Hawks pulled his hand back quickly as the spectral wolf burst from the giant's chest. He didn't know if that was a reaction caused by his magic or something else, but it was certainly not something he'd been expecting. Admittedly he hadn't had all that many chances to utilize his healing on other people. He felt a sense of relief as the silver flames didn't harm them and the spirit charged towards the blight. It was certainly an intimidating sight to see. Hopefully this was something Khol was alright with them seeing.

He pushed back to his feet, tensing at the eruption of the tree roots before realizing that they must've been called forth by the druid as they swung through other blighted creatures, seemingly empowered by the silver fire. He made sure to keep a careful eye on the location of each member of the team in case one of them fell or got blindsided by one of these creatures. Well that makes keeping watch more difficult. The thought crossed his mind as Tati'yana vanished from sight. Hopefully that would keep her from being targeted at least.

The hesitance of the large, tree-like blight did not go unnoticed by Hawks as it shuddered to a stop. Claws tightened around his staff and gold eyes narrowed as it stabbed down at the remaining smaller creatures. There wasn't any doubt that sacrificing the lesser blights strengthened the tree, but now they could at least focus on one large one rather than getting overwhelmed. Just had to stay focused on the fight.

Narrowed eyes went wide as the tree twisted to sling the withered husks at them. He dove to the side, away from Khol's body, into a roll and came up in a crouch. Not quite quick enough to avoid all of the pieces of the withered husks as they impacted and shattered across the dirt. He winced as he reached up to pull a thick shard out of his shoulder where it had managed to pierce through his armor. Dammit. Thankfully the sanctuary he threw up at the beginning of the fight seemed to have taken the brunt of the impact; didn't mean it didn't hurt but he didn't have time to worry about himself at the moment.

"Everyone alright?" he called out to the rest of the team. He kept his eyes trained on the tree. "Koth, you got any bigger fire type magic? Something you could take out one of it's legs with maybe." If they could keep it from moving, and at best send it to the ground, there was a good chance they'd take this thing out before Logrim got back.

The next morning...

The early morning dew still hung in the air as Viper flew across the various wooden platforms to where their visitors had been set up for the night. After their confusing talk with Handsome she hoped that Queen Ardent would be willing to help out. She always helped them when they needed it so why wouldn't she do the same for these dragons, even if they are from a different tribe. Hopefully Handsome would decide to come, it would only help convince Ardent that this was a real problem that needed to be solved. She also hoped that Jaguar was being careful. Her talk about trying to find the ones responsible for the threats made her nervous. Jaguar was really strong though so it should be alright.

Her paws hit the platform and she could see the slumbering forms curled up, she almost felt bad for waking them, but it'd be worse if they missed their meeting. "Good morning!" she chirped and immediately the grumbles started up from several of them. She saw Aardwolf's massive stinger, that still made her shiver, move up and away from where his tail had been covering his eyes.

"How can she be so cheery this early." She heard the quiet grumble from the SandWing and flashed him another bright grin for good measure.

"You don't want to be late. The line will get really long if you wait too long." She didn't want to seem pushy but she'd been working for Ardent long enough to know how quickly everyone flew over once the sun came up.

She nodded in approval as Eclipse stretched out from where he'd been pressed up against Skua's side, probably stealing the IceWing's chillier body temperature to combat the jungle heat. "We're up, we're up," he yawned, "Just give us a second."

"Ok! Don't forget the gift you're going to bring her." She stretched out her wings and prepared to lead them to Ardent's hut.

Just standing at the border and waiting made Wolfheart nervous. He didn't like the idea of staying still for too long with everything that was going on. He extended and retracted his claws into the dirt and leaves underneath his paws as he kept an ear out for a MistClan patrol. Silverstar would understand where they were coming from, she had to. He didn't know if they'd lost cats to these murders, but she wasn't one to sit by and let killers run rampant across their territories.

He tensed when he caught movement in the reeds beyond but relaxed almost immediately after when he saw the familiar yellow fur of Lightningnose. He blinked warmly at the she-cat and felt a surge of relief that she didn't seem upset by their presence. "Dawnwing and Tigershine returned to us with Russetfern's body. We want to speak with Silverstar about doing something to stop these murders before this goes any further and any more innocents die." He flicked his tail towards the patrol behind him, "Our numbers are simply for safety, we don't wish any harm on MistClan; only to talk."

"What's going on Lightningnose?" he heard another voice call out from beyond the reeds as a second head joined the first; a mottled gray and black that he was pretty sure belonged to Reedmask. He saw the same surprise flicker across the tom's face as his eyes looked over them before settling on the apprentices for a moment. "I can't imagine this is just a social call, but Sedgepaw'll be happy to see some familiar faces I'm sure."
Ah yeah, forgot bout that
It's been a bit since I've watched RWBY, but this seems like it'd be fun

"I think she will. Even if we've only seen her speak at Gatherings she seems level-headed enough to at least want more information before she makes a decision." Squirrelpaw's voice was quiet as she responded to Ashenpaw. Finchwing blinked warmly at her apprentice as they went to join Greenpool and Wolfheart at the entrance.

Wolfheart felt a little bit of the tension drain from his shoulders at Greenpool's words. Given everything going on right now trust was something that was sorely needed if they were to survive this. "Thank you, I appreciate that trust. The last thing I want is for anyone else to get hurt, or worse." The idea of anyone else ending up like Russetfern made him want to be sick or drive his claws into something. No one else in the clan was going to go through the pain that Braveleap was right now, not if he had anything to say about it.

Amber eyes flickered across the two apprentices and Finchwing before he gave a nod and they all trotted into the forest. He kept to the forefront of the group and padded quickly through the trees. He found it somewhat difficult to ignore that sounds of twittering birds and the scuffling of small paws in the underbrush, but that wasn't what they were out to do. He kept his ears pricked for any noises past those of prey, thankfully hearing nothing, but pausing every so often to remark the borders as Jaystar had requested.

"What's MistClan like?" one of his ears twisted back at Squirrelpaw's question, "We've only met at the Gathering before and that isn't a super long time to get to know them."

"Many of us have friends in MistClan and ThornClan both. There's been peace for so long it's hard not to. They're usually very warm and welcoming," Finchwing responded. Hopefully they'll be that way when a bunch of BirchClan cats show up on their border.

He paused at the edge of their border with MistClan, looking out across the expanse of marsh and reeds. "It'd probably be best to wait for a patrol to come by. I don't think they'd appreciate us just traipsing into their camp with words of war."

Remaining nerves melted away and Viper let her tense muscles finally relax a bit as Skua removed his claws from Handsome's neck and allowed the other dragon to stand back up. He looked more defeated than before and she felt a stab of sympathy for him. If only there was something she could do for him other than kind words and bandages. She never wanted any of the dragons in her tribe, or those she considered friends, to be hurting in any way. Not being able to do anything about it only made it that much worse.

Her head swiveled towards Jaguar as she spoke and her scales brightened just a bit. "I can do that! I work with Queen Ardent enough that I think she would at least listen to what they have to say if I'm there." She might not believe a bunch of outsiders, but her own tribe should grab her attention easily enough. She blinked in surprise at Dreamseeker's words. "You think you could do that? Protect us I mean."

"I think we'd have a pretty good chance. If not immediately, once we figure out who is responsible we can make sure that they leave the RainWings out of all this." Eclipse said with a fair amount of confidence to her ears as he stepped away from Dreamseeker and dropped back to the ground next to her and Jaguar. "I think it's a good idea. If we have someone who is familiar with the innerworkings of the tribe then we already stand a better chance than we did before. We don't know any of the customs beyond what Jaguar has told us so any help would be appreciated." He bowed his head a bit towards her and she perked up a bit more.

Aardwolf nodded in agreement. "I don't know what kind of protection we could promise, but it's a sound a plan as any. It might also do us some good to try and get Lemur to come with us to see Queen Ardent. He may not listen to our requests, but I imagine he'd be hard pressed to ignore a command from his queen."

Wow, these guys were a lot better at planning and getting their ideas out there. She didn't think she'd be confident enough to do something like that. "You guys are meeting with her tomorrow morning right?"
