"Too little, too late, Morgan. The first fights are being announced. Noel and I are gonna go scoop out this competition of ours. You can be come with us, but just know that we already voted you our stay-at-home-dad for this whole vacation." Brennan grinned impishly at the banker and finished his glass of milk with a flourish and a thunk."I wanted to leave a maid's apron on your bed, but Noel informed me that could be considered politically incorrect for a male homemaker. Sorry Supernanny."

His dark eyes locked onto the slowly milling crowd of students entering the Coliseum and narrowed; with his dark t-shirt, clothing, and restless gaze (sleep on the airship, as if) he looked like a particularly wary Nevermore from the balcony of BANK's suites. There was little he wanted more than to know which of them were fighters and which of them he would convince to cheer for him. He would give every one of them the time of their lives - but there was an important distinction between fondly picturing someone when you were with your lover and waking up in the middle of the night with no breath in your lungs and sweat beading on your skin at the thought of someone's laugh.

Brennan might have been born in Atlas and taught in Mistral, but where he really lived was with one foot in each extreme.

"If you're coming with us, make sure your fookin' toortle is locked up. Don't need that li'l bastard makin' hisself a nest outta my shirts - again. If you're stayin', tell Tarik to come and meet us when you see him." Brennan vaulted over one of the couches that bordered the suite's dining room and maneuvered around the coffee table on his way to the door. "Noel's too short to see over half the seats. Last thing I need is her bony arse diggin' into my back through the prelims just so she can watch the lightweights dig into each other."
Umeko-chan is moe.

isn't she though

I'd totally be down to run Education and Entertainment. This sounds fun.
Lauren Negasi

Wow, that was some thot shit.

Lauren blinked at her quasi-girlfriend's playful display incredulously and then shook her head, doing her best to clear the image from her mind for the moment. For the first time, she was grasping how difficult Ben's life must have become. The dying sounds of the Grimm that Desire had skewered brought BASL's new girl back to the forefront, and she noted with slight pleasure that the Grimm attempting to scale Ben's makeshift structure had thinned out. The rising odds brought a grin back to Lauren's face, and she ducked slightly as though preparing to line up on a fastball. With one enormous sweep of her axe, the boxer cleaved through four or five Scavengers who had scaled the wall at once.

When nothing instantly replaced them, Lauren knew they'd won. She felt her heart soar - and she could almost feel her Semblance begin to pump through her veins like hot blood.

"Mr. Lloyd!" she thundered, laughing to herself and stepping back from the Dust construct. "Tear down this wall!"
Angel Ferrara

Angel mulled that over for a second and then nodded. From the sounds of things, Cyare's partner liked to stay mobile - and after so long traveling with Kaia, that was easy to relate to. He hoped she hadn't gone wandering around. The note had been meant to encourage her to stay put, with the implication that anywhere that required a note to travel to was somewhere Kaia shouldn't try to follow. Too late, it occurred to Angel that maybe Kaia had gone after someone to read her the note...

Oops.

"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea."
Angel managed to stifle his growing sheepishness and smiled. "I'm in."

And thus the trap prepares to spring.

Angel's eyes lit up with the characteristic glee that came when he knew someone wanted a meal, but denied it anyway. Putting one hand in his pocket, he smiled at his feet and shrugged. Meal plans were coalescing in his head, courses forming within the cloudy, dreamy landscape of his mind. Externally, he shrugged, looked up, and smiled a little wider. In her usual attire, it was a little bit easier to avoid blushing at Cyare. A little bit.

"I'll go talk to Kaia. If you're still here when we decide on something, then we'll seeya around."
<Snipped quote by Plank Sinatra>

Cyare Staunton

"I suppose the very concept is something unique to humanity. Not exactly a concept the average monster would entertain. Could be a significant disadvantage against another mage, however." The Tactical Mage took this new information in stride, adding and readjusting her perceptions of the other mage as well as his companion. Try though she might, a blind mage being combat-capable was a difficult concept to process. More than likely her chosen magic had some kind of sensory input, something she could use to compensate, but that was still a glaring vulnerability. What if she fought a user of Tactical Magic, like Cyare herself? Knight Form would put her out of commission in an instant. ... Still, it was not her business. Nor was she likely to fight such a mage. "Like I said, most of the combat jobs were gone yesterday. I wish you luck, but I have doubts that any remain."

"I will have to locate my... associate... before I go." She frowned slightly as she secured the robe tightly about her, tucking her sheathed blade under one arm. A thought occurred, but she wasn't sure if it was one she wished to follow through on. But it might be advantageous... And there were not likely to be many jobs left for them given how many mages were in the city. "If you cannot find one, see if I or my associate, Rei, are still on the premises. An additional couple of pairs of hands would not be a disadvantage, I suppose."

Angel Ferrara

"Huh."
Angel thought that over for a second, twirling a lock of blonde hair around his finger, and then smiled gratefully. "I might just do that. Thanks, Cyare."

The mage adjusted his clothing over his slender frame and managed to keep his grin somewhat steady at Cyare - though he still rubbed the back of his neck somewhat sheepishly at her, and there was the faintest hint of a blush left on his cheeks.

"I'll fill Kaia in. Hey, if you want to roll the dice on us meeting up again...maybe skip out on the inn's complimentary breakfast? Chances are I could cook up something better if you gave me twenty minutes. Never hurts to feel satisfied going into a contract."

The blush threatened to return along with the offer.
oh, roman, my sweet, sweet, snarky prince

you were safer in prison
Lauren Negasi

"Make us a quarter pipe out of the Dust,"
Lauren offered, bending over, beckoning, and tapping her left cheek tauntingly at the Scavengers. "Give ourselves a little protection, let 'em slip over each other trying to scale it. When they start standing on each other's shoulders like they're in a zombie movie, and they start scrambling over, we clear the fuckers out row by row."

Flicking her axe down to casually bat away a Scavenger's tool, Lauren took advantage of the Grimm's poor balance and punted it into the swarm, where it was swallowed up by the black mass held at bay by her captain and her stripper.

"Work smart, not hard, Cap~!"
