hi maxx uwu
Watching Robozuna again. I started it a long time ago but I honestly forgot about the show even being a thing, which is sad since the concept is honestly interesting to me. Robot "battle basketball" and rebel fighting against an oppressive ruler/country? Sounds cool enough. It even has Ali-A of all people voicing a character in it.

Also, personally some of the character designs remind me so, so much of the Teku from the old Hot Wheels Acceleracers, which is probably another reason why the show draws my interest. For instance:

Essentially, they have nearly the same color schemes. Blues, oranges, etc. Had I not grown up with the World Race/Acceleracers series + games as a kid, they could've probably passed off as a background Teku character.

@ the cuties discourse. Let's get back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Anyway, I keep being told that Avatar the Last Airbender is good but I'm starting to think I was lied to.

I tried getting into Avatar but ultimately I didn't really vibe with the writing. I love the aesthetic of the show, though. Elemental benders in an Asian setting is certainly cool.
I feel like Netflix makes some awesome cartoons. A lot of the cable networks these days just make really, really shitty cartoons. Looking at you, Cartoon Network. Some of my favorites in the last couple of years have been She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Carmen Sandiego, and The Dragon Prince. I've also been getting into Young Justice thanks to a couple of persistent RPers here and I really enjoy it!

Steven Universe was also really good seasons 2-4 (or 5?).

They've been doing pretty well for themselves, yeah. Kipo, Dragon Prince as you said, etc. The Jurassic World show is mostly solid, too, and it isn't as "kidified" as I would've thought it would be. I figured they would've 100% avoided mature themes (see: dinosaurs eating people, like in the films) but I was proven wrong.

Have some cartoon history news you might've missed yesterday.

I feel like I do better with animated movies, based on my attention span and very singable soundtracks xD I will have to check some of those out OwO The Owl House looks pritty.

The Owl House is decent (especially in regards to LGBT+ rep), but it definitely doesn't hide the issues that had been going on behind the scenes between the creator and Disney. You can easily tell where things were starting to be rushed in order to quickly wrap up the show. It'll be returning in March on the 19th with Amphibia, though, so that's at least some good news.

Also, if you're in the market for "singable soundtracks", I do suggest The Ghost and Molly McGee. I enjoyed it and all the songs in the show so far (plus there's some scenes later on the show I honestly never expected a cartoon, much less a Disney cartoon, to reference from).

Alright before I abandon this thread cause nobody knows what I'm talking about, I'd like to make an obligatory mention of Rick and Morty because I love that show. This season was an absolute fucking banger one.

I remember watching Star VS. the Forces of Evil and wondering why one of the characters sounded so familiar. Turns out it was Justin Rolland, who voices both Rick and Morty in the show. Man gets around it seems.
<3 mandatory Gravity Falls mention <3 #1 pick for feels an squeals uuuh lemme word it like; heartwarming moments and adorable excitement!

...

OwO it's another corn! Hallo! I could ask you the same questions! ...

Hello, from one corn to another.

I still need to watch Gravity Falls, to be honest. There's a couple Disney shows I've missed out on mainly owing to the fact that I was primarily a Cartoon Network kid growing up. It's on my watchlist, however, since I've been watching a good number of Disney shows lately. The Owl House, The Ghost and Molly McGee, Star VS. the Forces of Evil, etc.

The last cartoon I watched was the new South Park episode.

It's been better

Is this the 2nd Covid special or whatever? Or is it something else? I haven't kept up with anything South Park in a long, long time.

Looking through Off-Topic, I've noticed that the guild has had difficulty facilitating good, lengthy off-topic discussion (at least in the last year). Most threads tend to die out pretty fast, with little posts to boot. So, I got to thinking—what about a cartoon thread? There's always a video game or anime thread, but you really don't see cartoon discussion threads these days. And who knows? Maybe such a thread would be a hit enough to stick around for awhile and breathe some life into this section. There are certainly some great shows out there ripe for discussion, after all.

Without further ado, let's start this thread off with the perfect question: What was the last cartoon you've watched? Was it any fun/good/interesting?
S P I C Y

The only thing spicy here is my takes.
Hi; just making a quick introduction thread. I'll probably be lingering around casual/advanced or maybe even 1x1, so expect to see me there. Probably.
