Pokémon: One (~Looking for one player and a Co-GM!~)

So, um. Can I have my berries that I prepared for the journey or should I delete that line? If so, how many can I have? I'd totally like to have 6 Orans and then 4 for each common status effect and 2 for each uncommon, just in case, but... Haha.

Also, should I colour my dialog? ... Would probably go for pale yellow if I did, but, heh.

Edit: ... Huh, people are opening their post with giant headers telling what character it is. Hm. Oh, well.

Rowan had woken early today. Of course, it's the day when he'd be given a Pokémon and would be allowed to adventure far beyond the world of just small but large Dewmeadow. It contained so much space, it practically contained all which a child could normally desire out of the world. And yet, Rowan would be experiencing a much, much greater world.

His parents had already prepared breakfast for him and his bag stood ready by the door. Oh, they didn't have to, but of course they had to. They're his parents. The two of them, while worried about the rumours about attacks on young trainers, were proud of their son and would not stand in the way of him trying to accomplish his goal in life. Hugs were shared, “I love you”s were spoken, and Rowan was soon on the way.

Ah. He almost got teary-eyed as he ran through town and waved at faces he knew which he wouldn't see in a while. No matter. THIS WOULD BE GLORIOUS!

Rowan arrived an hour early. He'd woken up way too early with way too much excitement and had arrived way ahead of time. Still, weather they were here when he arrived or weather they arrived after, Rowan would still smile happily at them.

'Hi, Mara!' Unless there were, like, no boys his own age or if Mara approached him, Rowan likely wouldn't have made a close friend of Mara, but they did know each other in this community and such. And today, they'd be becoming Pokémon trainers together. In Rowan's eyes, they were already AS CLOSELY KNIT AS THEORETICALLY POSSIBLE due to this! 'Let's do our best!' His eyes were shining as he said to her. He didn't particularly note if her eyes were avoiding him.

'…' The other boy... Rowan didn't recognize him. He felt a little shy about addressing him, but this was such an important moment in their lives, no way he'd just let it pass without contact.

'H-hi, I'm Rowan.' He'd say, holding out an hand to shake. 'Well, um. Good luck to us all, eh?' Rowan smiled widely, his excitement and happiness still shining through his shyness. And yes, Mara's question was relevant. Rowan would be listening attentively.

Physical Appearance:

130 cm, 13 years old.

Sex: Male.

Personality: Positively shiny. Always positive and sure to try to be a saviour in need should the situation require it. He's relatively intelligent, but has yet to experience actual darkness should any such appear. He's a little shy around people, and may end up being the awkward one in a conversation, but his love for what he does is obvious. And he's of course quite obsessed with Pokémon shaped like felines.

Of course, he has no idea how much his own and his future Pokémon's personality will clash.

Starter Town: Dewmeadow

Biography: Rowan is just your average kid with strangely long blonde hair that grew up in Dewmeadow. Growing up with average parents that both work as gardeners for the meadow, he played with an average group of friends and eventually got old enough to grow interested in Pokémon. How could he not? They're everywhere! They're so fun! While he helped his parents with the garden, his friends were always running around with him seeking Pokémon and the like.

… And then there was that one time he came eye to eye with a Purrloin. She absolutely charmed him. Nevermind that she stole his entire lunch, THIS CREATURE IS ADORABLE! Sure, all other kinds of Pokémon are alright, BUT THIS THING! … Ever since that happened, Rowan has been BEGGING his parents and the nearby professor for one of those to be the Pokémon he was given. And, given his innocent desire and love for the creature (and those shining eyes which Rowan was begging with), why the heck not...?

Oh, if Rowan only knew what would happen when he finally got his Pokémon...

Favored type: CAT! … What, that's not a type? In that case, Dark! … Because they're all sneaky and cool and such! (Nevermind that the trainer is the opposite of dark.)

Favorite Pokémon: PURRLOIN! … And cat-Pokémon in general!

This doesn't mean Rowan won't catch other kinds of Pokémon. In case of necessity, he'll capture Pokémon that he finds cool enough to fulfil his requirements and can even become part of the team. But, he will prioritize animal Pokémon, and even beyond them he'll want cat-Pokémon. Haha.

Why are you joining the Pokémon League? … What, isn't everyone? It's just, like, natural for Rowan that at this age a young boy will attempt to become a Pokémon Master!

Miscellaneous: Because of his being raised by gardeners, Rowan knows everything there is to know about berries and regularly will be carrying a whole bunch of them in different types in his bag and will commonly be planting them and coming back when they should be about ready. Yepp.

Physical Appearance:

She's going to be wearing a red little scarf that Rowan put on her. He really likes red. Otherwise, typical Purrloin. 0.39 meters, 10 kilos.

Sex: Female

Personality/Mood: As any Purrloin, she shows a sweet, charming personality, but this is a ruse. She typically displays herself as a most graceful and loving creature, but if something annoys her or she becomes damaged in a fight then one heck of a violent temper might present itself. She can be very claw-happy in a bad mood. Also, she may act in a randomly clearly evil fashion that does not really qualify as sweet if she feels herself entitled to it. But, she'll always be right back in sweet cat mode when it suits her. Yupp.

Nature: Naughty (+Attack, -Special Defense)

Likes: Food, toys, technology, things extremely precious to other people, being treated like a god, posing for images, people stroking her ego, etc... Spicy things.

Dislikes: Losing. People stealing from her. Being looked down on. Bitter things.

Starting Moves: Scratch, Growl.

Ability: Unburden. Gives a speed boost if Purrloin loses a held item. Held item breaks if dropped.

Miscellaneous: May or may not have stolen her own Pokéball at times to prevent Rowan from being able to put her into it. Well, he's totally happy to have all his Pokémon out at times, but Purrloin might have stolen it whenever she doesn't want to be in a ball and he does. And, she needs no explanation for when she stole the ball. It just happens, she doesn't want to be in the ball, the ball has been stolen. Yupp.

1) You happen upon an injured Rattata in the middle of the path in front of you. You hear a sudden rustling from the large bushes on the path’s edge. Whatever is causing this noise has yet to reveal itself. What do you do?

2) An enormous Snorlax has wedged itself between the railings of a bridge over a raging river. It seems to be a long way’s journey to venture around the living water. Your destination is across the bridge. What do you do?

3) You awaken in the middle of the night to find a Hoothoot rummaging through your pack and taking your food. Before you act, you notice two smaller, faint outlines on the horizon of the dying campfire light. The Hoothoot begins hopping towards her children with your food in tow. What do you do?

Awwwwww. It's feeding its children. Alright, I've been defeated this time. I'll let you go with just a- Purrloin, what are you doing? … PURRLOIN!? STOP FURY SWIPING THEM!

4) You are walking with your Pokémon through thick forest when you hear a faint humming from the canopy above you. Quickly, a hive of Beedrill cuts through the foliage and descends toward you and your Pokémon. What do you do?

5) You’ve defeated a trainer handedly, and you both call your Pokémon back into their Pokéball. The trainer falls to their knees and begins to weep. The trainer is a younger individual who only had one, low-leveled bug Pokémon to face. What do you do?

Oh, don't be sad. I've been doing this for a long time now, you're just starting. Don't let this get you down. There will be a ton of new chances, and- … Purrloin, get down from the poor kid's head. Please. Don't look so very pleased with yourself. Just because he lost to you, doesn't mean he's now your property...

@Whimsley ... On a note of abilities. One of Purrloin's abilities is "Unburden". It increases the Pokémon's speed if the Pokémon's held item vanishes for any reason (eaten, stolen, thrown, etc). ... How would that translate to roleplaying? Could I just have her hold a berry and tell her "Drop the berry!" and she'll do so and get a random speed boost, or what? XD

The Twelve Labours: General Discussion

... A random thought just occurred to me that made my eyes widen and I think I'm going to make it my head-canon.

... He beat me, didn't he.

I gave the Creation complete access to my mind, meaning that he learned that he was in an entry. And, he also learned that he needed to beat ME, but since he's a creation of mine existing only in my entry and not in the real world, he cannot beat me by normal means. So, because he's my opposite, he clearly understood whatever about the Labour I don't get (and still don't get), and therefore used his personality to cause me to write him saying that line. According to me, I had written an entry that would clear the requirements, but my Creation had ensured to say the words that he knew would make me fail the Labour. He defeated me by making me fail the Labour.

He beat me and I didn't even clear the Labour for it. I'm completely utterly defeated. I can see him totally laughing his ass off at me inside my mind. ... Damn it. XD
