Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

Well, if we go for another round of posting or two and Pariah isn't there yet, I think we should move to collab as well.
Is it just me or do we not have a discord channel anymore?
Furitta was pulled away unceremoniously by Talon and she stumbled back. But at least they got out of the gas in time. However, it soon became evident that Serpentine was not as lucky. The first bottle did explode right in her face. She mentally cursed. It happened too quickly and the villain didn't give them any chance to actually prepare for anything. Was she being ordered around by Rogue Bat then? Could he see them and directed Barristris to how to break up their formation?

"I'll try. But I need to get through there." She pointed at the wall of gas just in front of them - blocking the entrance where Talon bravely charged in to get to Serpentine. She rubbed the back of her head. If only I can lure her out of here, but with two targets inside..."

She then snapped her fingers. "But yours is a good idea. I think I can find a way to get her full and undivided attention." She then nodded at Usagi, signalling for her to start cracking open those windows. She scanned the area before her and the gas was dispersing slower than she anticipated, but she only needed a few seconds inside.

"Festinatio!"

She sped inside, not breathing any of the gas there but it certainly was painful to the eyes. But she continued in, not even paying attention to Talon and Serpentine who was to the corner. She spotted Barristris in there, the gas not even affecting here a little bit. Barristris was caught by surprise as she had prepared a bottle to detonate near Talon.

She tackled Barristris out of the way and towards the area that didn't actually get infected by the gas yet. Furitta grabbed the bottle before it could fall and then kicked it aside so that it wouldn't explode near them and suffocate her to unconsciousness.

"Brave of you to face me alone."

Furitta shrugged. She only had a few minutes before it was time up. Please for the love of all things good, let those guys recover before she had to book it out of there. She lunged at Barristris and aimed a kick towards her side. The two went on for a while, but neither was getting the upper hand and the gas was creeping towards them.

Marvin took a seat on the empty ammo crate in front of Frankie and then placed his gun on his lap. He tapped his fingers against the cold metal of it. The inevitable question came and Marvin was more than happy to share a portion of his tale to someone - especially such a kind girl such as this medic. Perhaps it was because she was younger than the others, but he found himself willing to impart to her his own story without hesitation.

"Well, I'll constrict my tale to a few minutes." Marvin started but then he heard a sigh coming from the private investigator from before who had found himself near them. The ghoul regarded him with a nod, welcoming the male to join them if he wished. It would not hinder Marvin's willingness to tell his story. After all, he was going to get started. And once he started something, it's hard to get him to stop. Everyone could be listening at some point of his story and he wouldn't bat an eye, or stop. He then clapped his hands once.

"Let's answer my age first. Born thirty years after the Great War, I'm around a hundred and ninety. If you've lived as long as that, you stop celebrating birthdays." He said with a light chuckle. He then stopped tapping on his gun. "My family was a caravan. Y'know, we trade and whatever. Place was still a bit irradiated, but hey, we lived. He then stopped. What else could he tell them, to make it really short. There were a lot of happenings in life so he wasn't sure what was important and what was not.

"Ah right." He muttered to himself before continuing. "We were jumped by some desperate scavengers and I managed to escape to the then-being-made Megaton. Was a junkyard when I got there." Ah yes, he wondered how much something could be so different before then now. "Got involved with some Children of Atom. New cult by the way. I became a ghoul out of desperation for food and caps." He admitted with a slow nod. He's stuck between it being the best decision he's made, or the worst. He still isn't sure.

"After that, I just became a wanderer. Then a mercenary. Then I'm here." Might be for the best to not mention anything about him being affiliated with any of the factions. After all, it may change the other's perspective on him. Also probably be for the best not to tell that he actually went on this mission because he was told to by his other boss - a Railroad Agent. Though whether or not she was actually still part of the organization, he wasn't exactly sure. "Got into some nasty fights before, but hey, who hasn't right? Perk of being a ghoul? You can walk straight through a horde of ferals without them even bothering you."

Mine, I'll work on it tomorrow no worries.
Here's a non-participant to play around with.

Marvin couldn't help but let out a small laugh, silent enough as to not put any unnecessary attention on him, but loud enough for Frankie to hear that it was actually pretty genuine. "Low." He replied first with a shake of his head. "Wanna join the Brotherhood and see how soon we can get some sweet armor like that?" He joked with a grin. Obviously, he didn't take it seriously since he, himself, was one of the targets of the Brotherhood's views. He would immediately be shot to death or to smithereens if he even thought of passing through a squad. It was a good thing these Paladins didn't seem like wasting their bullets on him.

Not yet, at least.

He then waved his right hand in a dismissive way. "At least they'll be in the frontlines, 'tanking' all those hits for us." He whispered, the optimism coming out of him proved that he was either a delusional ghoul or a really great actor. Marvin never really thought of Power Armors to be something so amazing. After all, they were loud and would take away your locations as soon as you took a step forward. Not to mention the sound when you move into and out of it. It was a pain to deal with though, when the person inside is fully armored. No weak point... aside from the Fusion Core behind their back.

Marvin gave her another shrug and scratched his right cheek, though it was over the cloth that covered it. "Wouldn't want to always be nervous, huh?" He then gestured towards the other medic who was going through his medical supplies frantically, as if he could do anything if he left something important. "Ugh, would be a pain if you went and died on us." He said.

When she started to stretch, he used that opportunity to look around. Swordwind and her companion had gotten out of their Power Armor. Swordwind was... small. Ah whatever. The smaller they are, the closer they are to the Devil after all. Marvin had no intention of pissing this girl off. He made the mistake of teasing someone like that and he was pretty damn sure he would have died if he took it any further.

When Frankie mentioned something about it being yoga, he raised both arms, letting his rifle hang by his side. "Hey, I'm not judging. You do you." He then placed both arms behind his back. "Might be for the best. I kind of like not being punched." He returned the smile. Marvin was a marksman, not an expert CQC fighter so he was pretty sure if she punched him now, his knee-jerk reaction might be the only thing to save him.

But his knee-jerk reactions usually involved shooting. So, probably not for the best.

Marvin hadn't spent a century of being a ghoul without knowing the telltale signs of someone not being used to seeing them. Or was not comfortable being around them. But it was alright with him. He's used to others not treating him the same because of him being a ghoul. At least she didn't scream and point, or take a gun and shoot. Marvin could probably rule that into one of his Top 10 Most Horrible Moments. Though from what he can tell, it didn't seem like his appearance was the only thing to distract her from the here and now. Interesting. She seemed to be of that age after all, so he wouldn't be surprised.

The thought of something as simple and idiotic as that made Marvin smile because he knew that it was wistful thinking to have hardened wastelanders acting like that.

When posed about the question of how long they will be there, Marvin was silent for a while. He looked around - giving everyone a passing glance before turning back to the young girl in front of him. "Not sure. We have our orders, sure, but not much else." He gestured to the people who were part of the Brotherhood of Steel and the Mask. "But someone will probably take the lead for the operation." With how powerful the BoS think they are, Marvin had reason to think that one of those Paladins would take the helm of leading them. Though the question of whether or not anyone would follow would remain to be seen. After all, it didn't look like a lot were fond of them.

Marvin rubbed the back of his head, but was careful not to let the hood fall. Last thing he wanted was the girl to stumble on her words even more by showing her more ghoul features. "It'll probably be soon." He finally actually replied to her question. "Everyone's too antsy now. Better we move soon than wait." He pointed out.

There were so many other people he would like to know about right now. Like that raider looking person, old but looked solid. Or that one who looked like a private investigator. Or that one with the mask. They seemed like interesting people who had great backstories and nothing cheered Marvin up more than learning more about other people's experiences. Because it allowed Marvin to think of new ways to survive. That's just how it is. Their experiences could help him in the future, if they ever survive their trip into the Necropolis.

Marvin looked to the Brotherhood people once more when someone decided to approach them. Swordwind? Ah, so that's why she seemed familiar. He doesn't keep in contact with the Brotherhood, but stories of one of their Paladins being a melee fighter and a beast at that one always found its way to him. He imagined someone else, but it was nice to finally know what she really looked like. And the fact that the mythical Swordwind was actually female. Sometimes, rumors are just really inaccurate and it was frustrating when they were wrong.

However, that wasn't the point right now. The air filled with tension between them - a fight raring to go. Marvin had his gun in his hands already and he was prepared to blow someone's head off just for the reason of stopping a fight. But when nothing happened, he relaxed back in his seat. Well, he supposed they were more level headed than that. The person in the mask, who called herself The Mask, seemed rather chill now. Looks like someone was just going for a tease. Interesting. Well, he was pretty sure that he and the others would become at the very least trusted acquaintances because nothing like delving into the death-filled Necropolis to bring everyone together!

Marvin stood up from his seat and stretched. The others seemed antsy to leave, and honestly, the ghoul was as well. Why wait when it looked like they were complete right? This was a really large group but he expected as much. If Pariah wanted them to succeed, then a large group with a variety of people with a variety of skills might be for the best. The one thing that he appreciated more than having a tank like Swordwind was the fact that they had plenty of medics. Though looking over them, especially the nervous one, made him a little bit worried too.

He walked over to a seemingly innocent looking medic, which surprised him. Maybe it was because she was young? Or because she was silent and not being as nervous as that other guy? Or was it because it took him a second look to realize that she was a female? Who knows. "You're a medic right?" He questioned, the lack of any sort of big weapon being an indication for him. The ghoul gave her an encouraging nod and smile. "Looks like we'll be in your care along with the others." It was better for the medics to know his face now, not that it would be hard since it looked like he was the only ghoul there, than when he's hit and dying from blood loss. "The name's Marvin by the by. I'll probably be the one watching your backs, so yeah."
