Angel Ferrara

He nearly hugged her.

He was in the process of one. His face had softened past even the point of his usual gentle androgyny, and his right arm was raised to slip around Cyare's shoulders if need be. But then his arm crooked over again to fix his own wet hair, playing off the motion. Like it'd never happened.

One of the first things he had learned from the world is that people don't want hugs as much as you might think. And that sadness, when someone presents a target by getting too close, can lash out as something else entirely. Then it just went back and forth and...

...

Angel wanted to say something to Cyare about that, apologize back to her for shying away from her so much.

But it would take too long to explain.

"You're okay. You couldn't have known, honest. No sweat, okay?"
"Oh, I see."

It was hard to tell whether Kimiko was speaking in reference to Daisuke or Jin, who had appeared like a whirlwind before Saitou had even been able to form an effective reply. She waved at them as they began quizzing Miyamoto on a potential future selling Kimiko potato-based sides to snack on for dinner, but had disappeared before the girl could effectively whip up a sales pitch for why this future was beneficial for all parties. Jin's in-and-out time was small enough that Kimiko could effectively fit the entire conversation within her wave, and she stood there for a second after they were gone. Just waving.

"That's okay, Daisuke-kun. I like your french fries best."

She spoke with an understanding smile and nodded her head gently. He always gave Kimiko more fries than anyone else who worked his shifts.

To be fair, they would all give her four orders, as ordered. But Daisuke's handfuls were the biggest, and he would sometimes smile wryly at her when she thanked him. It was quality customer service.

"I suppose I'll settle for ordering a burger tonight."

Lauren wasn't sure whether it was a commendation of her quick thinking around the survivors or Ben's way of keeping her out of danger. Cap had to know she was the best on the team at that kind of range, and her Semblance practically eschewed Grimm attraction. What was Desire going to be able to do with Unchained Fury, short of lasso any wounded, delirious survivors around?

She took a deep breath and smiled at the man she'd been tending to.

Made sense, tactically. Leaving Amy and Sangue together with the survivors would leave them both looking to the other for direction. Lauren provided a good commanding presence; she practically spoke for Ben whenever he wasn't around, and sometimes when he was. The two halves of the team could keep each other on lock.

Didn't mean she had to love the hell out of it. But she could let it roll off her shoulders.

"Take care, babe."
I would suggest a suspension of the awards during missions, when everyone has their own shit to focus on, but during the casual portions of the game it doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.
Keeping up with the other characters in a game where they're all in the same classes is usually a good idea

"I've never had anyone else. Dad died when I was six,"
the pretty boy said quietly. "Rest of my life, it was the monsters and me."

Not that there was anything wrong with forest living. It had taught him a degree of self-reliance and improvisation on his feet that he would have never gotten growing up in a place like Fiore. It had taught him what was worth attaching yourself to and what was worth letting go. It had taught him how useless it was to cry over things like cold in the middle of the night, and how to grit your teeth and bear it without screaming after the sixth or seventh time in your life you find yourself being mauled in the same fashion.

But there were things every child knew that Angel would never, ever discover. And even after five years removed from Boundary Forest, people like Cyare constantly made him realize how little he belonged outside of it.

"She bears with me a lot."

"Hello, Miyamoto-kun."

Saitou had been sitting diligently in the third row of desks, working away on a few math problems at a time before allowing herself a minute to stare at the backs of her eyelids. This subtle recharging effort proved beneficial in order to stave off a longer nap - and, with it, potential drool stains on a piece of classwork.

She had just put the last such debacle behind her.

As the bell rang, she had bitten back a lazy yawn; the suppressed, weary bellow instead caused her large amber eyes to tear up. The student blinked them out of the way and collected her books under her left arm, bumping into her "plug," as Tomoda referred to him, on her way out. She turned inquisitively to face him. When her still-teary eyes had passed confirmation to her brain that the pugilistic youth was indeed who they thought she was, she nodded in greeting.

"I look forward to you selling me fries this evening."
Name: Saitou Kimiko
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Arcana: The Empress
Equipment: Though Kimiko can rarely be found without a pack of bubblegum at her disposal, bubblegum is not an effective tool in combat. Nothing she carries, in fact, could be considered weaponry - save for perhaps a pair of drumsticks that would, again, prove inefficient.
Skills: A talented musician (drums) and, by extension, drumstick twirler. A trivia nerd through and through. Though lacking in physical combat skills or training herself, she's got a mean sucker punch or quick genital annihilation strike if jumped. She's also very observant, as you'd expect from someone who grew up in her household. Very difficult to lie to.
Appearance:

A girl of gracile build who stands at 1.65 meters, Kimiko's attractive looks are tempered either by the ruffled look of her uniform or her plain fashion stylings when lounging around the house or shopping. Despite her good posture and ready, polite smile, her lax demeanor and "ayy fam just toss yourself on my body, clothing" sense of dress makes her look more scruffy-cute than a bombshell.
Personality: Saitou Kimiko could aptly be described as quiet, dreamy, and perhaps even aloof. While not completely inaccurate on the last count, this sense of detachment from those around her is more due to inquisitive glares and contemplative silences, broken only by the most left-field of questions. ("You're hungry too, right?" is a personal favorite of hers.) Despite her bizarre colloquialisms, those who can focus her find her to be a gifted conversationalist and tireless listener. She does her best to be helpful and attentive to the needs of others, but observes so much so often that she will sometimes lose track of her current goal, and must be kept from going wayward by her friends. Given her silences and finely honed skill of reading people, she doesn't have much of a tolerance for dishonesty, but will let most white lies slide unless they hurt those close to her.
Biography: Kimiko was raised to be open-minded - raised by a pair of small-town private detectives and raised up in a lifestyle that could be considered middle-class by a slight stretch of the imagination, her foster family's entire lifestyle depended on the uncanny ability to resist drawing their own conclusions and follow whatever zany conclusion a case's evidence could lead them to. This insight was instilled into Kimiko as she grew older and began attending school. By the time she had grown old enough to attend high school, her personality had been permanently cast in a state of quiet, quirky stasis. For her American mother, a quiet woman herself, this was perfectly natural - and indeed, preferred. Her partner, a more rambunctious sort, the idea of breaking Kimiko out of the shell they had accidentally created for her was an appealing one.

So four years ago, they moved into a homey, quiet little part of Shikatsu, where Saitou Kimiko had all she ever really needed - people to watch, a McDonald's to stop by after classes, and a school to attend. She made a small smattering of friends that she loosely keeps in touch with before her parents helped her arrange to attend Uchima Senior High.

Which had an even better McDonald's nearby. And more friends.

These are positive changes.

Yeah, I know. But I've been working on this profile since Sunday and I figured I'd rather just double up than have to start from scratch
Angel Ferrara: Pretty / Screwed

"It's been known to happen. I mean, she never really acts like it bothers her, and we kind of agree to live and let die after a few minutes of teasing,"
he admitted. "Still kinda hard not to feel bad when your friend nearly walks off a balcony while you're off whipping up waffles."

Would it really even bother her, though...? She IS the movement queen...

It was wrong to be so tempted to try it.

And he knew it was wrong.

...Heh.

"Buuuuuuut traveling the length of two countries with someone gives you a pretty high tolerance for 'em. And a pretty good idea of how they think."
