Valentin's work and exterior belie his personality. In a sense he is the incarnation of the trope of a gentle giant. He is very polite, even shy at times, lectures being really the only setting he can perform in front of many people comfortably. The fellow helps old ladies cross the street and carries their groceries for them, while leaving bowls of milk for stray cats. Valentin also has a quite strict idea of life putting much value in honour, integrity, and duty. Anybody who gets into the way of the Hunter is an enemy of all that is good, and they must be dealt with in a non-civilian manner. The man has come to be very resistant to unexpected changes, preferring slow and steady transitions often leading him to take refuge in the past with books on history and such. The man also has a considerable violent side to him that is largely repressed when it isn't needed, but is truly horrifying when it comes to light; he makes sure to always make horrifying and gruesome examples of them to make even the most animal of werewolves and unholy of witches feel fear. His hatred for the eternal enemies of humanity leaves absolutely no room for mercy when he's on the hunt, a sort of berserk state entering the Hunter when he's on the job.

》H i s t o r y
Valentin was born into a mixed family in the Republic of Moldova, with most roots in Transylvanian Romania where he spent most of his childhood. His family were a fairly long line (about two centuries) of folk Clergy, police officers, and other people using their rustic knowledge against the many vampires locally as well as migrating werewolves and witches. To him, the sight of the supernatural was for a long time believed to be a childish figment of the imagination for a long time in his adolescence. This was not an unreasonable conclusion for him to come to, given he was in possession of a very strong imagination. Indeed he was noted as a very strange boy by most, a very big oaf talking to himself and spending most of his time with books rather than with other children — his parents suspected he had a condition of some sort, but they didn't want him diagnosed lest it destroy what little relations he had. Moving through his school years the marks of the boy were fairly good, and university was the direct path for him. It was in the fourth year of obtaining his higher education that all that past he saw of his father hunting the supernatural came back to him when news came of his uncle's death. The man was torn in half, and the lad's father needed his help. Going back to his home village Valentin was happy to oblige, but in the very orderly universe he imagined he was absolutely not prepared for the many revelations that came to him that day. They quite literally broke him, and it took quite some time including the cathartic killing of one of the culprits of the crime to put the pieces back together. With that, the previously entirely scientific education of the young man began to include many lectures taken on the humanities so that he could learn about the foe plaguing the world. This turned to a sort of obsession, the now fairly large young man doing everything in his power to avenge the fallen uncle knowing that many members of the cabal of the supernatural beings that killed his uncle were still alive and had to be hunted down.

It was some time after achieving his Doctorate that his hunt for the creatures took him back to his birthplace of Moldova. There he managed to cull a vampire, but his master fled to the Middle East to hide with non-state actors there. To have a chance at following them armed he joined the Evro Polis mercenary company, where he saw much combat against them. However, again he failed to catch their elusive leader who he now identified by name (or at least, moniker) as Archimedes. Archimedes fought his way to escape from the righteous effort of the Hunter, making his way to America. It once again took almost a year of investigation to track down the fellow, but track him down he did. Immigrating to the new world, Valentin searched the last known location of the bastard known as Ember Grove. He had to sustain himself while in the United States however, so he took two jobs; the day work of being a Professor at the local university (that would assist him in his task by giving much access to the libraries and intellectual circles there) and some contracts with Operation Humanity (which more directly aids his goal of finding his ultimate prey).

Hello! We are rebooting a roleplay because we lost a lot of folks. It is essentially about a town plagued with supernatural creatures including vampires, werewolves, and witches. They plague the world and some wish to even dominate it while the militant forces of the country try to halt their efforts.

The town of Ember Grove is one of the oldest but always forgotten towns in the United States, founded in 1632. Located off the coast of South Carolina, the town is sometimes a tourist spot but the settled population always seems to be dwindling. It's a hot-spot for crime and murder seemingly but this never seems to become a new story for more than those who dwell in the town. Murders and disappearances are swept under the rug and no one outside of Ember Grove seems to know much at all of their constant mishaps. As far as appearances go, it's a rather nice looking area and most tourists wonder how anything bad could happen in town with such friendly faces.

Ember Grove has a big secret. Many of its residents live in ignorance of the reality of all the disappearances. It is one of the many towns that supernatural creatures gravitate to. Vampires hungry for blood come here looking to feast, werewolves bound through the woods and witches cast spells in the safety of their bedrooms. These creatures have lived for centuries without the public eye really believing they exist. The government, of course, knows of their existence and wants them to stay hidden to keep control of any panicking. Hunters have arisen for generations as well as an actual secret federal operation to exterminate these creatures in an effort to preserve humanity. Trouble looms for the residents as well as for these creatures themselves. Will they be able to coexist or will their secret finally come out? Life for sure is peculiar in Ember Grove...

Vampires are creatures that take on the appearance of beautiful, pale humans yet need blood in order to continue living the way humans do. Sometimes, vampires are often referred to as the night children or children of the night.

✡ What's the difference between humans and vampires? ✡

✡ Vampires are immortal and do not age like humans. If a human is converted to a vampire, the vampire will halt aging at the age they are bitten, forever frozen in time. If they are born vampires, they stop aging the moment they reach full adulthood in their early twenties.
✡ Though vampires can eat foods as humans do, blood is vitally necessary. Human blood is ideal, but animal blood or vampire blood can suffice for a short period of time, usually only for a few hours. The closer an animal is evolutional to a human the better though.
✡ Take the strongest and the fastest human in the world. Now double their strength and speed and you get essentially the speed and strength of a vampire.
✡ Their senses are much more superior to humans. Their sense of smell, sight, and hearing is extremely out of the norm.
✡ Vampires can go in the sun, it is just irritating and unhealthy for their skin, so they prefer not to. Killing is also preferable in the night time so many vampires are on nocturnal schedules.
✡If caught off guard, some older and stronger vampires can use persuasion to manipulate humans, especially if looked right in the eyes. It is essentially unreliable mind control.
✡ Vampires can also drink and get drunk. They will not have to excrete waste unless they eat or drink.
✡ Vampires' eyes become red when very hungry for blood. ✡ Vampires' have a healing factor when injured normally.

✡ Where can vampires be found? ✡

✡Many vampires live in large groups usually with hierarchies. There are many groups across the world. They often take up territories in towns that seem to be erased off the map for the rest of us. This occurs when a large number of vampires essentially raid a town, either kill or make a human farm of the inhabitants, and get rid of any threat within the town. They then own that town. Hunters usually then try to erase that area from the satellite map to try to lower the number of people going towards that area. Those that wander into these territories despite them not being on GPS or maps, end up fodder.
Still, some vampires elect to live in smaller groups of friends and family. Some even are loners.

What happens when a vampire doesn't get blood? **IMPORTANT**

✡If a vampire goes so long without blood, they will slowly lose their rationality, becoming more and more like a carnivorous animal. This occurs in stages.
✡Stage A: Normal
✡Stage B: 2 days without blood leads to throat burning, fatigue, losing the sense of logic, mood swings, as well as auditory and visual hallucinations.
✡Stage C: 4 days without blood leads to stage B symptoms but now the addition of the random urge to attack even fellow vampires. They are ravenous, delusional, and they are mostly irrational.
✡Stage D: 7 days without blood: they are no longer able to communicate, their fangs have lengthened, the vampire will attack anything in sight, fallen into a completely animalistic state. Posture is even worse and they no longer move like humans. Eyes are always red and always dilated. ✡Stage E: 9 days without blood: If a stage D vampire has not gotten blood despite their willingness to kill anyone and anything, then they will fall into a state where they are no longer responsive and their body shuts down. They could be revived with blood, but only into back into a stage D state. Once a vampire enters a stage D state, their brain has depleted too far and there is nothing that can be done to bring them back to a rational mindstate.

✡ Which vampires are strongest? ✡

Pure-blood vampires are strongest; they are descended or are themselves the original vampires without human blood tainting their line. Their strength, speed, and persuasion techniques are better than most vampires. Original vampires are the strongest vampires there is. This is because of the older a vampire, the stronger.

✡ How does a human get converted into a vampire? ✡

A human must die with vampire blood in their system.

✡ Does garlic have an effect on vampires? ✡

They have a food allergy when it comes to garlic. They get hives. However, it's not lethal.

No, they enter most homes welcome or not. However, witches can protect their homes and cast spells such as these.

There is a transition phase where the human has a day to feed. A vampire in the transition state will be overwhelmed and have issues with their sudden heightened sense of sound and smell. Migraines will be unbearable, they will try to binge on food to find it doesn't satisfy, and their throat will burn. They will pass as normal if they do not give into extraordinarly powerful urge to find blood. Once they bite a human, the transition will be complete.

There are currently around 600,000.

✡ How do most vampires feel about humans? ✡

A good portion of vampires feel that humans are essentially potential meals. They see them as lesser beings they way we see pigs and cows. Vampires often laugh at hunters and are usually not even emotionally moved by them trying to defeat them. They underestimate humans greatly. Not all feel this way, of course. Especially, recently turned vampires have nicer feelings towards humans having recently been humans. Pure-blood vampires tend to be the most arrogant.

✡ Can vampires live off animals? ✡

Technically, but they would need blood every few hours and would be weaker than other vampires.

Werewolves

✡ What are they? ✡

✡The children of the moon appear as human as much as vampires do. They are commonly known as werewolves, however, have the ability to change at will instead of only on full moons. They have the ability to shapeshift into humanoid, bi-pedal wolf creatures. The Lycan is well-known for being at its strongest at a full moon. Newly-changed lycanthropes may shapeshift by force on their first few full-moons and lack control.

✡ What's the difference between humans and lycanthropes? ✡

✡ Lycanthropes eat food normally as humans, but in wolf form can choose to eat humans, vampires, or basically any creature with meat on their bones.
✡ They continue to age, even if changed into werewolves, but twice as slow as a human would.
✡ All bodily functions are as normal as humans.
✡ In wolf form, they have enhanced senses, twice the speed of the fastest human, and three times the strength of the strongest human. Their strength in wolf form is indeed superior to that of vampires. Their enhanced senses are all better than that of a vampire too. However, vampires are more agile.
✡ Enhanced speed, senses, and agility can be tapped into in human form, but not nearly as powerful as they are in wolf form. Their eyes will glow yellow if they tap into these abilities so it is a risk of exposure.
✡ Lycanthropes will heal when injured in both human and wolf form. ✡ In wolf form, wolves can howl to attract wild wolves or as a distress call to call in allies. Their howl is louder than that of a normal wolf.

✡ Where can lycanthropes be found? ✡

The lycan can be found in packs usually in more wooded areas. Lone wolves exist but most enjoy packs. Alpha wolves that lead their packs are stronger the more werewolves converted. People can be born werewolves of course, but it makes an alpha much stronger to convert humans into wolves.[

✡ How is a human converted into a werewolf? ✡

There must be a deep bite from a werewolf into human flesh.

✡ What if an alpha bites a human? ✡

If an alpha bites a human, the werewolf that results will have a special bond to that alpha. He or she will drawn to the alpha and the alpha will call to you and seek you out, expecting you to join their pack. The alpha will be stronger with the young werewolf in their presence and the young werewolf will be better off in the alpha's presence.

✡ What's the difference between alpha and other wolves? ✡

The alpha is bigger, stronger and faster. His eyes glow red and he grows in power with each werewolf added to his pack.

✡ How does one become an alpha wolf? ✡

Alpha wolves are usually older, stronger wolves that lead packs and grow in strength over time to assume an alpha role. If one is able to defeat the current alpha, it will become the new alpha.

Many consider themselves to be superior beings to humans. The same concept as with vampires that pure-blood werewolves will be more arrogant than turned ones.

Pure-blood werewolves have no issue with this. They remember everything they do in their wolf form and they have no problem controlling themselves.
Humans who were bitten and turned into werewolves struggle with this. It takes them time to learn to control when they shift, have control of themselves during the shift and then to remember what happened in their wolf form after. They cause the most problems for humans since they often go into a full-on animalistic mode where they may attack, maul and even eat other beings without any recollection of what they did afterwards.

Vampires and werewolves do not usually like each other at all. They have a feud that's lasted centuries

Witches

✡ What are they? ✡

Humans attuned to magical forces and channel these forces through the use of spellcasting. Witches blend into society with ease due to gaining minimal attention and having ways to subtly cover their tracks. The ability of witches are hereditarily passed down.

✡ What's the difference between average humans and witches? ✡

✡ Witches are able to prepare spells and cast them through incantation. Humans cannot cast spells, even if they were to correctly prepare and commit to the necessary actions to perform the spell.
✡ Witches can be ageless and have extremely long lifespans.
Where can witches be found?
✡ Witches hide amongst the populace, while secretly being a part of an organized group known as a coven. Covens have multiple different witch families within itself and not limited to only one bloodline.

The Coven leader is the head figure of a witch coven is usually the most senior and respected member amongst the witches in their coven. They are responsible for the actions of the coven and provide the current mission statement for their coven.

✡ A witch must be born from a family bloodline of witches. Not all members of the bloodline have the capacity to be witches. One may be born with magical abilities.

Yes. It can be any animal but most witches choose creatures that blend in well in society that you can bring everywhere. For example, cats, dogs, birds, and other small animals.

✡ Can witches be bit by werewolves and vampires? ✡

Witches have spells to prevent creatures from piercing their skin. If they don't cast them, then they can cure themselves with concoctions if done before the transition period ends.
If a witch does not do so before the transition period, they will become a vampire or werewolf and lose all their magical abilities.

✡ Are male witches called warlocks? ✡

Yes, I just wrote witches everywhere for my own ease. Sorry if that's confusing for anyone.

Hunters

✡ What are they? ✡

Humans who have dedicated their lives to hunting vampires, werewolves, and witches. They use militaristic, supernatural, and scientific means to combat their supernatural foes.

✡ How does someone become a hunter? ✡

Humans become hunters in a variety of ways. Some hunters are taken in as orphans, others are ex-military looking for a new tour of duty, and some are just common people out for revenge against the supernatural. Most of the time, these individuals have lived harsh lives, having little to no family members or being a product of some sort of tragedy in their lives.
✡ Some hunters are experimented on in order to gain an edge over the supernatural. Even successful experiments come with their own consequences and side effects.

✡ Are hunters always good people? ✡

- No. Hunters tend to use an "any means necessary" approach against the supernatural. Every hunter or group have their own code of ethics, and sometimes there are no limits to how far a hunter is willing to go to eliminate their enemies.
✡ Hunters are known to conduct unethical experiments on the supernatural and even those within their ranks.

Where can hunters be found?
✡ Hunters can either be integrated into normal society or dedicate all of their time to hunting the supernatural.

✡ What are the differences between working in a smaller hunter group vs a larger hunter group? ✡

✡ Smaller groups tend to be more integrated into society due to working normal everyday jobs and being known members of the society they operate in.
✡ Smaller groups have more experience in their area of operation due to keeping their hunting limited to one central area.
✡ Smaller groups usually have less funding and cannot sustain 24-hour operations.
✡ Smaller groups have limited experience to only their area of operation and the supernatural within it. Newly introduced elements will be challenging for these hunters.

✡ Larger groups have hunters from with varying sets of skills and more manpower
✡ Larger groups are funded by larger entities to conduct their operations and can have the capability of sustaining 24-hour operations.

✡ What does "hunting" mean for a hunter? ✡

✡ Hunters mostly aim to eliminate any and all supernatural that manage to appear in their crosshairs. Some hunters have a preferred target (Vampire Hunter, Werewolf Hunter, Witch Hunter), while others go for all things supernatural.
✡ On special occasions, hunters may capture a supernatural for research purposes, interrogation, and/or experimentation.
✡ Hunters are usually divided into two categories:

Out-Group Hunter:These hunters go directly into battle using personalized weapons, with some enchanted by witches they've captured. These hunters have extensively trained their bodies and minds to directly combat the supernatural.

In-Group Hunter: These hunters try to hack into supernatural computers, of supernatural groups, monitor traffic and security camera footage, help rewrite news stories, talk to news stations, monitor and help out group hunters through communication and surveillance. These are usually tech specialists, engineers, and journalists hired. A hunter can fill the role of both of these categories, but it may not be as effective and prove to be more stressful without help.

The first thing people notice is her pale blue eyes and her dark red locks that run down to her chest. Her hair is wavy and often a bit unruly. Angel often pulls it back in a ponytail. It's a shade of red most people would not accept as natural, darkened from it's original natural ginger hue from experimentation. She often jokes that it became more blood red to attract vampires. Her face has a concentration of light-colored freckles in the middle of her face, with outliers scattered all over the remainder of her pale skin. Her skin is clear of tattoos. For now. However, her ears and belly-button are pierced. Her body is toned from her training, but she's on the lanky and small-framed size body-wise. She'd probably be a stick without her muscle as she has youthful metabolism on her side. Her emotions are more on the detached most of the time, so murdering vampires just feels like another daily task for her, like brushing her teeth. Her passionate hate against them is a fire that's always being rekindled. It's one of the only things that keeps her going and she uses it as a clutch at times.

Despite all this, when she's not killing vampires and she's enjoying her leisure time, she's a lot more pleasant. She has nothing to lose and not much to gain, so she tries to live her life in a way that pleases herself, eating what she wants, spending money, and going dancing. Since vampires frequent crowded, dark spaces, she likes to mix her work and pleasure into that activity. Angel can be very carefree when she's caught in these pleasant times. She has dry, sarcastic humor, but loves all types of comedy. Though she has a serious dedication to hunting, she does not carry herself in a serious manner at all, joking in even the most dire moments. She's confident and aware of herself. However, these are moments she's reserved for herself and the random people she comes across and ends up blocking after one night. Angel is not very book-smart at all, but she's not too shabby when it comes to street smarts. Being on her own a lot taught her how to survive and how to wiggle her way out of tough situations. Her planning and tactical skills are not bad for her youth and she's also quite charismatic when she's trying to manipulate people, often resorting to flirting.

Her temper is an easy match to strike. She's a true Aries with her stubbornness and hot-headed personality. Angel has no problem arguing with you indefinitely until she has the last word. At one point in time, her emotions and passionate nature translated into her being a very caring friend. She is good-natured and follows a general moral compass. It becomes obvious that she purposely carries herself in a cold and callous manner to push away people, as she is afraid to let people in.

The Missing Case of the Beaumont family had been big news in town just thirteen years ago. Rebecca Beaumont with her beautiful smile and curly red locks was beloved in town as a hardworking nurse at the hospital who comforted her patients as well as her own children. Her husband, blonde and blue-eyed William Beaumont, had been a journalist, who ironically chased down cases much like the one he became affiliated with. They had three children together: Hope, Angel, and Noah. Hope had been twelve at the time she had gone missing and Noah had been fourteen. Angel was the youngest at age eight. It was quite the tragedy at the time since news got around in a small town, but like so many other cases, it was brushed under the rug. One day it was on the news, then it was never reported about again shortly after.

Everyone but friends and relatives forgot about the missing family. No one ever knew what happened to them, except for the sole survivor Angel Beaumont, but no one ever would recognize her as the sweet little ginger child who frequented sundresses and bows in her hair as who she was now.

The family had been driving out of town to a relative's house for thanksgiving in 2007 and took a wrong turn. They found themselves driving up to a strange, gated community that walls almost seemed militaristic. Rebecca had urged Wiliam to turn around, worried they'd be late but his curiosity got the best of him. It had the potential to be a great news story so he got out of the car to examine the place. Not a moment later did vampires jump their car, taking the entire family into their grasps to add to their blood-farm community.

Humans were used until they couldn't be anymore. Kept in a cell, rarely fed, and only taken out when someone was thirsty, the couple was forced to watch their children be drank from. William was killed early on as he proved to be too much effort as he constantly fought to protect and free his family. His body was left in front of their cell for days before someone came to take it away. Rebecca was broken after this, but she tried her best for her children. She fell gravely ill and so did Hope, who had been a very soft and kind-hearted little girl. They passed away a few days apart. It was just Noah and Angel then, who were just as mentally broken after all they had seen.

Over a year into the ordeal, the two devised a plan to get out by manipulating one of the more empathetic guards to bring them out to see the sun. They knew that any resistance could result in their deaths but they felt there was nothing to lose. To Angel's surprise, Noah distracted them by running the opposite direction once outside, so she could have a chance to escape. She tried to chase after him, only to find herself pulled up into someone's arms. To her luck, it was a hunter who had pulled her into his arms. A small group of hunter's had raided in the base, disguised, on a mission to gather information. She was taken back to the base with them.

The child in the sundress was a strange sight in the Operation Humanity HQ. People were often brought in, but usually no one so young. Since she was already considered missing to any further relatives and her immediate family was dead, she was a perfect candidate for experimentation. Due to the unethical nature of her situation, the commander kept it down low. They lied to her, telling her she was ill from the vampires' maltreatment and they needed to heal her, then proceeded to undergo the procedure. To their surprise, or maybe due to their doctors being more careful with a child, it was fairly successful: they were able to mix vampire DNA into hers without major consequences. They were able to conclude that it was probably successful because she was fed on by vampires for so long. As a result, she was able to move as fast as vampires. The child questioned it but was simply always told she was special.

Their mission from this point was to raise her to be a hunter. She essentially became under their guardianship, being fed, clothed and taken care of by those in the facility. The child was traumatized and gentle in nature, so it proved to be a challenge to make a soldier out of her. However, it was not difficult to manipulate her sadness into anger and to build up a passion inside her, telling her of the horrors of all vampires and how none of them could be trusted. They were evil beings who had no emotions. Having no other outlet or even a proper therapist, she was forced to throw herself into training to be a hunter for the remainder of her life.

Her first vampire kill occurred when she was sixteen. By then, the sweet little girl was no longer recognizable. She had put her entire purpose into killing vampires, growing as colder with age. Never getting to experience school, friends, or many relationships at all, she also got more bored as she got older and more rebellious. Being older and wiser, deep down she knew the hunters had done something to her to give her the inhuman agility and speed, but she never brought it up to them. She was better able to form her own opinions with age and started to feel a secret dislike for them and people in general. Additionally, her passion had grown to an unpredictable amount and she started seeking out vampires while she was alone. With nothing to lose, Angel almost suicidally threw herself after them. Her skill and tact managed to get her out of situations by the skin of her teeth at times, but often she had needed rescuing from backup.

Now a young adult, Angel lives in the base like many other experiments in a small dorm-like room. However, she is allowed to drive a car. She can afford the car as she is paid for her work like other hunters in Operation Humanity. Due to the importance of Angel and other experiments, they try to encourage other hunters to watch over her, even hiring some to watch over her and check on her. They struggle with her stubbornness to do things alone very often.

》History: The original Sanguine Moon Clan was founded before 700 BC by Alexander Drake's father Peridiccas. The Sanguine Moon Clan established itself within Mills, South Carolina in the late 1800s by Alexander Drake, Argo Drake, and Amy Drake. The clan lived within the Mills community for over a century before being put into the crosshairs of Operation Humanity in 2003. The hunters were working with fewer numbers, but were effective against the clan, chipping away at their numbers for months.

The two were eventually in a tight stalemate until the hunters dealt a strategic blow, killing two of the three leaders of the clan, Argo and Amy. In retaliation, Alexander took the remaining members of his clan and overan the town and took it. In the following days, Operation Humanity were driven out of the area and Mills was renamed New Paeonia after Alexander's place of birth.

With new vampire turned hunters and citizens, the clan utilized their skills to form the community that now stands today.

It all started when six vampires, Veronika included, left Britain in the late 4th century. Since then, they have been focusing on acquiring fortune and growing their numbers. The Night Order was officially founded in the late 6th century.

The Night Order started off as local apothecaries in Roman Britain, producing medicine and selling them to the empire and other health facilities. Medicine was direly needed during those times of war, so they quickly amassed fortune in the early years. After they fled Britain, they expanded their business across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, eventually building the first pharmacy in Germany.

Business continued to go uphill from there. With the evolution of science, they were able to create more advanced medicine. They had come a long way, starting out as local apothecaries, building pharmacies, and eventually expanding from their traditional role to wholesale manufacture in the mid-1800s. This was the beginning of the modern pharmaceutical industry.

With the fortune they've amassed over the centuries and the connections they've made across the globe, the Night Order decided it was time to look for a more permanent settlement, a place they could call home. No more running. However, they knew it would be dangerous for the entire clan to settle in one place together. Their clan could be wiped out entirely if they were not careful of the Operation Humanity. So the founding members, along with their factions, decided to go their separate ways and settle in different parts of the world.

Veronika's faction traveled from Europe to South Carolina, where they found the town of Ember Grove. She purchased a huge plot of land right outside of town. She built a huge estate and mansion in the woods along Road 70, where her faction settled in. They've managed to keep a low profile throughout these years, disguising the mansion as a vacation home owned by a wealthy family from the east. The estate, as well as the forest that surrounded it, were privately-owned, so no one bothered to trespass.

After their settlement in Ember Grove, the founding members of the Night Order have since built several hospitals in Europe, America, and Asia, including the local hospital in Ember Grove. For this reason, they had a vast supply of blood bags, and they no longer needed to hunt. They also had consenting human employees who would let them feed if the occasion arose. That was rare.

Their biggest success was becoming the largest pharmaceutical company in the world. Their companies and businesses were spread apart and managed by the founding members and high-ranking members of the clan. They didn't have one pool fund. Instead, all properties and assets were divided equally among the founding members and distributed to their members. To this day, they continue to run and expand their business empire, creating connections and growing their numbers.

Operation Humanity was created and funded approximately 200 years ago while the United States government was in its earliest moments as a sovereign nation. This organization was first dubbed Brother for Humanity, a secret government militant group sought created to quell the rising supernatural presence in the newly formed United States. Over the course of two centuries, no matter what name the group fell under, they managed to not only keep the monsters that bump in the night nothing but stories to tell children, but they also managed to control the population of witches, werewolves, and vampires to a more manageable level. Operation Humanity is aware that the eradication of the supernatural has a long road to victory, but they are willing to continue their mission of purging the country of the blights that dwell in the shadows.

Upon its inception, Operation Humanity took in volunteers to aid in the hunting of the supernatural, and the organization stays true to tradition. While the group stands as a secret national military branch, its members do not always fall within their official ranks. Many solo hunters and smaller hunter groups are contracted to work with and aid Operation Humanity in their greater mission. With the large funds and resources the group receives, Operation Humanity is able to relocate personnel and provide equipment to all of their operating hunters. Each base of operation throughout the country has a Commander as their ranking leader.

Operation Humanity conducts radical unethical experimentation on its members and the supernatural that they are able to capture. These experiments are conducted in order to further understand the strengths and weaknesses of all supernatural and to discover the possibilities of a change in their enemies.

Operation Humanity has both Out-Group Hunters and In-Group Hunters. Out-Group Hunters are the boots on the ground using personalized weapons, with some enchanted by witches they've captured. In-Group Hunters hack into the computers of supernatural and local law enforcement groups, monitor traffic and security camera footage, help rewrite news stories, talk to news stations, monitor and help Out-Group Hunters in the field. These are usually tech specialists, engineers, and journalists hired. Hunters in the Operation Humanity are split up into one of these two categories.

Basic Spells

Weak Telekinesis - "movere" - Most witches have no trouble learning the ability to move light-weight objects into the air or wherever they please with their sheer will. There is no need to speak the latin word after using it for some time. Usually only up to ten pounds worth of weight can be moved at the basic level.

Protection - "praesidium" - This spell can be used to manipulate the magnetic field around any area in a couple ways. At the basic level, salt can be placed around the area you wish and then once the word is chanted, you may create an invisible barrier to whatever creature(s) you please.

Growth - "incrementum" - This spell is used to influence the growth of cells. It can be used to influence hair growth, the growth of plants or to make mild wounds heal faster.

Cloaking - "corium" - A witch will become invisible to those around her at the utterance of these words or, if practiced enough, at will. For beginners, this will only last 30 seconds. At the intermediate level, depending on how far along, it can last 5-10 minutes while advanced witches can do it up to an 30 minutes.

Change - "mutatio" - Hair color, make up color, or even the color of your clothes can be changed with this spell. You can even change the color of furniture or other things around you. However, it's difficult to pick what color you get.

Empathy - "in mentem" - At a basic level of trying to work on your telepathy skill, you can only catch on to random words and emotions of people in a close radius. It quickly becomes overwhelming.

Compass - "inveniet" - Locator spells are too hard for beginners. However, it is not hard to manipulate a compass to point in the direction of the object or person you desire to locate.

Levitation - "volant" - This allows you to levitate up to a foot off the ground. It's fairly easy.

Dream-watching - "et portas somnia aperi mihi"" - With skin contact and consent, you can watch someone's dream.

Minor Illusion by @Tae - "deceptionem" - This spell is used to recreate a sound or smell.

Illusory Script by @Tae - "Lumina solis electis" - You write on paper and imbue it with magic so that only you or someone you allow can see the message. It can be revealed with a dispel magic spell. You must use a lead-based ink to cast this spell.

Magic Message by @Tae - "mysterium nuntius" - One can imbue an object with a verbal message that is only triggered when certain requirements are met. The witch casting the spell determines what those requirements are.

Scribing Spell by @jetipster - "Cogitation scriba" - a scribing spell that automatically pens the caster’s thoughts.

Text Charm by @jetipster - "Inspiciendum inanis strepitus " - A charm for texts that makes them illegible when read without permission.

Plant Growth by @jetipster - "Incrementum frugiferens " - A variant of the basic growth spell specifically for plants.

Spirit Messenger by @jetipster - "animum nuntius" - A small ephemeral creature is crafted from magic to quickly make its way to a target of the caster’s choice to relay a message via sound, text or both. The speed, agility, size, shape and even colour are all variable in accordance with the witch’s ability. The messenger can be intercepted by a more powerful or skilled witch.

Intermediate Spells

After mastering most basic spells and training for at least 5 years, you will be able to perform these by chanting the words. It will get a few years still for you to be able to do this without the words. Children are not taught spells until they turn 16. Most start to get to the intermediate level between ages 20-23.

The basic following spells are stronger for those with intermediate skills:

Telekinesis - "movere" - The same concept as the basic one but now you can probably move things of up to 20 pounds, choke a being for ten seconds, or push someone a few feet back.

Protection - "praesidium" - You can put protection spells on your house, and seal off entries and gateways without the need of salt.

Empathy - "in mentem" - Reading the emotions of others around you is not overwhelming no longer.

Dream-walking - "et portas somnia aperi mihi"" - You may walk and interact in another's dream temporarily with their consent.

These are new spells intermediate skilled witches can do:

Fire - "adhibete flammis" - This is to summon small balls of fire into the palm of your hand. Be careful you don't set yourself on fire! Obviously stronger witches can summon more flames.

Tracking - "locate persona ex nomine (insert name here)" - This spell will give the witch a mental image of someone's location. If the witch has not been around the individual many times before, then DNA or something of value to the person is needed.

Memory Resurfacing/Sharing - "ostende mihi faciem praeterita" - A spell to resurface a memory to let the user watch it in their mind as if they were there. This can be done for another person by skin contact for either both individuals or one. It cannot be done for more than five minutes.

Summoning - " spiritibus, voco te ad modum ut coniungere in itineribus" - To summon a familiar. This works best outside and at 3am, when the veil is thinnest.

Astral projection - "Accipe spiritum meum leve fuga" - One must be lying down in a comfortable setting, undisturbed and everything must be completely silent. Then they must chant this over and over quietly until they open their eyes and can stand up from their body. They may then travel to where they wish and see who they wish without anyone seeing them, as they are on a different plane. This can only be done for a very short time before you risk being separated from your body permanently. You may also encounter danger on this plane of existence.

Conjure an object - "Inde rem hanc adducite" - This can be used to conjure small objects or teleport one item from somewhere nearby to your hand.

Learn a language - " In hac oscula capio lingua vestra" - With this spell, you may kiss someone who speaks a different language and be able to then speak it too.

Internet Manipulation - "Mutata in computatrum mundo" - This can be used to aid in hacking into or changing websites as you see fit. Hacking into complicated things such as into other peoples' computers or into the dark web takes more advanced skill.

Electricity - "fulgur de technology osculer oro digitos" - Energy can be taken out of electronics and used as to wield electricity to as a weapon as a means to shock another person. These shocks are irritating and hurt at the intermediate level. They tend to hurt a lot more at the advanced level, but killing using this method is considered forbidden yet achievable to advanced users.

Enchant - "fascinare hoc telum ad como quæ ego sum in mente" - You can enchant a weapon or object to have certain qualities: resistance to fire or bullets for example. To do so, you must bathe the weapon in what you want it to be resistant towards or for it to have imbued into it and chant this until the object lights up.

Duplicate by @Tae - "Speculum mihi" - This spell creates three duplicate illusions of yourself in your same space. You can move them in the direction of your choice, but they also mimic all your movements and speaking. If they are attacked they will dissipate immediately.

Weaker Silence by @Tae - "Silencio" - No sound can be created within a 25 ft radius for thirty seconds. This can also inhibit witches from casting any spells that they need to chant for.

Dispel Magic by @Tae - "obliterare famam effectus" - Allows one to dispel magical effects. The type of things one can dispel depends on the ability of the witch casting the spell and the skill level of the magic that they’re trying to dispel

Lock Spell by @jetipster - "Adamantius inexpugnabilis" - A complex spell to be used on locks that can only be removed by the caster, a blood relative or upon their death.

Ward Spell by @jetipster - "Suus cautio" - A thin personal ward cast over one’s skin that reduce harm once. The more powerful the witch the longer the ward can be held and the more damage it can repel. This is an intermediate spell

Shield by @jetipster - "Clypeus" - This is a personal shield that reflects both magical and physical attacks. The more powerful the witch the stronger the shield, the larger the shield and the more easily it can be shaped. It is an intermediate spell that can be held up to ten seconds.

Advanced Spells

Usually after someone has been practicing magic after about 50 years, they are able to perform these types of spells. Only a head witch or warlock can do these without the words by their sheer will.

The intermediate following spells are stronger for those with advanced skills:

Internet Manipulation - "Mutata in computatrum mundo" - Hacking into complicated things such as into other peoples' computers or into the dark web is easier for these individuals.

This can be done to other witches. Head witches will often have this done to younger witches if they have done well in their studies as an award to allow them to keep their youthful beauty. This requires a ritual. This also allows them to live for many years if they can avoid death.

Animal Charming - "Creatura terrae, quod sicut et ego votum" - Very powerful witches can charm animals and bugs into doing as they wish for up to ten minutes.

Fear by @Tae - "Ostendam summum metum" - You create a phantasmal image of the person's greatest fear. It can’t harm the person, but they won’t know that as it looks entirely real. You need the heart of a hen for this spell.

Light magic wielding - "Summone lux" - Light magic could be summoned as a force used to defend oneselves in the form of orbs and such. It can come in personalized colors and can give mild burns to foes as well as pushing them backward if hit. Some intermediate magic users can do this if taught well.

Electronic Manipulation - "Machinis ut humanum, flectere voluntatem " - Strong witches can manipulate electronics including the lights, the televisions, cameras phones, tablets, games and computers.

Dark sight- "visus tenebris"- Allows the user to gain night vision for 12 hours.

Breathe Underwater - "Tolle quod piscis, et dabo mihi" - Strong witches can do a spell to breathe underwater but they must be near the body of water they wish to breathe in. It will only last ten minutes.

Illusion - "Mutare ea quae vident" - Usually mostly head witches or very old and powerful witches can create illusions for one person to see upon either an item, another person or a small part of their vision. They last only a few moments.

Boundary Ward by @jetipster - "Cingo terminus" - a boundary ward set to repel basic magicks and provide a basis on which other magicks can be attached e.g. detections, alarms, repels, defences, illusions, etc.

Forbidden Spells

These spells bring negative energy. Your personality often changes for the worse as you use them more and more. It is the curse of dark magic. They require at least intermediate skill for most.

Love - "hanc cor meum, quod certamen haec duo" - This could be used to make someone fall in love with you or whoever you choose for a short amount of time. It is highly forbidden, and extremely against witch law. You will need something special to both subjects of the spell and the heart of frog. One must be in each hand.

Necromancy - "vivifica quid erat iterum periit" - This could only be used to revive those that have passed within the last twelve hours. Any time after that is too long passed. It is extremely against the witch law and against the laws of nature. Your soul will surely darken. You will need to do a ritual involving drawing symbols in dirt, lighting candles, and the heart of a living being that matches the species of that what has died to offer sacrifice to replace what was lost. Sometimes the one you revive may not come back the same.

Mind read - "Fiat mihi in mentem autem (insert name here)" - This will allow you to read someone's thoughts for about a minute. You will need a belonging with their energy. This is considered against witch law for being too invasive and dark a notion. It could be used to cheat on tests and in many occasions in life. Your head will ache painfully for hours after.

Curses and Hexes - "Et invenietis industria tenebris vos (insert name here)" - This can be used to curse or hex another witch or human. Witches and werewolves are immune to this. This will bring them bad luck for a few hours or cause them to fall ill. It's obvious why this is bad. You will need to make a doll of them with something that belongs to them incorporated.

Dark energy wielding - "Summone obscurum" - This could be used to manifest dark energy as a matter to defend yourself with by attacking people with it or hiding yourself in it. You can even manipulate others' shadows. It is looked down upon to associate yourself with dark magic; it takes a toll on you.

Shapeshift- "Cum hoc celia et facti sunt vos" - If you make a brew, you can drink it and have the illusion of taking another's appearance on for the hour. The brew must contain a lock of their hair or a teardrop, and something of sentimental value to the witch.

Speak with Dead by @Tae- "Invenies tua, et veni ultra velum intrabit in vasculo muliebri spiritu"- You call upon those that have past on to speak for a short time. They possess the witches body for a short time, using them as a conduit. You can call upon a specific spirit, but there is no guarantee that it will be the spirit that comes. The odds of the correct spirit appearing is increased if you use the blood of a relative to cast the spell. Either way blood is required for the spell.

You guys may add more basic spells into the roleplay that are non-offensive; spells that are just to add convenience and fun. Just put them into suggestions especially if offensive. More offensive skills will need drawbacks and to be nerfed as much as possible...All magic comes with a price.

Road 68

If you go down this road straight for about a half hour and make a turn down a barely noticeable road towards what appears to be a gated, private community, you'll find it's occupants a bit strange. Not many people venture here and those who do don't make it out. This small town was called Mills and is now overtaken by Sanguine Moon.

Road 69

This is a very long road through wooded areas and plains. After an hour's worth of travel, about 50 miles in, if you make turn down a dirt trail, you'll find the gated entrance to a very large facility where you will be told to turn back. This is where Operation Humanity can be found.

Forbidden Spells

These spells bring negative energy. Your personality often changes for the worse as you use them more and more. It is the curse of dark magic. They require at least intermediate skill for most.

Love - "hanc cor meum, quod certamen haec duo" - This could be used to make someone fall in love with you or whoever you choose for a short amount of time. It is highly forbidden, and extremely against witch law. You will need something special to both subjects of the spell and the heart of frog. One must be in each hand.

Necromancy - "vivifica quid erat iterum periit" - This could only be used to revive those that have passed within the last twelve hours. Any time after that is too long passed. It is extremely against the witch law and against the laws of nature. Your soul will surely darken. You will need to do a ritual involving drawing symbols in dirt, lighting candles, and the heart of a living being that matches the species of that what has died to offer sacrifice to replace what was lost. Sometimes the one you revive may not come back the same.

Mind read - "Fiat mihi in mentem autem (insert name here)" - This will allow you to read someone's thoughts for about a minute. You will need a belonging with their energy. This is considered against witch law for being too invasive and dark a notion. It could be used to cheat on tests and in many occasions in life. Your head will ache painfully for hours after.

Curses and Hexes - "Et invenietis industria tenebris vos (insert name here)" - This can be used to curse or hex another witch or human. Witches and werewolves are immune to this. This will bring them bad luck for a few hours or cause them to fall ill. It's obvious why this is bad. You will need to make a doll of them with something that belongs to them incorporated.

Dark energy wielding - "Summone obscurum" - This could be used to manifest dark energy as a matter to defend yourself with by attacking people with it or hiding yourself in it. You can even manipulate others' shadows. It is looked down upon to associate yourself with dark magic; it takes a toll on you.

Shapeshift- "Cum hoc celia et facti sunt vos" - If you make a brew, you can drink it and have the illusion of taking another's appearance on for the hour. The brew must contain a lock of their hair, a teardrop, an item with their scent on it, a picture of it and something of sentimental value to the witch.

Speak with Dead by @Tae- "Invenies tua, et veni ultra velum intrabit in vasculo muliebri spiritu"- You call upon those that have past on to speak for a short time. They possess the witches body for a short time, using them as a conduit. You can call upon a specific spirit, but there is no guarantee that it will be the spirit that comes. The odds of the correct spirit appearing is increased if you use the blood of a relative to cast the spell. Either way blood is required for the spell.

The town of Ember Grove is one of the oldest but always forgotten towns in the United States, founded in 1632. Located off the coast of South Carolina, the town is sometimes a tourist spot but the settled population always seems to be dwindling. It's a hot-spot for crime and murder seemingly but this never seems to become a new story for more than those who dwell in the town. Murders and disappearances are swept under the rug and no one outside of Ember Grove seems to know much at all of their constant mishaps. As far as appearances go, it's a rather nice looking area and most tourists wonder how anything bad could happen in town with such friendly faces.

Ember Grove has a big secret. Many of its residents live in ignorance of the reality of all the disappearances. It is one of the many towns that supernatural creatures gravitate to. Vampires hungry for blood come here looking to feast, werewolves bound through the woods and witches cast spells in the safety of their bedrooms. These creatures have lived for centuries without the public eye really believing they exist. The government, of course, knows of their existence and wants them to stay hidden to keep control of any panicking. Hunters have arisen for generations as well as an actual secret federal operation to exterminate these creatures in an effort to preserve humanity. Trouble looms for the residents as well as for these creatures themselves. Will they be able to coexist or will their secret finally come out? Life for sure is peculiar in Ember Grove...
