Character Sheet

Name: What your name is, OR what you want people to call you. If you want people to call you “Raven” because saying that your name is Raymond would attract unwanted attention, then feel free to write “Raven” here. And remember, in Fire Emblem there are no last names.
Appearance: How you look like according to someone seeing you for the first time. Fire Emblem is anime-inspired, so I do not mind at all if you use an image. I mean, I have painstakingly searched for an image for every single named NPC I’ve created so far (except Rioga, because one or more of you might be creating his children (Grado Lords), I don’t want his hair and eye color to be set due to your freedom), so I would like if you could do the same, but you don’t have to, really…
Apparent Age: … Yeah, in case of Manaketes, they don’t need to write their age. Just remember that humans aren’t very good at appearing any other age than their real age.
Gender: Male or female. … If you’re hiding your gender by whatever reason, you can write the gender you’re trying to be here. Unless it is obvious, in which case I’ll deny it.
Nation: The nation which you consider home. If you’re originally from one nation but grew up in another and consider that other home, write that as well. If you’d like to keep it secret, feel free.
Class: The class which you trained to become a part of. Use the class-chart to determine where you want to be. Any complaints or suggestions should be routed directly to me.
Weapon Mastery: Using the skill chart, inform us how good you are with the weapons your class allow you to wield. Don’t even try wielding something that isn’t on it, you’ll hurt yourself.
Level: To give us a sense of how strong you really are. Weapon Mastery does this to a degree, but this is another one. So, 1-20? 1-10 in case of Trainee… And any pre-promoted has to pick 1. Fire Emblem tradition. Since we do not have experience, you will go up a level when I say you do. … But I will be factoring in your performance, so stealing EXP is still extremely possible.
Background: If you want to, write your background into the character sheet here. If you don’t want to, simply write “secret!” here and send me the backstory for approval instead. Feel free to leave loose ends of story which I can abuse later as the GM to strike right back at you with. Possibly using characters mentioned in it. Tihi.
Equipment and Items: Things you start with. Will probably be changed over time, feel free to make edit here when it happens. Don’t go overboard, normal people don’t carry five axes. And a peasant probably doesn’t have a Silver Sword. Just saying.

You will be starting inside Castle Grado, the map being your escaping from it. From there, your first mission will be to escape with the Fire Emblem. Do keep in mind how you wish to become part of the company, if either commanded to follow by Emperor Rioga, if you’re part of the attacking Jehannan force intending to jump ship, or if you’re a friend who overheard the mission and resolves to come along… Something like that. I would be happy if you could all become part of the team in that first flight, though, so nobody has to wait until Chapter 1 before they can play. And of course… You’re all to be suitably weak for being at the very start of a Fire Emblem game. Got it~?

About items.

Picking Class
Now a couple of rules. You may start as either a Trainee or a regular class, depending on what you feel like. By Fire Emblem tradition, if someone by for some reason someone wants to make one I will only allow a single pre-promoted class to begin with, and that one will most likely be frowned on and kept in the back to not steal the other’s EXP. [/joke]. As for lords, I will only allow one or two. If two, then you got to be either siblings or come with a dang good explanation for why a prince/ss of a nation other than Grado is currently travelling with the defenders of the Sacred Stone. Remember, politics wouldn’t like that, and you know what bad guys do to nations that cooperate with their enemies. I have, though, left all leaders of nations child-less for this very reason, and only the newly crowned leader of Rausten, Edan, is too young to have a child yet. I can also allow one Manakete if someone wants to make one, but I put a bit of a limit on those, consider that before deciding. The Manakete will not be with the group at the start, and will need to get some special information from me before appearing in the actual game. Because… Manakete. They're essentially cheating.

Classes. Warning: lots.

The idea is that you each take control of a character, and then I provide you a field to play on.

Like this.
I can move and have fun with the beings on the map on my side with relative ease, I have the layered maps. You then come up with the tactics and tell me how you move your characters, and I can of course inform of any special events or conversations which takes place around you. Meanwhile the world will of course be filled with typical Fire Emblem recruitment scenarios and plot as you continue through the game. There won't as many Fire Emblem stats, fighting will be determined by us roleplaying, but the character sheets will give the information needed to proceed.

You will only be playing one character each, but your NPC allies will be following your orders, and fun Fire Emblem things can happen as long as we agree on the things and obviously gather more troops and run into scenarios which I prepare for you. I won't be against players creating additional characters that we'll meet as we go along, either, but I believe I will hold main responsibility for creating and playing those. I want it to feel like playing a Fire Emblem game.

If there are any questions or suggestions of change to make this better then please, go ahead.
This RP is full and is not accepting more players unless you've been specifically told otherwise.

In an age long past... evil flooded over the land. Creatures awash in the dark tide ran wild, pushing mankind to the brink of annihilation. In its despair, mankind appealed to the heavens, and from a Blinding Light came hope.

The Sacred Stone.

This glorious treasure held the power to dispel evil. The hero Grado and his warriors used the Sacred Stone to combat evil’s darkness. They defeated the Demon King and sealed his soul away within the stone, which started to glow with a demonic fire which made the stone come to be called the Fire Emblem. With the darkness imprisoned, peace returned to Magvel.

But this peace would not last…

For some 800 years, a quiet peace has reigned in the absence of the terrible darkness. The Sacred Stone has been passed from generation to generation under the command of the Five Heroes. Each of the Five Heroes had a nation built around their power and their legacy.

The Kingdom of Renais, which today is ruled by Ginnava, the noble Paladin Queen.
The Kingdom of Frelia, which today is ruled by Kennard, the prudent Sky King.
The Kingdom of Jehanna, which today is ruled by Sion, the King of Red Sands.
The Theocracy of Rausten, which today is ruled by Edan, the Celestial Emperor.
The Grado Empire, which today is ruled by Rioga, the respected Court Emperor.

These five countries house the powers of the five heroes. They are joined by the emerging mercantile Republic of Carcino. In times of peace, tales of the past conflict has drifted into legend, and memories of the ancient dark arts, or how the Sacred Stone came to be, has all but evaporated. The stone now rests safely in Castle Grado, where it has been deemed the safest.

The year 808 a huge earthquake shatters the nation of Grado. The natural disaster left the grandest nation reeling in its wake, with the other nations sending the support it could. The Emperor and the Sacred Stone was safe, but much of the nation needed assistance. The king and the other nations provided what they could, but a new disaster was affecting all of Magvel…

Ancient fiends, monsters, dark creatures. They came from nowhere, and appeared in all nations at once. Their strength was weak compared to that of human military, but it was a fact that the people was no longer safe, ever since the earthquake that shook Grado. Grado itself took the worst blow, with little military to spare after the disaster, they had to depend on the troops of others to survive.

Three hundred years passed. No solution to the monsters was found, but they were manageable in numbers. No town now went without protection, the people have been forced to accept the threats around the world. However, the people have grown tired of constantly fearing for their lives. They seek something to blame, something to end it all, and a report from Rausten gave them one…

A paper from an esteemed Bishop in Rausten said destroying the Sacred Stone containing the Demon Lord, the Fire Emblem, would vanquish the enemy. The dark researchers of Grado knew the idiocy of this and defended, but the idea had been instilled into the people. The already damaged Grado took critical blame from all corners of Magvel, and it was clear that a change would soon take place.

However, nobody could have predicted just how such a change would take place.

It is now the year 1106…

The Kingdom of Jehanna, flourishing from mercenary business all over Magvel due to monsters, invaded the Grado Empire. King Sion acted on the papers of Rausten, in order to destroy the Sacred Stone to end the monster threat. With their military still recovering and with Jehanna’s mercenaries spread across key locations of the nation to support against monsters, Grado stood little chance.

Emperor Rioga cannot answer Sion’s demands to hand over the Fire Emblem, as its destruction would free the Demon King. At the same time, he cannot face Jehanna’s troops. He has no choice but to use all his strength do defend nothing while a smaller unit (you guys) attempts taking the stone out of Grado, towards safety. But he cannot hold them forever. Grado will fall… It is inevitable.
No problem. Take it any speed you need to.

How's it going for everyone~?
When I write posts, I naturally find the desire to react to absolutely everything the others write, detail my character's emotions and thoughts about what is happening in addition to any uncontrollable little movements in his or her body in reaction to the things around before finally going into depth about what my own character does afterwards, with any whims and/or dramatic sense of mine perhaps dragging things out towards the end. This automatically somehow makes it so that I end up writing at a level that makes it so I'd really be acceptable in both Casual and Advanced. I've found that, oddly enough, there isn't much difference between my posts in the two sections. Still, my posts get naturally longer when I have to react to more stuff, so by the laws of cause and consequence my posts in Advanced can get longer. I don't feel that I am properly in character if I don't write at least two to three paragraphs. I honestly don't understand how one-liners work. I also could never possibly post every day, my life simply wouldn't accept it. Haha.
... Working title. I came up with it seconds ago because I wanted to post this. You know, ignore the above. "Solemn" is such a dreary word. I need a new name. Dunno what. This takes place after the events of Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. If you do not wish to know how the game ends, or at least what impact the events of the game might have on a potential future after it, I recommend leaving this thread immediately. Actually, I've decided I think I'll scrap the "after Sacred Stones" part of the story. I'll just make it based in an alternative Magvel instead. I've had this idea for a Fire Emblem roleplay for a while. Either Casual or Advanced, I have not decided yet. I may have trouble keeping up with Casual speed, at least of you intend me to post once a day. I'm the GM, my posts will not be short. The idea, in any case, is that you each take control of a character, and then I provide you a field to play on. Like this.

Meanwhile the world will of course be filled with typical Fire Emblem recruitment scenarios and plot as you continue through the game. There won't as many Fire Emblem stats, fighting will be determined by us roleplaying, but the character sheets will come with some high-lights. Here's the work in progress, by the way. If you're allergic to large amounts of text, you don't need to open any of the further hiders within the hiders. You can just ignore all further hiders and focus on me. I just thought it would be a waste not to include it.
I think I'd prefer the group to remain rather small. Too many and this format will become difficult to handle. But of course, your allies will be following your orders, and fun Fire Emblem things can happen as long as we agree on the things. I won't be against players creating additional characters that we'll meet as we go along, either, but I believe I will hold main responsibility for playing those. Players playing more than their one character feels odd to me. In any case, yeah. I believe this format is the one which could potentially be the one which gets closest to actually recreating the feeling of being in the world of Fire Emblem within a roleplay. So, what do you think? And...
... What does your Fire Emblem instincts think? Sorry, I went out of control there, I was so happy to have all the sprites ready. Ti-hi. Feedback, comments, other things would be nice. But please don't go off creating characters already, I am still hesitating. I'd like to see what kind of response I get first. ... So, what kind of response do I get?
In High School there was a Pokémon event. At the event, there was a guy who prepared a Pokémon roleplay. I participated, and the GM noted how exceptionally enthusiastic I was. Due to this, he invited me into his roleplaying group. We've been best of friends ever since, and I have roleplayed ever since. I came here by googling Roleplaying because my appetite for roleplay had been awakened and could not be sated. I trust any member of this site can find themselves understanding of this thirst which draws us together. Haha.
So, um, should I post?
Oh, dear, Twistedgrin, that sounds horrible... I wish you luck in overcoming your trials. Eh? Post again? ... But, I already wrote my second post, except it is supposed to be about after we're briefed... ... ... Eh, suppose I could write a one-and-a-halfth post. Wonder what I should do in it... ... So, when do we start posting our characters to the new character tab? I was thinking something along the lines of "After you, GM". XD
Teknonick said Oh, hey!

Minaka Tayumu would have turned into Minaki Taiyo! That would be funny. lol

... ... ... ... ...

*googles Minaki Taiyo* *finds Star Wars profile as 17 year old Jedi Padawan on a Minecraft forum under your username*

Er. Um. Yeah. I'm sure it would have been, but I kind of have a hard time seeing that happen, seeing how one is a female creature of flame and deceit hiding on planet Earth with no family and the other is a underwater dweller with a huge family and he's training to become a Star Wars Jedi for said family...

Edit: ... *snicker* Though, this response obviously meant you actually read what I had written. Thank you very much for that. Haha.
The RPGN 12.19.14 (Special Announcement) had a question in it.

RPGN said How would your character react and do if they were to wake up one morning as the opposite sex with no given explanation? How would a situation like that play out?

For fun, I wrote about all my characters ever there. Here is what I wrote for Kazeko. The first is a short introduction that may vary in correctness so the reader could understand who she is without going here.

PlatinumSkink said
Shizukana Kazeko is a young girl who lost her legs and proceeded to become the lazy. Then the wheel-chair bound girl was recruited as a Magitech girl by SEED and got mechanized legs as well as weapons to combat threats of humanity with. Pretty much became a magical girl.
- … Well, to start with, Kazeko would no longer be able to be a Magitech girl having become a boy. Since she was no longer any use, the male Kazeko would assume that their enemies had invented a new weapon which transformed Magitech girls to boys, effectively neutralizing them, and he would turn his time and effort into becoming a researcher to invent a countermeasure against this horrible weapon… I’m just kidding, she’s too lazy for that. He’d most likely be sent home to the orphanage she worked at again, where he’d show up being like “Hi, I’m a boy now, treat me like usually”. And then the orphanage would press charges against SEED because “You turned Kazeko into a boy against her will!” and SEED’s like “We, uh, did not.” and then they lost the lawsuit and became financially bankrupt with low public opinion because immoral experimenting on children, making girls into child-soldiers and so, the girls were sent back to their families and the people at SEED were jailed for crimes against humanity and then the world was taken over by evil since SEED couldn’t stop them anymore due to that… um… … … Maybe not. … He’d probably just stick around, somewhat confused, at SEED while the other girls fought and he just welcomed them back and wondered why he was a boy. … Oh, and he’d inevitably fall in love with one of the girls, but that’s another matter altogether. Haha.

Just for fun.

Edit: Also... the list of accepted characters isn't updated, is it? XD
