "Not so touch without your technology huh?" Sabine was in her villain era. She thought about all the ways she could make him suffer. Should she turn his brain into mush so he would need to be bedridden and eat his food through a straw? Should she set his mind on fire so it felt like it was burning and there was no way to put it out?

So many tantalizing options. Sabine strode forward, ready to unleash hell when Dorian stepped up. Sweet Dorian. She wanted to punch his stupid, sweet face. Hell, even Leah took a step back. That said something.

Though it seemed like the others either listened or wanted their own revenge and Sabine could hardly blame them. Once there was a break she stepped forward. "My turn."

Sabine closed her eyes and sent her consciousness into Arcade's, shifting through the neurons to get to her destination: Memories.

One such memory caught her attention. It was arcade as a young boy and, presumably, his father. Arcade's father held a belt in his hand, held high. As it was brought down Sabine could feel the ripple with each hit. This was where it changed for Arcade. Sabine didn't want to erase this. Trauma needed to be dealt with. Instead she altered Arcade's viewpoint of the memory. Rather than the shift to villainy, it would be a shift to good. To fight for others so no one felt like he did as a child.

Once satisfied, she exited and opened her eyes. "I can't stop anyone else from hurting him, but he's changed. We should allow him to show it."
The old man was true to his word as he led her directly to where she needed to go. It was just unfortunate that she arrived with the others, late.

Still, they made it. Perhaps their lateness could be made up for with whatever task Alandri had for them.

"So...who ended up winning the race?" Fleur wasn't sure if that was still a thing.

Fleur looked around at her companions, which was quite the eclectic mix of individuals. "So, shall we head inside and see what our task is? Oh I guess we should introduce each other since we hadn't yet and before we could most of you ran off. My name is Fleur. I am a fortune teller by trade. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Fleur dipped in a small curtsy, unsure if any of the others knew about polite greetings.

Her feet throbbed slightly. She definitely neede to rethink fashion over function in the future.
So I lied. Woke up feeling worse. Please do not wait for me. I will post when I can.

This was all a bit much. And Perry felt her regular 'can-do' spirit wasn't going to get them through this. Perry knew about the Phoenix Force, what mutant hadn't? She never knew the extent of it. And from the sounds of it, Mary was both in danger and a danger to others. If Lance is to be believed Mary had some alternate identity that was cause for concern.

She really wanted to be thrilled to be going to New Orleans but she knew hero work came before beignets and gumbo. "I'll admit I don't know much about the Phoenix and all the inner workings, but I keep hearing emotions in this conversation. That's something I do have experience in. Unsure how I can help but I'll do all I can."

The tension in the room was thick. Everyone was questioning or asking what to do. Would they be able to help Mary or was this a case of putting a mutant down for the greater good?
Fleur could tell the man was humoring her, which was fine. People at the end of their life believed little in what was in store for them, despite it being equally as important as a young child. After all, one could still do great works at an old age or prevent catastrophe if they knew they could.

As they walked, Fleur focused her mind and recalled her gifts. This was her area of expertise after all. "Ah yes, Lionhart. Known for being strong in the face of adversity and not backing down. Be wary, Mr. Kittyborough, I see some hurdles blocking your path to your next goal, however small it may be. Your fortitude will be questioned, but so long as you follow your guiding principle, you shall persevere."

Fleur was happy to read the good fortunes, it was the bad ones that left a weird taste in her mouth. Still, wasn't it better to know something bad was going to happen so you can prepare for it?

They reached a crossroads and the man looked at her expectantly. She gave him a warm smile, hoping this journey will be at an end soon.

It seemed the movies didn't always lie as the whole "is somebody here a doctor" bit proved true. The man was getting care which left her to see if she can make it home to avoid whatever the hell was going on in the city. Moving body bags and collapsing diner patrons. Perhaps it was a viral outbreak? Just her luck to be in a city where walking down the street put you nearby potentially thousands of people.

Before she could get up and move the doctorlooked at her, requesting more ice. Figures. Ask the two women nearby on a fetch quest. Verity fought an eye-roll, knowing it was going to help the man burning up. She stood up and faced Kali. "Shall we go fetch ice for our doctor friend here?" It was rhetorical and Verity waited for the girl to move. After all, Verity wasn't sure where one got ice in places like this.

Fleur gave a warm smile despite her insides churning. While grateful for the elderly man's help she could not help but feel she walked on to a bear trap and would maybe have to chew off her own foot if she hoped to live. The man seemed like a nice guy, but Fleur has had experiences with "nice guys" before.

"Oh thank you sir. I will gladly receive your aid. Perhaps I can read your fortune as favor?" Perhaps if she could control the conversation it would mean peaceful travel.

I am fine with the pacing, but I would not be opposed to extending it to 3 days if that makes it easier for people.
Shoulda stuck with Fleur y'all
